Comment: Playing devils advocate here: Why SHOULD Cheney leave this club and denounce it just because Al Sharpton says he should? Whether or not the flag is considered offensive to blacks or not, Cheney may not give a damn, or maybe he didn't see it because it doesn't mean the same thing to him as it does to black people, therefore it is easy to ignore and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb like it would if one of us were to come upon it. Al sometimes, takes on waaay too many little battles (IMO) and should concentrate on the war. By Cheney utilizing this club, we know where he stands towards race relations with blacks (he could care less). Therefore, blacks have to show we care more at the polls this coming election so those like Cheney are not voted in again. But trying to force the man to leave the club and denounce it, I think Al is overstepping his bounds. You can't force the man to do anything. You can only expose him for what he is and let the chips fall where they may.

Comment: Bad_Kitty, co-sign. This was another "where's the punchline?" article for me when I just read it, lol. Couldn't believe it was real, it seems so insignificant. Being in the south, I see the Conf Flag flying all the time and pasted on cars and trucks and whatnot so I'm confronted with the reality that this is still a racist country all the time, but I will say Sharpton's point about that particular flag being flown in New York of all places does make you pause a bit. But in the end, it doesn't matter. So Cheyney doesn't care about Black folk. Is that a newsflash? lol Hardly. Movin on to bigger things...

Comment: I like Rev. Al. I've met him and he seems like a real, genuine, good guy. BUT.... sometimes, he goes to far. All of the demands, protests, ahhhhh... just stop it...His causes sometimes make black people look like the most sensitive, emotionally weak race on earth. I say black people because Rev. Al is using the "offensive to black people" as reason for placing demands on Cheney not to go. I personally could give a damn if he goes to a hunting club.. a damn hunting club, that hangs the Confederate flag...Cheney and Bush have pulled off the great American fleecing, starting a war, giving gigantic contracts to companies they own, making billions while real people die on a daily basis for their money to grow, and we the American public and the rest of the world can do nothing about it. Why Rev. Al chooses to fight this particular battle, I don't know. It wreaks of weakness and lack of emotional hardness...
