All you are guarenteed in this country is that what you say will not get you put in jail (unless it is a threat). What these morons do not fully grasp is how fully offensive the phrase is. We all know that "ho" is a reduction of the word "whore" which means a promiscuous woman (usually money is involved). Being raised in the South, "nappy-headed" was always an insult. It implied lack of personal hygiene and had a severely racial undertone of being inferior from lighter-skinned blacks with straighter hair. So in combination, Imus was calling these college athletes morally loose and inferior. I have met plenty "ho's" but very few have shot hops at the collegiate level. Most just don't have that kind of drive and dedication.
