I'm wondering if his closes friends and family members have advised him to stay out of the media? Beating a woman, despite the reason, is a true coward and doing it in-front of an unbiased witness is to say the least, professional suicide! The title of his book reminds me of the title of a another, about an ego-tripping monster who abused his wife in every manner, "Whats Love Got To Do With IT!

Comment: Capp, I guess the difference is that when I am "heartly sorry for having offended thee" I go out of my way to not only say it, but to mean it! My actions show I am truly sorry! Media hype, book publishing and all this other doesn't show the actions of an adult sorry for his/her offenses. Exposure is not the problem, lack of humility is!... Have we become a society that "needs" to identify ourselves with people we don't know, just because they are popular? Are we that trusting of images now we defend them because they said they were sorry? Even with time, most have not learned words are very empty...I'm like the state of Missouri, "show me!"

Most women just look at the whipping itself like there was nothing a woman can do to prevent it. Comment: These statements are all opinion, because none of us know these 2 human beings, but I'm noticing a high % of our people jump to the defense of people who have bad character! EX: Vick, Simpson, Jackson, Mangum(Duke/lacrosse rape victim) all because we "think" we know them! This adult male, regardless of whether or not he was an abused spouse, beat his wife & in front of a witness! As a Bishop, he chose to be held to higher standards than me or you, regardless of his marital situation...We ask woman everyday on trial for murdering their abusive spouse, why didn't you seek protection? Why didn't you just leave? Why didn't you legally separate and divorce? Which is worse in the eyes of God & the law of the land, divorce or physical abuse of a spouse? He doesn't lack some form of knowledge, ie., writing a book, leading a ministry, so beating his wife because he was abused, is not a defense. Juanita isn't innocent by any means, just she hasn't committed a crime in the eyes of the law. If she were the one witnessed beating him down in a lot, then I would be saying the same thing about her! The black eye is not on their marriage, marriages fail everyday, its on the face of their followers who believed they were living up to their own preachings.
