Your standing in the community can dictate where your star goes! Though it is an honor, it is usually part of a publicity blitz. Have you ever notice that people get these stars when they have a project coming out, or they need to keep their name in the media? Some times, the fans gather the money for the star's upkeep, etc. It costs $25,000 for the star...

And Bigfriend is right. This man has no acting credentials in his repertoire other than a few bit parts. Where does that garner for him to get this honor? What has he contributed to Hollywood and the Film industry?
Hollywood is getting too lax by giving these stars to just anyone who can afford to pay for a spot on the Walk. It should be an EARNED and WELL DESERVED honor.
If they did a NY Walk of Fame - well then maybe he would deserve it because he has made contributions to the Entertainment Industry on the East Coast with his (although mostly sampled) music, Sean John Fashonista stuff, etc...
Oh - by the way, not hating. Getting plenty of sleep.

If that were the case - hell lets just uproot the REAL stars that have contributed and had to overcome certain challenges in the industry like Sidney Poitier and Dorothy Dandridge - need I go on????
And no the criteria has not changed - any fool with enough money can get a star.
It was a time that you had to be nominated to get this honor. It took years sometimes and people actually lobbied for that particular person to achieve this.

Ya know why? Because like it has been said, a Hollywood star is still connected to some notable acting credits built over the years. I said No only because the price was kind of high. I asked if she could give a discount for a future senior citizen. She said, No. I was surprised! But anyway...what was I saying.... Oh yeah, she was selling ice. Man, it's amazing what you can get delivered these days..... pizza, groceries, subpoenas, coupons...especially that 20% Bath and Beyond....I use that all the time! and uhmmm... what else can you get delivered... oh, packages that you order online. Have you every shop at half.com? No? I have. Did you know they are owned by Ebay? Yep, they surely are. I'm not lying. Really they are. Oh, too bad they can't deliver cigarettes cause I could go for a Puff right now. Oh crap! I just realized I was suppose to be talking about Puff Daddy, I mean Diddy, no Shitty. Oh well, I think I'm going to go order some ice.

Comment: And???????????? I'm definitely not hating but I do think there are alot of other stars who have truly paved the way in entertainment and haven't gotten one as of yet. Yeah, I'll give him his props on his clothing line and other successes but really with all the ABC corny raps and re-dos, is that paving the way for talent. And uh (coughing) excuse me, if it wasn't for Biggie's success, nobody would have ever known Puffy but as the sidekick so this was an advantage to him to get lucky!

Comment: I just wanted to add that Bigned69 is right that a Hollywood star is for contributions to the Entertainment industry. I used to live right around the corner from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so I know. If you look down at the stars, you see icons of radio microphones for radio, record discs for music, movie cameras for motion pictures, etc. The stars are NOT just for acting. Oh, and although I acknowledge Diddy's pulling himself up by the bootstraps and all, I AM A DIDDY HATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
