Comment: I like the way he says that Johnson Is coonin' shuckin' and jivin'. I guess he says that because the Clintons are white and Obama is black. So I guess that means because he does not support Obama who is black Johnson is a sell out? I love the Double standard. Do you HAVE to support Obama because he is black? That is stupid in itself! Presidential campaigns ALWAYS try to make the other canidate look bad and themselves look good he was not doing anything for the Clintons that has not been done before or will not be repeated. But because he is speaking out against a black presidential canidate that means you are a sell out for the white man? People have a right to thier opinion and who they want to support if it is not Obama oh well. Not every black person has to love Obama! I love the way black people will bust out the race card... even on other black people!! And BET would not be sucessful if BLACK people did not watch it! Get over yourself Ali.

Comment: Amen Mr. Ali! I was truly disgusted when I heard Bob Johnson’s comments yesterday. Don’t hate on Obama because your legacy will only consist of booty shakin videos! With 24 hours of broadcast time available, at any given time there was, and still are, only two hours dedicated to positive programming on BET!!! Let this be a lesson to us all, no matter how wealthy, “prestigious” or “educated,” that crab-in-a-bucket mentality still plays. Barack Obama is the logical result of the Civil Rights Movement. That’s my opinion. Its okay to disagree with me; however, please don’t result to shuckin and jivin on the world stage! Your comments are not limited to the hood!

Comment: Bigfriend, surely you're not that myopic. Surely you recognize that ALL the Blacks in support of Clinton are criticized the way Bob Johnson has been. Perhaps the reason is the WAY he chose to campaign for his candidate, not just pointing out differences in issues, but he went where even most White supporters of Clinton wouldn't dare go. He hit under the belt, wallowed in filth and mud, and for what? Why bash a viable Black candidate running for America's highest office? For some White lady whose husband led a good economy? lol Why not have some CLASS and just simply point out Clinton's azzets (after all he was supposed to be introducing HER, correct?) and leave BO's name out of his damn mouth? In one statement, he managed to do what his cable station has done over the years--divide Black folks and make us look like ignant fools to "others." Congrats to him for that. *Sigh*

Comment: I find it deeply maddening, saddening that WJC is called "the black president" by some in the AA community . . . why in this existence would Billary think that a sell-out Bob Johnson carries credibility in the AA community?: does the black president thing extend and expand on credibility to other dubious individuals? . . . a Bob Johnson does not associate with a Billary without consideration of getting quid pro quo (equal substitution)for money spent . . . so, what is Johnson expecting from Billary if Billary becomes president?

I would like to add that rather than get up in arms over bob's remarks we have to consider the source and check his record cause his hands haven't ever been clean. Besides that he doesn't garner ANY votes and is not respected enough amongst blacks to encourage new ones for billary. I think billary, her husband and their new bootlicker may have don themselves a disservice and not just in South Carolina.

You deflect how you feel, don't really comprehend the article and still come like some kind of black elitist! This article has nothing to do with color votes it has to do with one man throwing the other under the bus! Bob didn't have to remark on Obama it is not for him to champion the clinton cause and to continually use the man's admitted marijuana use and then backtrack - well billary backtracked but never apologized for jumping on the war machine I guess her contributors should do likewise. Bob is a bootyshaking video pimp who made stoopid money exploiting his own people. But no Bigfriend, this ain't about race.

Comment: Great letter Najee. I totally agree with you. The reason why most of us are riled up has nothing to do with BOB Johnson not supporting Obama, its about his comments that hit below the belt. As someone said earlier he was suppose to be introducing Clinton not dissing Obama. His comments were unnecessary. If when Oprah went to stump for Obama she brought up Monica Lewinsky I'd be equally disgusted with her and the Obama camp.Anyway Bob has done Obama a favour cos his wrong choice of words has helped hand over some of Clintons supporters over to Obama.

Comment: I agree with most on this post that Bob is a rich moral idiot and Bigfriend is probably a not rich moral idiot (in fun-sort of-unproven of course), but I will point out another overlooked blatant hypocrisy. Did we forget that Clinton spent a great bit of his campaign lying about whether or not he exhaled or inhaled dope. His dumbazz needs to reel his people in quick on this whole Obama past thing cause they need to be the last ones concerned about what he honestly admits that he did in the past. Further, if everyone adult that tried drugs(including weed, yes it's a drug), abused alcohol or uses them now voted for Obama because they can relate, then I would offer that 3/4 of the country would vote for him at least and he would win hands down. And I propose that we figure out a win to show our disdain for Johnson with his businesses. Rally the troops Ali.

Comment: This just in........ Key Clinton Ally Rangel calls Obama remarks 'absolutely stupid' by Christi Parsons Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton declared a truce in their recent war of words last night, but an important Clinton ally was still actively engaged last night. Rep. Charles B. Rangel said in a CNN interview that Obama was "absolutely stupid" in his part of the exchange over the relative influence of Rev. Martin Luther King and President Lyndon Johnson in passing civil rights legislation. "How race got into this thing is because Obama said 'race,'" Rangel said in an interview. "But there is nothing that Hillary Clinton has said that baffles me." Clinton and Obama yesterday were trying to de-escalate the conflict, which began when Clinton said that King needed the help of a strong president, Lyndon Johnson, to get legislation passed. Some leaders complained she was giving Johnson more credit for civil rights progress than King, and Obama said her remarks were baffling. Even as the two candidates were calling for an end to the back-and-forth yesterday, Rangel was criticizing Obama publicly. "I would challenge anybody to belittle the contribution that Dr. King has made to the world, to our country, to civil rights, and the Voting Rights Act,” said Rangel. “But for him to suggest that Dr. King could have signed that act is absolutely stupid. It's absolutely dumb to infer that Doctor King, alone, passed the legislation and signed it into law." (sigh)

Comment: People have often questioned why a Democrat in the white house (preferably Obama) means so much to me. I've explained to them that in Britain, we tend to follow whatever the Americans are doing, kinda like the little brother copying everything the older brother does regardless of whether it is right or wrong. Prime example Tony Blair following Bush into Iraq. So if we're going to continue that tradition of following the Americans I'd prefer if they followed a Democrat. Plus it gives us Brits HOPE that one day we too would get a black prime minister.

Why is it that prominent black folk are always the first to speak out against other prominent black folk. Yt just sits back and says: let the kniggers get them, they'll do it. And sure enough some wanna be respected black figure (who by the way proposed the Patriot Act) takes aim to shoot down a his fellow man. No one is saying that Obama should get a pass because he is black, but I do believe that if you side with his opposition there is no reason on earth (other than licking boots) to try to disrespect him. Calling the man's comments stupid is stupid, and I suspect it was done on purpose to fan flames. They are trying to force Obama to play the race card, and lose his cool. It can't be done. OBAMA in '08 - %*$!( the clintons and any ignorant black person who thinks it necessary to show support for the Clintons by bashing Obama. If you're a black supporter of Hillary - fine. Do that, be that. But how dare you spew insults at the only ever viable African American candidate. YT wouldn't do it to their own, and neither would the jews.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result...
well, Black folks, some--the majority-- keep doing the same things over and over...what does that say?
1) collective insanity and/or
2. they must not know their history enough to know that they are continually doing the same thing or that the same thing is being done to them that has been done for the last 4oo years
does that answer your question?

Comment: Bigfriend it appears you are not in touch just like Bob Johnson. It is funny he lines up with someone who can make him some more money!!!!!!! Look Bob Johnson within the African american community will have his naysayers and followers. But Bob is downright wrong for how he made his billions, no moral values at the expense of his own people, typical capitalism that is at odds with all minority countries for how it sees how the world should work and have values. Change is the hardest thing to accept by humans regardless of color. We are in a new era where the politics of old are no longer working and the struggles of those who would like to keep the current system in place are desperate. Change is what Obama is doing. Hillary, her husband, and Bob Johnson and bigfriend are apart of the old politics. They are desperate (look at bigfriend's comments) and their number one tactic is distortion. Obama is about everyone. Obama is real just as is John Edwards. But it is time for change and Obama to me is totally about change. So I commend Najee Ali for his comments because he hit it right on target. In order for African Americans to get anywhere it will take the wealthy African americans doing something good with their money that uplifts our spirits from the current living conditions we face. We can't wait on the gov't, God, etc. I wish Bob Johnson was one but I do not consider him one. Take a look at Oprah. She shows you how you are suppose to help others when you are rich.

Comment: I have no problem with Black folkS supporting Clinton. I also don't have a problem with Clinton supporters (Black or White) criticizing Obama, it is part of politics. What I find interesting is that White folks try to be very careful about the way they criticize Obama because they don't want to be perceived as racist. If Obama was White I believe that more people would try to make the drug non-issue an issue. After all this is politics and this is what people do when they are trying to win an election. What gets me is that White folks don't have to say negative things about Obama, because we got Black folk who will do the massa's dirty work against their own. If I was a Clinton supporter I like to think that I would not allow myself to be used in that way.

Comment: That's my man Najee, always one to speak his mind. However, your ire may have been a bit misguided. Readers, this is FAR BEYOND BLACK AND WHITE. Like everything else in politics, it is about MONEY, plain and simple. Billionaire Bob jumps in bed with the Clintons because he stands to profit more with them in office in the future, that's all. Unfortunately, the man that once created a media empire has horrible communication skills, which I find ironic. Yes, it aired his ignorance in public, but how do you get back at him? He no longer owns BET, and you can't take away money he's already earned. So what? Boycott some Charlotte Bobcat games? Najee, you have intellect and potential leadership skills on a wide scale. Reducing yourself to name-calling only make yourself look small. In the end, your words do not even lightly mar billionaire Bob, but do not worry- the natural order of the universe will exact its tax from Mr. Bob Johnson...

I vote for my best canidate. Those that support Sen Clinton that's your choice,it's cool with me. Im supporting Sen Obama because i believe in his message.
And yes I did some name calling but by design. There are a lot of stories on EUR.I wanted and got everyone's attention to the injustice and the Black on Black crime that Bob Johnson pulled on Obama.
Johnson role was simply to introduce his canidate Sen Clinton, His comments about Obama was a dirty low blow.
We needed someone to speak out publically against it, condemn and hold Mrs Clinton accountable for her support of someone like Bob Johnson.
Bob is a Billionaire you think he cares what I say about him.You think he has time to read EUR?
the real meaning of the open letter to Bob.was to get YOUR attention.
We need to circle the wagons and support and defend our brother Obama when he needs us most that time is now.
Bob Johnson, Rangel, will not do it. We have to.

Johnson has never been politically active enough to encourage a vote let alone voters in general. It really does! If you couple Bob Johnson with Hillary Clinton's MLK/LBJ Comments and with Bill Clinton's troubling appearance yesterday on the TJMS, it's clear that Bill and Hillary Clinton can only relate to Black folks from paternalistic and patronizing perspective. Call it the White Liberal Missionary Position: Benevolent Whites folks want to save the African savage. They don't look at us as peers but pet projects. Listen to what Hillary Clinton said just today, "As President, I will empower the African American Community." Can someone please tell this White woman we don't need her to empower us. We already feel empowered; that's why we're trying to take over the White House. We don't need their scraps or their pity, just the keys please.
As for Bob Johnson, he's been insulting the intelligence of the Black Community for over two decades starting with his false promise to create a network that mirrors Black life. Negro, Please! If Bob thinks that 24 hour rump shaking is a mirror on our world, than he's more pathetick than I thought! Enough is enough!
