Comment: It continues to come out from all sides it seems just how many artisitic liberties were taken to do this film.

Comment: Tell them muhphukkas to google this:A Barrel Full of Bad Apples: Police Corruption and the War on Drugs...PEACE.

Comment: For real though - the field is wide open for any movie maker when it comes to law enforcement. You can't give them enough credit for the corruption that they allowed in every major city and also involved themselves heavily. These agents are simply hit dogs!

Comment: Denzel must have been thinking way ahead a year ago when he filmed American Gangster and then did Great Debaters after because as ya'll know, an artists last film can be what people remember you by until your next. By Debaters coming out a month after AG, it put Denzel in the clear again. LOL!

Comment: symbolically I can see where such a suit MIGHT cause folks to be a lil more "true" to hsitorical facts when creating a film nbased on historical figures surely they dont really think they can win though.... or maybe theyre just trying to get paid?

Comment: trying to get paid

Comment: This is bullsh*t! If they truly believed they were being "defamed" they would not have let it get to the big screen! I believe they just wanted to see how much the movie was going to make & decided AFTERWARDS to get a pie of the pie. This will be thrown out like last nights trash!

Comment: They are not going to get a dime.

Comment: Another waste of taxpayer resources, and a colossal waste of time. I am certain the public's perception of the DEA was not changed by this movie, not do we give a sh*t.

Comment: ...about the DEA OR Frank Lucas.

Comment: The last paragraph is very telling. It looks like some people were so greedy, they didn't pay attention. And if the New York City Drug Enforcement Agency wants to get funky, there are already PLENTY of evidence regarding AND other movies that use the same information. CASE DISMISSED!!!!

Comment: There is no such thing a a true movie. If you want to know the truth about any person or topic, the only way is to read multiple sources.

Comment: now for some real news. "BET FOUNDER APOLOGIZES TO OBAMA" http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/17/clinton.obama/i ndex.html

Comment: most people who live in, have visited for any substantial amount of time, or have relatives who are reliable and live in major cities or little azz towns know one of the only ways drugs are able to flourish yesterday, today, and possibly tomorrow is because of the cooperation of the state, local, and federal law enforcement officers. some of these guys get so upset over seeing, especially a black man dressed better, driving something foreign, w/ much loot; they cannot stand that. they routinely beat brothas and sistas down, take their money and drugs and send them on their way. the frustration level is very high for some of these guys. they take what they want and dare you to say or do something about it. who are you going to tell? they will tell you in a minute they are the biggest and baddest gang around!!

Name: CalyQT
Comment: I thought this was a movie based on a true person not a documentary. As such, all facts do not have to be absolutly correct and are the intrepertation's of the writer.

Name: katrinamc
Comment: MsVanese-Thanks for that link! That is some real news and about time!
