(like sleeping with your best friend's wife, etc)..that was F-F-F-OWWL!!..now to the parents; no disrespect meant, but i was always under the assumption the legal age to vote, to join the military, to be considered an adult, etc, was 18 yrs old. your daughter was 21, she's legal to do whatever she wants to do..it takes two to tangle.

Comment: I agree there are two issues here: Kelly's infidelity (wonder what Mrs. Kelly has to say), and the possible manipulation of a friend's daughter. It's hard to believe R and Maxine just started making eyes after she turned 18 or 21. If that is the case, the Daniels have the right to be hurt and upset. As a much older adult R should have exercised better decision-making skills, and taken the lead on resisting temptation. I agree with George that a person (even a legal adult) who is much younger is usually manipulated by someone a lot older because he/she has more experience and maturity. Still, the Daniels need to face reality and accept that their daughter probably willingly kicked it with R. Are they upset that their daughter kept a secret, just like R did? I can understand George being mad that R lied to him since they were friends, but Maxine the adult does not have to tell her parents about her relationships.

@ Nightshift: You're RIGHT. When someone is on the prowl, there are no boundaries and all bets are off so there are no boundaries when it comes to someone who is a predator. I believe she is an adult woman and made her own decisions, but I also believe that he had his eye on her long before that (and I am suspicious about whether or not something happened PRIOR to the age of 18). Why, oh, why, as you say, would someone think their child is exempt from him I don't know.
@ Sexee: I believe the evil vines that have been curving around R-Kelly all of these years have came back and choked THEM. Bottom line, they knew all that other golden shower stuff was going on, and as you say turned a blind eye to it. Again, there are NO LOYALTIES OR BOUNDARIES when it comes to someone and what they desire. And taking a stance should be taking a stand for everyone, not because it impacted you and yours.

Now, I'm watching my sister go through the same thing. She's quick to talk about other women, but her husband does what the hell he wants to do. She thinks people don't know because she's big in the church and always quick with advice about everyone else's situation.
It goes deeper than low self esteem. It is flat out emotional and financial dependence as well as a desire to keep fronting. They tell themselves that their husbands/boyfriends are not really cheating. They also tell themselves that stds, including HIV/Aids will never touch their lives.
I know a woman who stayed with her husband after he gave her vd. She just cussed him out.

A new controversy -- again with sexual innuendo surrounding it -- is swirling around Chicago-based R&B king R. Kelly. But over the weekend, I found out that much of this may be connected to an attempt by a former Kelly employee to snare a big financial settlement from the Grammy winner.
It all started when George Daniels, the husband of ex-Kelly publicist Regina Daniels, dissed Kelly on a Los Angeles radio show last week. George Daniels accused Kelly of having an "inappropriate" relationship with his daughter, Maxine -- who Daniels claimed the rapper had known since she was "a little girl."
The implications were obvious, given that Kelly still is battling charges (which he continues to deny) that he had sex with a Chicago girl who was in her early teens and videotaped the encounter.
First reported by the TMZ gossip website, the L.A. radio interview got a quick response Friday from Kelly's camp. Referring to Daniels' "adult daughter," a Kelly representative issued a statement alleging that the couple had "no problem with the relationship -- indeed they encouraged it -- while Ms. Daniels was on Mr. Kelly's payroll."
Regina Daniels, who is the young woman's stepmother, had been Kelly's publicist until being fired last year. According to a source inside Kelly's camp, she was terminated "for cause ... for being totally incompetent" -- a charge Daniels denies, insisting it was due to a disagreement over how to market Kelly's image.
According to Kelly's current spokesfolks, it was Regina Daniels who vigorously pushed Kelly to attend her stepdaughter's 21st birthday, plus gave his private cell phone number to Maxine and told her to call him.
**My Kelly camp insider says this is all about the fact that Regina Daniels has been seeking "a healthy six-figure settlement" from Kelly "to go away quietly. . . . When she learned she wasn't going to get it, she and her husband decided to go this route as a way to collect."
