Comment: I read an article online somewhere that said that the hair used in wigs and weaves come from India & China. In particularly, India, because of the booming hair market, women with long hair are being preyed upon by gangs and having their hair forcibly cut. All in the name of beauty. At least, some of the wigs that Patti is marketing is synethic hair. Personally, I think wigs are a waste of time and if black women just took better care of their hair, these folks would not be in business. Of course, the beauty business preys on the insecurities of women.

Comment: it's not always in the name of beauty. There are some people who really need them, i.e. chemo patients? in which many of them are "us"? don't be so quick to say these folks should not be in business. just a thought.

Comment: true,.! i think it fashion with wigs as well, seen plenty with well cared hair but the wigs/weave or quicker...

I'm talking about folks who wear it because they have messed their scalp and hair by not knowing how to take care of it properly. Others folks wear because they want to change up their hairstyle. All in all, it is still in the name of beauty.

Comment: Waaaaaaayyyy to many black women have weaves/wigs/fake hair!!!!! HOW SAD! It's as though ya'll can't FUNCTION rockin' what GOD gave you, but spend $$$$$ for some other womens hair and glue it to YOUR head. It sends a message to your daughters/young sistas that their hair is ugly/not good enough. In turn they feel inferior because their hair is not like "becky's". BE YOU!!! SAY 'NO' TO FAKE HAIR!! BAN WEAVES IN THE COMMUNITY!! REINFORCE BLACK BEAUTY!! (Health patients excluded!)
