Comment: this is old news, EUR, you gotta bring it faster . . . today's news is how McCain is being "smeared"(?) by the report of an affair that may have happened ten years ago . . . the culprit is the New York Times which had the story for at least two months but did not publish it . . . The New York Times is being criticized in a New Republic magazine article with one of the points of contention being the hold on the McCain article . . . if the smear masters are willing to eat Republicans, O-BA-MA!! and the clintons will be getting increasingly more toxic media coverage like the so-called bin Laden picture mistake . . . so, Hillary supporters, do you really think that the press is providing soft coverage of O-BA-MA!!

Comment: Chris Mathews got put in his place by that elected official who supports Obama. She laid out what he has done since becoming a U.S. Senator underscoring that he was able to get legislation passed that others couldn't AND that he can work with ALL people (the underlying message is that Hillary is divisive and really can't bring people together). Mathews is gunning to get Hillary elected - every night his show is about how can she beat Obama. God is in this and Obama WILL win.

This was planned and he is definately racist. I watched him once and had to turn the channel. He is very angry about Barack being the front runner. He grilled a Barack spokesman. He wants people to have the impression that Barack is an empty substance. This made me so angry. But, nothing can stop the plans of GOD, not even a white man! So, good luck trying!

Should the person behind that be fired too? IMO this isn't a big deal cuz i have heard 50-11 references to Obama's name. Since we can't say this Osama thing is racist, what do we say it is..."tasteless?" Lets face it, Obama sounds like Osama and we should expect people to be low-grade. This is a non-story. Re: Matthews, I watch Chris six days a week. He is the last person who I believe is gunning for Hillary..the last. In fact, he is often criticized for being anti-Clinton and sexist. He often gets overexcited and ends up issuing apologies. He had to do so the other week when he said that the only reason Hillary became a Senator is because of Bill. Yes the media is full of shyt. Comment: My sister lives in a small country town in Kentucky. She works at Black & Decker. To make a long story short, most of the people that work around her are white. She mentions Barack at work and she said alot of them believe he is trying to get himself killed. That kind of shocked me a little. My parents feel the same way. That if Barack wins, that a white person will try to kill him. Do you guys think that it is a slave belief or just reality? My mother and I argue back and forth about this all the time. She of course is for Hiliary and she thinks that I'm fooling my self to believe that Obama can make change. But, Martin Luther King brought about change, Harriet Tubman, brought about change, and Rosa Parks brought change. So, I don't understand why some of our older people have a hard time believing that a new generation can bring some change. I know it want change everything. But, I do believe, Barack is showing how America is changing just by making it this far! Does anyone know how I can open my parents eyes? They don't have to change their vote, I just want them to see that it is possible?

I think a good lawyer could argue though that that Bin Laden thing had bigoted undertones, but I support firing because it was highly unprofessional and imo it's only okay to be "low-grade" when you're not passing yourself off as "news," ie talk radio or opinion pieces or something. Btw, I think Schuster is a good journalist too and though at first I thought the suspension was warranted, when I later found out that Chelsea Clinton WAS actually kinda "pimped" out--I think there was some kind of win-a-date-with-Chelsea contest or something--it brought that whole story together and I think there was overaction...mostly from Hillary (surprise, surprise) lol

The fact that osama is bushit's embarras.sment should keep the slanted as.s media from making jokes about their boy but this proves how desperate they are that they would trot out a terrorist and try to make Obama's name synonymous with it! Nothing terrorist should have even been easily accessible to this cretin as politricks has taken center stage and if this media boy isn't trying to help find osama - fukk he pull that picture out for? *rhetorical question* you know as well as I do but the voting public is appearing more intelligent than that - just check billary's numbers and pay attention to the lack of excitement there is in her camp.

Comment: NYCSoul..it's impossible for any semi-sane person to believe that Hillary was not elected due to her husband. It will be the same if Chelsea or the Obama kids runs for office, they will say it's because of the family name. The Clinton's played the whole sex thing just as people accused Obama of playing race (which his camp has never done). Hillary is one of only 12 Senators who have never held public office prior to their win. So what else explains the fact that a woman who has never held office ends up winning in a state she wasn't a resident of? Not a local/congressional seat but the US Senate. Come on stop playing. But I agree he shouldn't have had to apologize. TGen, I think it was in bad taste and they should be dealt with. I do not understand why they wouldn't tell the public who the person was and what was the nature of the reprimand. Whoever it was, they thought they were being funny when it was not. The term "pimped out" is another colloquialism that has been redefined. He made the statement w/in the context of talking about how the Clinton's have never put her out there b4 until now because they kept her away from the public. He actually said, "There's just something a little bit unseemly to me that Chelsea's out there calling up celebrities, saying support my mom, and she's apparently also calling these super delegates. But doesn't it seem like Chelsea's sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?" I could see people thinking it was offensive. Maybe popular jargon (which pimped out is) shouldn't be used on the public airwaves since it's not understood by everyone...then again....

Comment: WASHINGTON - Barack Obama won the Democrats Abroad global primary in results announced Thursday, giving him 11 straight victories in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The Illinois senator won the primary in which Democrats living in other countries voted by Internet, mail and in person, according to results released by the Democrats Abroad, an organization sanctioned by the national party.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has not won a nominating contest since Super Tuesday, more than two weeks ago.
More than 20,000 U.S. citizens living abroad voted in the primary, which ran from Feb. 5 to Feb. 12. Obama won about 65 percent of the vote, according to the results released Thursday.
Voters living in 164 countries cast votes online, while expatriates voted in person in more than 30 countries, at hotels in Australia and Costa Rica, at a pub in Ireland and at a Starbucks in Thailand. The results took about a week to tabulate as local committees around the globe gathered ballots.

Comment: This really gives Americans an opportunity to participate," said Christine Schon Marques, the international chair of Democrats Abroad.
Italian Sports Minister Giovanna Melandri, who has dual citizenship, cast a vote for Obama in Rome.
"It wasn't an easy choice for me. I would still love seeing a ticket with Obama and Hillary (Clinton)," Melandri told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "A drive for change is what is needed in the U.S. and I think that Obama has that drive."
There is no comparable primary among Republicans, though the GOP has several contests this weekend in U.S. territories, including party caucuses in Puerto Rico Sunday.
The Democrats Abroad controls seven pledged delegates at the party's national convention this summer. However, the group's system of dividing the delegates is unique, and could create an anomaly in which Obama and Clinton end up with fractions of delegates.
The party will send 14 pledged delegates to the convention, each with a half vote. The primary was used to determine nine people, or the equivalent of 4.5 delegates. Obama won 2.5 and Clinton won two, according to Schon Marques.
The Democrats Abroad will hold a global convention in Vancouver, Canada, in April to select the other five people who will attend the convention. They will represent the remaining 2.5 votes.
The system creates the possibility that Obama and Clinton could each end up with an extra half vote at the convention, Schon Marques said.
Democratic parties in U.S. territories use similar systems, in which they send twice the number of delegates, giving them each a half vote. But their systems are designed to ensure that that candidates do not end up with fractions of delegates.
Heading into the Democrats Abroad primary, Obama led with 1,351 delegates, and Clinton had 1,262.

Comment: First of all; God don't like ugly. And Cyndy McCain saw this first-hand last night. Starting shyt about Michelle Obama's patriotism; putting my girl all on display and under fire. So I had a hearty laugh when they interrupted "Hardball" to break the McCain lobbyist story. Regardless if it turns into anything big; Cyndy McCain has to be embarrased and ashamed. She thinks she's this pristine, beautiful white woman and here her old, pasty white husband is, dealing inappropriately with a 40-year old younger version of her. Quite happy about that. I don't care if it WAS 8 years ago. And of course, it also makes me happy, because the day after John McCain stands there talking smack about Barack, he gets put on blast for ethical violations. All good. Secondly, I don't know what Chris Matthews deal is either, sometimes I feel he is for Barack, but lately, I just see him as another YT that can't be trusted. I just hate that he has the public media as a means to start shyt. The thing is, they have nothing factual about Obama that is negative, so they shyt-stir to keep the ratings up. The only person on MSNBC I like is Keith Olberman. He's down for Obama. There is little doubt to that. Also, Anderson Cooper on CNN is good peoples too. Thirdly, Bill O'Reilly's white azz needs to be fired ASAP for the lynching comment he made regarding Michelle Obama. I am so sick of these white folks.

Comment: bigchassie--Yes, Barack definitely got some foiness going on. He really carries himself well. Re: Bill O'Reilly: Keith Olberman reported it last night on "Countdown":
In a discussion of recent comments made by Michelle Obama, Bill O'Reilly took a call from a listener who stated that, according to "a friend who had knowledge of her," Obama " 'is a very angry,' her word was 'militant woman.' " O'Reilly later stated: "I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down." That's what he said.

Comment: The real meat in the McCain story to me was not so much the affair, but his assistance of a lobbyist in pushing forward legislation that was related to his role as a committee chair in Congress. THAT was the story, and no one's really playing up that angle. Hell... the NY times led with the whole affair angle. Because at the end of the day John McCain is going to say trust me, I've reformed the actions that led to my reprimand in the Savings & Loan debacle of the late 80s. I introduced campaign and ethics reform in Congress. But if the story is really told, here we have Mr. Straight Talk Express giving a lobbyist with a 'questionable' relationship with him getting special (illegal) treatment. Makes me go hmmm.

Comment: Deb70..did you see Ken Olberman last night; he hates O'Reilly with a passion and he played Dubya's clip regarding the use of words like "lynching and hanging nooses" and then lit into O'Reilly. .Olberman said obviously he didn't get the message and wondered why he wasn't disciplined and/or fired. He was red in the face and was nearly spitting fire when he signed off..said watch the debate if you must but turn to him to decipher it and then said Good Luck. Between him and Abrams I was cracking up last night!!

Comment: Exmum, you nailed it. THAT is the story...and if true it's nothing short of hilarious that this is the same guy trying to call Obama out for being "inconsistent" on his so-called pledge to not accept donations from private citizens, lol. Deb70, I'm surprised EUR didn't mention O'Reilly's racist "lynching" comment. (Okay, not really, lol) But I guess crying over it would be a waste of time becuz his job is secure and what he said is acceptable on the kind of network he's on. *Sigh* BlkATLTop, I've been wondering about why the MSM is sitting on that gay/drug story too, so far it's only been a whisper in political media. Personally, I say the story has holes, the biggest being the guy is suing...for what? lol He sounds like he might not be all there (upstairs) but unfortunately we know that doesn't mean he can't cause damage, evil can be a powerful thing. Let's hope that story goes the way of the wind.

Comment: To Khufu: It just dawned on me why Chris Mathews and others are being so supporitve of hillary. It's because they know she's going to lose and don't want her saying the press was in Obama's lap. So if Keith Oberman and Mathews keep saying 'how can she beat Obama' they can't be accused of siding with Obama. Then when Obama wins they can say what a loser they really thought she was. What do you thing K?

Comment: oshun--just politely butting in; I watched the show with Chris Matthews and his slavery comment. There was a sista on the show, and she was trying to interpret what Michelle meant. She commented on the inequities that African Americans have faced in this country, and that it was wonderful that we have come so far, that in this moment in time, all races are coming together to support an African American presidential candidate. This is what she felt Michelle was attempting to convery. Chris kind of piggy-backed on that and brought up slavery, and how it was actually written into the Constitution, and that black people have indeed been marginalized in this society, and that he can kind of understand on that level where Michelle may have been coming from with her comment that she is now proud of this country, given what it's history has been. Someone please correct me if they interpreted his comments differently. Also, someone told me about the KKK supporting Barack and I thought that was the craziest shyt I ever heard. Now I'm starting to wonder if the mess is true now that I'm reading it here too. That is the last thing we need.

The black lady was the one who initiated the possible racial element and she wasn't been "woe is us black folk" about it. She simply stated that she could understand it as an african-american.

Comment: For YEARS "THEY" have made these kind of "MISTAKES"! It never seems to be important enough to "GET IT RIGHT" about US! The SAME RESOURCES are at THEIR disposal JUST LIKE they are when THEY report about WHITE people, & THEY NEVER make THOSE KIND OF "MISTAKES" about WHITES! You know like calling Tupac..."2 PACK"! Or say a BLACK celebrity is with another celebrity..THEY don't get the names right or don't even MENTION the BLACK celebrity! And now they want us to believe that this was an HONEST mistake?? THEY ARE feeling THREATENED! This man was NOT supposed to be here, KICKIN THEIR %*$ & THEY ARE SOOOOO DESPERATE, THEY WILL BE DOING ANYTHING TO TRY to STOP HIS MOMENTUM! But the "people are speaking" LOUDER than THEIR TRICKS! so, HOPEFULLY it won't make a difference! P.S.....Did anyone notice last night how Hillary called out Obama on the "speech copying" (of someone who WORKS FOR HIM,mind you!) & then TURNED RIGHT AROUND & COPIED ALMOST EXACTLY what John Edwards said earlier about how "the candidates were gonna be alright,it's the American Public we should be concerned about! See...THIS "B" is a LYING,MANIPULATIVE,(also CONTROLLING! the way she DISREGARDED the moderators!) HYPOCRITE!!! But I guess DESPERATE people will do DESPERATE THINGS!

Say Obama DOES get the nod...If "something happens" to challenge his safety or health, B/c of this "support" THEY might NOT be suspected with the ALIBI of "supporting" him! I mean, WHEN the hell have THEY EVER preferred a BLACK person OVER a WHITE person??? THAT shyt is FAKE!! Stevie Wonder can see that!!!
