Comment: okay,i want to see this movie! how come there was no publicity on this? yall trying to keep this movie on the downlow too? i heard rumors about a movie comming out about being on the downlow. i want to see this!

Name: iowagee
Comment: It looks better than a lot of those films out there now. 27 Dresses gets pub alllllll daayyyyyy looooonnnnng. Give a sister some sunshine!!!

Name: iowagee
Comment: Oh yeah...regarding 27 Dresses...It was wiggity-wack!

Comment: bigchassie, unfortunately the same thing happened with the stellar movie Seven Days. It was held to little fanfare although it deserved to have plenty of it. Not a movie about being on the downlow, but it does address HIV. If you haven't seen that, I would highly recommend it. But yes, this movie appears to be one I would gladly see.

Comment: I wonder what happened to Leo Jackson- the dude who originally came up with the script? Based on how it's written in the EUR article, it sounds like dude got cut out of the deal. At any rate, I heard about this on the TJMS yesterday morning. Sounds like it will be good.

Comment: Oh yeah, I'm seeing this one. But then again, I'll see anything with (phoine-azz) Leon in it--

Name: bigchassie
Comment: LUKE>you right cause i have never heard of Seven Days. what was that movie about. AQUA BOOGIE> i don't know, but i heard that Leon was on the other side too. in fact he's "very close" with Bob (BET) Johnson.

Name: Luke_Cage
Comment: Correction on that movie title: it wasn't 7 days. It's called One Week. (duhh)

Name: gingerg
Comment: I will definitely see this movie as well. For some reason, we think that if we don't acknowledge or talk about issues like dl, HIV/AIDS, they will just go away. Not so. Folks are grown, so they can do what they want to do. However, I think it is absolutely disgusting to lead a double life and not give your lover, husband/wife, etc. the option of staying or leaving once they are informed. The sneaking around and lying would make me drop a person in the blink of an eye.

Comment: One Week is about this guy who's a soon-to-be groom who learns that he may have contracted HIV from a former girlfriend. He has to wait a full seven days for the test results and this ensuing week turns out to be the most hectic week of his life. Oh, and the kicker... he is getting married in ONE WEEK. Quite frankly, it's one of the most scariest movies I've seen.

Comment: >bigchassie: well I'm a "man's man" myself, so that Leon rumor suits me just fine--

Comment: This movie looks very good. I hope it's as good as the trailers make it seem!

Name: SistaBigBone69
Comment: LUKE***One week was an excellent movie. If I am not mistaken that was one of Showtime featuring up and coming writer/producers. Showtime only aired it during black history month. That is one movie everybody should see. If you have never been tested that movie either can make you go get tested or scare the he?? out of you not to be tested.

Name: Luke_Cage
Comment: SistaBigBone69, if that movie doesn't make folks go out and get themselves tested, they are better folk than me. Luckily for me, I'd had several tests before that flick, and a few afterwards since I'm now married. The wife doesn't play that being in the medical field already. But still and all, it was a frightening movie. I felt loads of tension for Varon!

Comment: Wow! I will try to check this out. I'm glad to see Miss Viv working. I'm also happy to see that they put an relative "unknown" in the lead role and surrounded her with bonafide talent. That's a great way to get a sista noticed. I hope it does well. LUKE- I saw "One Week" a few years ago at a black film festival in ATL. It was a TRIP! It really makes you think.

Comment: 1 out of 7 men in DC infected w/HIV?! And nobodies talkin about this? Damn. Fvck the sugar and the giggles, folks need to wake the hell up!

Name: gingerg
Comment: No, they need to wrap the hell up and start getting into committed, monogamous relationships. There are a lot of high risk people out here. I was shocked by the DC stats, too. It is so sad.

Name: silver427
Comment: Sounds like a pretty good movie. How come I have not seen ONE commercial for it?!!!!! Things that make you say hmmmm....

Name: shawnl
Comment: I am just startled at those stats. ONE OUT OF EVERY 7 MEN IN DC ARE HIV POSITIVE!!! What is to become of us?

Name: Teigh
Comment: One Week is indeed one the best Black movies made this century PERIOD. I remember when it won Urban World. Folks were sitting in the aisle and they had to stop it and start it over because the demand to see it was so overwhelming. It's probably available via Amazon.com. I'm going to check this out this weekend. In NYC it's playing on 42nd St. at the AMC
