At first I was hoping to give the benefit of the doubt to White America, that maybe they'd be able to use common sense and realize, that just because someone praises someone does not make them "friends" or "allies," lol, but woe when I checked out a conversative site linked to the Drudge Report. Reading all those racist "I knew it all along" comments just made me sink down into my seat. Curiously, Drudge took that story off his webpage, at least it was gone when I just checked again. Comment: Unlike alot of black leaders who have shied away from publicly praising Obama, I was somewhat pleasantly surprised with some of the things Farakkhan said like praising Obama's ability to unify folks of all races, ages and religions. As I mentioned in another post, seeing that Farakkhan has referred to the white man as the devil on a number of occcasions he didn't seem to have a problem with Obama's biracial heritage. He even compared Obama to the Nation of Islams founder Fard Mohammed, who was also biracial. One person who does have a problem with Obama's mother and his supporters is hardcore Clinton supporter, Harlem Pastor Manning. Comment: I am really shocked at this. I thought there was an unwritten agreement among so-called African American "leaders" to hold tight, STFU and let this thing unfold. As an ex-member of the NOI, I'm suprised at the Minister for speaking on the election at all! I can't believe he didn't know that "the mischief makers" would automatically link him to BHO the minute he opened his mouth about him. HarrisThomas, I watched "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, and that's not the way I saw it. Basically, they made fun of both BHO and HRC. It was funny, and they did not have the bad taste to make fun of his names as was done on the Oscars last night. As for his safety, I think we can expect to see a huge cross burning on the White House lawn if he is elected. And THAT will only be the beginning.

Comment: I have never had a problem with the things Farrakhan says, at least he is consistent. However I have noticed of late there is a lot less 'the white man is the devil' speeches which for me means dude is mellowing out. The fact that he has a qualified opinion on Obama and there are thousands that agree with him just makes this more fodder for the billary machine. I choose to concentrate on what is real and that is there is a real possibility that Obama will smoke the competition. I choose not to listen to the backwards thinking that said they wouldn't vote for him because he might get killed. All of this has begun to sound to me like what we finally realized ole bushit was doing with the war on terror - keeping us scared to act or vote our conscience and I ain't havin' it!

The next two weeks are going to be the nastiest weeks in the political history of this country. Billary are fighting for their political future. When she does not succeed -- she will finish her term and not get re-elected (how can you support someone who has shown you who they really are) and Bill will no longer have the kind of access he sorely misses. Worse carse scenario as someone posted weeks ago (I think it was Big Black Rod) Billiary will succeed in ending the democratic party as we currently know it because they will split it in a way that it can never be repaired.

Comment: i doubt that it would split the party b/c the party in theory, should be based on ideals, not on people. as far as her staffers circulating a picture of him, why is that such a bad thing? he did go, he did wear the outfits, and it would be easily explained that it was customary to wear it there. i don't believe that most Americans are gullible enough to fall for it anyway.... if he gets the nod fine, if she gets it fine. this is about personality, and most people are rallying behind him. someone else on another board said something to the effect of people being taken in by him. I dunno myself, but as far as i know the flyers the obama camp were circulating had been disproved and pulled from circulation for corrections, and then resent out exactly the same. what's the meaning behind that. if she did that everyone would be in an uproar.

All I got to say is we've got a lot of work to do and cannot rest until Obama is President and Michelle is First lady. Obama is the only candidate capable of changing the course of the country, reversing the damage done by Reagan/Bush/Clinton era. He's a breath of fresh air. Yes, I'm still reading AUDACITY OF HOPE and challenge anyone who does not believe he's capable or experienced enough to be President to read about his positions on the issues facing this country. Although the Minister did speak complimentary of Sen. Obama, he said he would not tell any one of his followers how to cast their vote, but he did say they should vote "their own self-interest."

The nastiest comments I have read about Obama's patriotisim, affiliations, and intentions are from those who are frankly still Bush supporters. They not have to announce this fact--it is in the between the lines of everything they say. His middle name is important to those hicks!! What the Obama camp needs to do now is not only focus on the issues BUT run a PR campaign in the vein of getting to know Barack. Farah didn't endorse Obama..instead he just offered nice things to say about him. Therefore it is no reason for the response. She never said it was "boon" and the paper had long retracted that one word. The other said that Hill wants to force people to buy healthcare they can't afford. That is the controversy over the mailing that got this crazy bytch spinning out of control. You would think he got personal or at least was something so far removed from reality. So for this bytch to switch from "can we all get along mode" to "Meet me in the mthfng boxing ring" in a span of 48hrs reeks PSYCHOTIC! Some'n is wrong w/this bytch!

Maybe after 28 years of being known as Hillary Rodham, Hillary Rodham Clinton and now Hillary Clinton, people just pick one. Either way the formal title and first/last names are used interchangeably throughout.

If he did away with NAFTA, I truly believe that in itself will boost the economy and if he lifts the trade embargo with Cuba, that will help also. We trade with the Chinese and their communists. Cuba is not a threat to the US and never has been, its just Fidel wasn't a punk. People everywhere simply want something new and regardless that he's black, he's got a vision that's giving us hope and at least he will attempt to fix what's been broken. I remember HRC stating how she would make healthcare mandatory and we would have to pay for it, but he says he will make it affordable and if its not, we'll figure something else out. Which is the better of the 2? I pay for my health coverage but after I get my medication, I might as well have paid for the doctor visit and got some free samples!

So it has been covered..maybe just not to the degree of which some (Tavis) would like. More importantly, the things many of us "want" to deal w/will have to begin at the local level. That means we have to ask the things we require of Obama to our local congressmen/senators FIRST..then they take it up on the hill..then they take it b4 the president. It seems as if all elections blind us to simple facts. The president executes. He does not write laws. I live in DC and I can azzure you that there is no lack of job training programs for youth adults, drug treatment programs, tutoring programs which are FREE all across the city.

The Drudge Report has the photo front and center with the headline "Clinton staffers circulate "dressed" Obama. In other words, the accusations are that the Clinton campaign is trying to use the photo to harm the Obama campaign after a very contentious weekend where Hillary was all over the map in her criticism of the frontrunner Barack Obama.
There is just over a wee to go until it could all be over for Hillary, as the votes will be cast in Ohio and Texas. Is she really that desperate? Staffer says no, they had nothing to do with the release and distribution of the photo.

The white vote is important to Obama. White people fear Farrakhan and Muslims- domestic and international. If Farrakhan had spoken sooner, that IOWA win may have been in jeopardy. The thing that makes Obama palatable to whites is that he's half white and appears to be on *everybody's* side. Which is why I spoke in general about us not having the political clout or savvy to raise important issues that affect us before election time. However, their funding is provided by the federal government for some of these programs. We do not have a direct quote indicating her campaign told us she thought it was good for the economy at that time. Also, for that matter, Clinton's campaign did not contact us to question the item after it appeared in print.
Obama's use of the citation in this way does strike us as misleading. The quote marks make it look as if Hillary said "boon," not us. It's an example of the kind of slim reeds campaigns use to try to win an office.
That said, we should have been clearer.

He's a viable, serious candidate with a great knowledge of the issues facing this country and the desire to do something about it and unite everyone because every American has a stake in this country. Basically, I'm through with Hillary because of her dripping sarcasm today. I'm not delusional voting for Obama; but I'm beginning to think I'm delusional for even supporting Hillary because she should know that a divided Democratic House cannot stand and because she's losing the fight is getting dirty. Hillary Clinton did speak in support of NAFTA on several occasions...in several news articles and in her memoir, she called it a "legislative victory" for her husband. Do you research. The Michael Del Gorno show for the past week has been posing the question why the Obama story hasn't been getting the attention the McCain story has. He said that he doesn't believe innuendos and gossip should be printed without real proof. He said that an independent group or source paid they guy $10,000 to take the test and he failed both tests given to be more accurate he was found to be deceptive on both tests given to him. I hear you about taking it personally. I remind myself daily that everyone has the right to support whomever they like whether it is O, HRC or some republican. Normally I'm fine with that, but I think b/c of the reality that a black man could become president makes us more emotional than reasonable at times.

I really hope all the black people see that this is a door that only God has opened while we are alive to see us have a black president! When I went around the bouroughs getting people to vote Mr. David Dinkens as Mayor. He won and was a great mayor for New York! Our young black babies and adults need to see that anything is possible for them to achieve in a positive way, instead of being a rapper or drug dealer!
