Comment: Stacy Brown is a LIAR! That's the same thing he did on the witness stand during MJ's trial and he got busted. He and Bob Jones contradicting each other's testimony, it was embarrassing. Both of them are just bitter because they got kicked to the curb and no longer have access to some of the Jackson family members.

Name: nightshift
Comment: I guess the Jackson still have some pull, 'cause this dogh-boy is tap-dancing!! A paragraph can be a mistake, this story was quite a spread fact or fiction was too involved.

Name: McNasty
Comment: It did not say the story was untrue.

Name: iowagee
Comment: Well, I'll find out if Marlon is really working at Von's..."Ding! Clean up in aisle 6"

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: OK, so Marlon was staying at a extended stay hotel when his house was being renovated...He was seen stocking shelves 'cause he knocked some cans over while shopping and was simply putting the sh1t back...WTF?...I thought a paper had to validate the sources...Ok, so Randall was working on cars maybe it's 'cause he likes to work on cars....Some of 'em may be resting on their laurels but them muthafuccers ain't destitute...Jermaine may be a greasy muthafuccer but...What they need to do is arrange a tour called "To 'fro and back"...They can tour with the Sylvers and Debarge...(The ones who ain't in jail)...The big-azzed fro tour...yeah, I might drop a quarter to see that sh1t..."Here a 'fro, there a 'fro everywhere we go a 'fro"....

Comment: BOOT you damn near made me spit coffee all on my keyboard.....TOOO FUNNNY!

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: LMAO @ Boot. You never seem to fail us with your humor. cosign McNasty, maybe the author went too far in an effort to embellish the details but that one little quote does not discredit the entire story. Hell, even DiLeo stated that maybe it was something from 30 years ago. In a effort to prove of disprove the story, what someone can do is to walk into Von's and simply ask "Does Marlon Jackson work here"? If he's really stocking shelves I'm sure he won't be hard to find. I hope it's not the truth. I would hate to see music legends go out like this.

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: @chassie the company that made the afro pick, you know the one with the closed fist on the handle, could serve as co-sponsor LOL.

Name: Grace12_34
Comment: Like I said yesterday, I don't believe a WORD of it (except for the part about Michael comparing himself to Job).

Name: showtime
Comment: Seems to me, IF Marlon was working in a supermarket, SOMEBODY would have taken his picture by now. I mean, everybody and their momma got a camera phone, I'm "surprised" that nobody has captured Marlon on film yet. As a matter of fact, since Stacy Brown is "claiming" that Marlon works at a certain supermarket, he could have gone there himself and taken a picture of Marlon. Or Brown could have sent someone there to take a picture of Marlon. Now that would have definitely given his story some credibility. LOL!

Name: yasmine1
Comment: If what that liar Stacy Brown said was true... TMZ would have been all over that months ago.. the story is bull. Its funny how peeps are quick to believe the worst..

Name: yasmine1
Comment: Karma is a %*$!(.. and Stacy Brown & Bob Jones.. will meet her one day...

Name: Mas90
Comment: Someone on here said this story would be retracted the next day.... and it was!

Name: bigchassie
Comment: MAS>yep, it sho was!

Name: showtime
Comment: yasmine, I don't know about Brown, but Bob Jones IS experiencing some of that "karma." He's been in the business for many years now, but nobody wants to work with him. I thought by now, some artist would have linked up with him, but there have been no takers. Once upon a time, Jones had a good relationship with the folks over at BET, that relationship is now broken and he is persona non grata. There was a documentary late last year, and they showed Brown's home, which is a beat up, broken down bungalow. I thought surely he had a cute little condo, in the hip part of town. I like to say "you reap, what you sow." That's what I call it.

Name: showtime
Comment: Oops, I meant to say, in the documentary they showed BOB JONES' home. Not Stacy Brown's home.

Comment: Anyone on board resides in the San Diego area? Can you please walk into your neighborhood Von's supermarket and ask for Marlon. If he's employed there please report back to us. Man, I sure hope this ain't true. How they gonna hire a Jackson to stack cans. They could have easily hired him to write the store jingle or make the store announcements in harmony.

Comment: Marlon's daughter, Valencia used to work with me and she was the sweetest person you'd ever want to meet. She was always smiling and happy so if her parents were struggling that bad, I'm almost certain, it would have shown. I saw the pics of her parents' house in Del Mar and trust me it was beautiful. Plus if he was working at a Vons here in San Diego, our black newspaper, the Voice and Viewpoint would have been on that story a long time ago. When Valencia had her first son, she had pics of all her family and they seemed to be so excited because it was the first grandchild for Marlon and his wife. I think this is BS, well about Marlon it is. There are not that many Vons supermarkets in San Diego anyway and somebody would have notice Marlon Jackson just like I did when I went into Valencia's office. She has all the pictures on the wall and I asked her, has anyone ever told you your dad looks like Marlon Jackson and she laughed and said, he is my Dad and then reminded me that her last name is hypenated. She never made mention that her Dad was Marlon Jackson and she was so humble...she was really nice!

Name: bigchassie
Comment: STEPHANIE>you know i remember when the Jacksons first came out. all of them were cute, except marlon. but as they got older, marlon was the cutest one.

Name: Taurusingr
Comment: All I can say is....Something else REAL IMPORTANT MUST BE going on....Their talking about MJ/Jacksons....AGAIN!!!! In a word....DISTRACTION!!!

Name: MomaKnowz
Comment: Hmmm. It seems to me that a Jackson baby moma story surfaced not long ago that supported some of this. That woman was one of Jermaine's I believe. And Janet was angry because the girl, and her babies were said to be living with and off of Mother Jackson whom it is said that Janet supports. That story had Janet supposedly angry that her brother wasn't stepping up to the plate and getting his babies and baby moma off of HER mother. So, perhaps this story isn't as far fetched as it appears. Face it, the only financially solvent Jacksons have been Janet and Mijac. Even Mijac isn't broke according to what *most* people call broke. It's like when MC Hammer declared bankruptcy. He was broke according to his former standards, not according to most poor folks standards. He still moved into a six figure home between $300-$500,000! That ain't broke to most people.

Name: yasmine1
Comment: Stephanie, thanks for that post..you vouched for Marlon.. and I can assure you that the others are not on the breadline either or stocking groceries..or fixing cars for a living.. maybe just maybe.. Randy owns a few car repair shows and others work for him...?? anyways.. don't believe everything you read.. to think anyone can just put a quote in a story and put a name to it.. just because...

Name: Zumbagirl
Comment: They NY Post piece was probably an exaggeration (e.g., why would Michael want to see his family broke), however there are elements of truth. It's a matter of public record that the parents, Jermaine, Tito and Randy have all filed bankruptcy. Go look it up. And, can anyone identify exactly what it is that any of the brothers (outside of Michael) do to earn a living? Royalties you say? From what? They haven't cut an album in nearly two decades. And they didn't write any of the classic J-5 tunes. And none of them have produced any group anybody's heard of or written a book. So no, it wouldn't surprise me that they may be quietly earning a living like ordinary folk -- and what's wrong with that? Not that they could not earn decent money playing in small venues like some of the other oldschoolers, if they are willing to do that. I think a J-5/Sylvers/DeBarge revue would great. And no, I'm not a "hater," I'm just sayin' . . . .

Name: SewRite
Comment: It was reported on a news show that Marlon is NO LONGER employed at the Von's(they did show it) in question. So, go figure. You know several posters feel that it's beneath a Jackson to accept "ordinary work". But, not to me it isn't. A real man will accept DECENT work if he has to rather than be a lazy slacker. Think about it. If you don't have a degree, any marketable skills, and your business endeavors have failed than what other options are there? The impression I got from Jermaine was that he felt he was too good to work an ordinary job, and so he would rather live off of Katherine.

Name: yasmine1
Comment: Zumbagirl, yes.. they too 1% fact and sprinkled it with fantasy dust.. and they do get royalties from the Jackson albums they have under Sony when they left Motown..and their agreement with Motown after the lawsuit is that any use of J5 imagine/music post 1980 they are to get royalties on... J5 music is and imagine is used all over Europe with various companies like Blockbusters and movies soundtracks..

Name: yasmine1
Comment: no there is nothing wrong with working.. they grew up poor so they know..and Motown..worked them to death..so they know... what is wrong is when facts are not written ... 1/2 truths and made up quotes..

Name: SewRite
Comment: Zumbagirl>Co-sign to the max. Your post compliments mine. See mine below yours. And, I don't feel sorry for any of them. They have made more money than the majority of people will in a lifetime. They could have gone to school, got degrees, learned trades, started businesses, invested, etc. They have had plenty of time to look to the future and be set for life!!

Name: Afordlove
Comment: Beat It. Who Cares maybe they can all learn how to shine shoes.

Name: yasmine1
Comment: Sewrite, would the TV show be Insider Edition?? well, Inside Edition did a piece about Marlon working at the grocery store and they found "a Marlon Jakson" had worked at Von's in ....dun dun dunnn.... 2006. Yes, TWO years ago... and he worked there for only 3 months. Want to bet its not that Marlon Jackson?

Name: Zumbagirl
Comment: SewRite: Co-sign back atcha. I too read the interview where Jermaine said, I believe in connection with a child support matter, that he could only choose work that would not be detrimental to the marketability of his name or some such nonsense. Part of the problem is that as a group they were fantastic, but individually only Janet and Michael have the necessary IT factor, i.e., star quality. So, I agree with you that getting a degree or developing other skills or businesses would have been smart. I do support a J-Bro comeback, but sadly at the moment they are D-listers.

Name: SewRite
Comment: Yasmine1>Yes, it was Inside Edition. And, you have a good point. It could very well have been another Marlon Jackson. So unless I hear Marlon himself confirm this, I'm not accepting this as fact. In fact, the last thing I read about Marlon was here on Eurweb. Something about him being involved in a cable tv venture.

Name: TMan
Comment: The part about Randy working on cars was it? I saw an old interview of MJ's and it it he said I think either Randy or Tito was a car fanatic. This was from the 70s. So it sounds like that could have been an assumption that the man is broke and working as a car mechanic (hey. car mechanics do well!) or either they coulda just seen the man workin on some cars he owns (maybe one of his own). This article seems to have a lot of holes in it and wrong assumptions.

Comment: Uh, isn't a Von's gig a UNION job?
