Comment: Personally I would not call this racism, lets get it together people nobody picked up the bey and jay junk cause nobody new if it was real or fake! Everybody new when Parker and Eva was gettin married cause they were every where you could not watch a spurs game without hearing bout their stupid weddin! I am pretty sure if Bey and Jay want their weddin pics on a major mag they can get it! I know one thing for sure I am not holding my breathe! Yo black folks should be happy maybe they are holding out to put the pics in Ebony, Essence, or Jet I mean help out an African American base mag for a change why do they have to go to white based mag???? Give back to your own community! Again I am not holding my breathe!

Name: blaquebaby
Comment: My fault people just read over my comment it should be "Knew instead of new" LOL calm down I am not that slow!

Name: NappyHeadedHoe
Comment: So what?! When will Black people stop crying racism? If THEY dont want YOU on their cover, THEY dont have to put you there! Who was the last white person that had the cover story on Ebony? Essence? Sista 2 Sista? Black Enterprise? Didn't WE create the aforementioned magazines (and more) because we were being neglected by the mainstream media? So why are Black folks still complainging? Should they be on the magazines geared towards US, AND the mainstream magazines? GTFOH! You cant have it both ways! If you want to scream racism, complain about the fact that we are still having "Miss BLACK USA" pageants. A woman of color was just crowned Miss USA (as has several others since Vanessa Williams) so why dont we get rid of it? You can't have it both ways!

Name: Taurusingr
Comment: NappyHeadedHo: I think the difference in this is, Jay & Bey appeal to more than blacks, make money with more than blacks,And we know if either one of them do/did something..."F'd" up...They will be/would've been ALL OVER those mags!! Even if them getting married was unknown or a B.S, story...when was the last time they DIDN'T print a B.S. or "speculation" story about YT!!??? I'll save you the inquiry...NEVER!!! Hell, that's all they cover now anyway!!! Plus, the Miss Black America thing is necessary as long as they put ONLY ONE black man/women on the bachelor/bachelorette &/or Flava Flav & that beeaaaatch N.Y. are the ONLY BLACK dating/marrying shows!! Hell, they'd rather have a show about marrying a damn midget (and they DID!!), than a DECENT black dating/marrying show!! They have to address black people/ the racism issue seriously & with some damn respect!! Until then...everyone ESPECIALLY black people, has to celebrate THEIR accomplishments b/c as we see with this story...THEY/YT ain't fare wit it!! P.S. I bet if you count the whites vs.the blacks who have won....I bet there is a higher percentage of whites than blacks!! And there ain't NEVER been a damn "shortage" of fine %*$ sistas!!! So, as long as they "trip", we have to have BOTH, their shyt & OUR shyt!! One!

Comment: Every knows that white american media reports on black celebrity entirely different than white celebrity - they give us daily updates on what britney spears is doing, but, I don't even think Entertainment Tonight mentioned Bey and Jay's wedding but one time - this is nothing new.....

Name: huey
Comment: "lost is the african american who turns to white media for black validation, less u shall walk with cataracts over your cornea's"....by philosopher huey...

Name: nightshift
Comment: White, blue, green, tan, red media like me, don't care two shitts about beyondme and cameltoe. She was on the cover of "people" I bought it for the story on polygamy.

Name: Grace12_34
Comment: LOL@Nightshift. I say put them on the covers of Ebony, Jet and Essence and call it a day.

Name: bigfriend
Comment: Okay, this is what i am talking about. Racism? When people cry racism or bigotry too much that is why people do not listen when something serious happens- because blacks cry racism for every darn thing! Just like the guy said maybe they did not get covers because 1) no wedding pics 2) no confirmation of wedding 3) also they are not drug addicts or mired in all types of drama (britney). What do you report on if you have nothing but innuendos? Iwould not have put it on the cover too- what if it is not true? If you are interesting regardless of color the mag will sell.

Name: sdedee
Comment: Nightshift, I'm with you who gives a shyte. Dont put em on the cover of shyte, they did not want us to know anyway!!!! WHAT THE FL******K

Name: nightshift
Comment: Grace 12_34, You forgot Tiger-beat!!! I think the only thing I MAY be curious about are the dresses that her mother made. OOOOOO-weee, you know that they gotta be a hot mess!

Name: bigfriend
Comment: Nappyheadedhoe> I agree 1000%! Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Name: Kara
Comment: This may be a mute point, but OK was not the only magazine to have them on the front cover. People had them on the front cover too. With this being the 15th time there has been spectulation about a Jay Z and Beyonce wedding, I don't blame media outlets for not immediately reporting it. We've been bombarded with the few details the media does know about the wedding. They probably don't even have enough information about the wedding to do a front cover.

Name: andryce76
Comment: yes you know the only black covers that sell are the ones where blacks are in trouble let bey and JZ get arrested they will be on every cover

Name: MDhornet
Comment: Umm, how are they supposed to post pics of a wedding that hasn't been confirmed?

Name: dcdouglass01
Comment: Why is our acceptance by them so important to us? Symptomatic of a weak-minded people.

Name: McNasty
Comment: Why couldn't it just be that most folks thought they were already married or the real deal, most weren't interested! Here we go yet again yelling racism and it ain't even in the room.

Name: whynotme
Comment: i don't think this is about racism and they can't compare beyonce & jay z's wedding with eva longoria's wedding....eva wasn't hiding her relationship or wedding so that's different......nobody even knows whether jay & beyonce were in a relationship so how are they supposed to know about a "could-be" wedding.

Name: NYCsoul
Comment: We need to learn to pick our battles. Clearly, this is not one of them. Second, it is not 'Black people crying racism'. It is ONE or TWO Black persons complaining about a lack of coverage of the JayBey alleged 'marriage'. What does that have to do with 'Black people' in general?

Name: shell72
Comment: Nappyheadedhoe - I agree. Who cares. These are entertainment magazines. It's not like it's Time or Newsweek. Usher and his wife's pictures in Essence.com were beautiful. Not if they pulled a LisaRaye and sold their pictures to People and told Sister2Sister to go to hell, it'll would be a different story. But I have a sneaky suspicion Beyonce and them aren't happy with the lack of media coverage either.

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: Racism?....Maybe it was because they didn't tell nobody...He11, they did'nt tell me and I used to have relations with Bey...This was before Jay *(Wink)

Name: Teigh
Comment: Racism? Give me a break...this article (when I originally read it elsewhere is so conflicted. Please tell me why would JayZ and beyonce go to such gret lengths for PRIVACY only to be peeved when they didn't get any coverage? HELLO...THEY DIDN'T WANT ANY COVERAGE. I'm glad they didn't see the need to SELL their wedding photos (if they indeed got married). There are enough folks that have doomed this marriage already. Let them transition into the next phase of their relationship and move on to something else.

Name: Fran
Comment: Yeah, I am going to have to cosign with everyone here. No one knew if it was real... But I think this is what they are talking about. Word had it that Papa Knowles was shopping around for prices for the photos. So maybe that is it, it was found out that they were not offered much. But they wanted it private and are not saying they are married. So, I am not surprised she is not covered. But she is on one of the magazines, it says Secret Wedding. So, I think that this story is not really an issue. This is the race card right here

Name: PRDC
Comment: I think they wanted it just the way they had it. Media shouldn't have been there unless they were invited. Everybody with money opt not to be in the light all the time, so if you can control what, when and how...do it by all means...nosy people out here anyway...see one thing and report something else...

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: NYCsoul..the point about this is that it will be used by black AND yt folk as an example of how black folk always crying about racism. One person complaining means that "black people" are crying racism.

Name: detroitgee
Comment: I am tired of seeing folks pandering for public approval. This wedding didn't help feed one starving child or lower the gas price. Congrats to the couple but NEXT

Name: dport
Comment: Odd B00TANEB00TUS...Bey never mentioned your name to me. But anyway...I thought the lack of coverage was due to Bey & Jay wanting privacy. That's something they've maintained since they were dating(I guess shes was scared I'd act a fool if I knew she saw someone after me and didn't swear off men because I'd hurt her so bad). They've never spoke openly about their relationship so why would this be racism?? Let's stop being so angry.

Name: realuvbaby
Comment: NappyHeadedGardenTool, I'm wicha on that one. We mustn't forget our history, however we have overcome and we are people now and more than just BLACK PEOPLE. We really need to grow up and get past the racism. Racism is an OBSTACLE, but by no means a deterrent. Obstacles are made to go around, not through them. When are we going to stop begging for inclusion? We must do for ourselves what we want others to do for us. I'm already valid. If another persuasioncan't see my validation and my value, then that's his problem. It's my problem when I'm crying about it all the time. And it's not like these two people need money or can't earn it. If they think that African Americans can't sell magazines, then that's on them, but we know different. KNOW THE TRUTH FOR YOURELF AND KEEP IT MOVING.

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: I'm one of the first persons to scream Beyonce overkill but I still find something fishy about the lack of coverage in mainstream magazines. When Tom Cruise married his Stepford wife the media traveled all the way to never-ever land and camped out waiting for a wedding that was never formally announced. True, Bey and Jay encouraged some level secrecy but when has that ever stopped the paparazzi and some fool thought enough of them to dig through trash to find out that a marriage license was applied for. Bey is mainstream, Jay maybe not so much. But her appeal crosses colorlines. IMO, I think it was disrespectful for them not to feature her. I'm willing to bet my last cyber buck that if she were knocked up by Jay and not married she would have been on the cover of all of the magazines. "Beyonce: The single mom". I guess that's what sells. Go figure.

Name: whynotme
Comment: --->realuvbaby....we have always been people not just now.....southernbelle nobody went through the trash for their marriage license, jay z & beyonce went and got it together that's how people knew they got it.

Name: Grace12_34
Comment: Southernbelle, maybe it's all a prelude to the media circus that will ensue next month when the REAL "wedding" takes places in France. I read at another site that there will be another ceremony (a la Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) next month in France. My theory is that the "wedding" in TriBeca was just to make it LEGAL here in our country. I think this was more a "sleight of hand" than anything else. Even though most of us don't give a rat's as.s, I think we should stay tuned because there might be more to this than meets the eye.

Name: Exmun
Comment: Do we even know for sure (as confirmed by the married persons themselves) that Beyonce and Jay-Z are in fact married?

Name: Exmun
Comment: Didn't the story about Jay and Bey getting a marriage license come out on April fools day?

Name: CandyCane
Comment: It's really stupid to make this into a race issue. Why does it matter? Beyonce and Jay Z never flaunted their relationship like a lot other attention hungry hollywood couples did. Unlike their marriages, this one is going to last. Now who really got the better end of the deal? Congrulations BeyZ for getting hitched and keeping it real. People don't need to know shyt if they were invited or allowed!

Name: Teigh
Comment: Marriage licenses are PUBLIC record. Anyone can find this information out...This is how it was reported. If there was a way to get on eprivately trust me it would have been done. Some states even posted them on line but recently withdrew them because they hold too much personal information...Divorce records are public information unless you seal them...we all know where Jasmine Guy lives and what items she wants because of public record.

Name: TesticAl
Comment: I don't know why EUR and other gossip sites are even reporting this. I wouldn't put those niggaz on a cover until they confirm the marriage themselves. Quite frankly, I gives a fuckk if they're married or not. They have been together for the longest.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: I agree with AL, minus the "n" word. Here's the thing, they didn't confirm that they were dating & they are not confirming that they are married, why report it. The word RACISM has become so watered down, it's used for everything now, please stop.

Name: gingerg
Comment: This is not racism.

Name: Stephanie
Comment: I bet if JayZ was caught creeping with Rihanna the night of wedding, that shiat would make front page of every magazine including Essence.

Name: BlkATLTop
Comment: Maybe if B. was a tad bit lighter and wore her hair a tad bit straighter, they would have made the cover...

Name: Harleyquinn
Comment: How are they going to get a cover when folks don't really know if they are married? There's no ring, no pics, and no confrimation that a wedding even happened! So how would they get on the cover?

Name: beegirl
Comment: If two celebrities want to hold a secret wedding and no media cover it, is it a story? If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? If Beyonce and Jay-Z wanted Eva Longoria-size media hysteria for their wedding, I am sure they wouldn't have gone to such lengths to keep it secret in the first place.

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: Okay, my snooping through the trash was a hypothetical statement as to how far the paparazzi (sp) would go to find dirt. I don't know if the lack of media coervage is racists or more of a sign of Bey's popularity diminishing. But, you're right Stephanie if there was something negative associated with this wedding it would have been headlining every news outlet.

Name: Sigmatherunner
Comment: Don’t feel bad Jay-Z about not getting on the covers last week. Have your people call National Geographic they might put you on their cover.

Name: CrazzeeGyrl
Comment: Perhaps if they actually said they were getting married or announced that they were married I'm sure some magazine would've picked up their story and they would've been featured on the cover. I'm sure both of their publicists could've gotten a feature story on their wedding if they wanted it out there.

Comment: I would send the faux fur throw back to PETA with faux blood on it.

Name: sdedee
Comment: Can anyone say Aston Kutcher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!har har

Name: Winn30344
Comment: OSUN; flucking hypocrites..another attempt by PETA to ride the coattails of someone they've harassed and get some headlines..i'm pretty sure Beyonce and family ain't gave PETA another thought since that lame ambush!

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: They kept it hush hush and haven't even confirmed the wedding so how can anyone be blamed for not featuring them?

Name: MER82
Comment: MelodyCool-make no mistake, racism touches every single fabric of this society but this story is a bit misguided to say the least and they appeared to have jumped the gun. Co-sign all who noted that a magazine is not going to front page something that hasn't even been confirmed or had a big pulicity spin put all over it....

Name: stellababy5
Comment: Well, well now it's all coming to lite. I've been saying this and lot more about our not being needed unless we are committing a crime.I've been saying it for years about all the TV stations not having any shows that reflect our community.Girlfriends is gone now, just their repeats are being shown and now the cast must sue CW,because they won't pay them their remaining salary. The Game is all that's left on regular TV, and The House of Payne is on cable ch. TBS, who is now showing alot of black movies lately. So why would anyone be surprised that all of these White Mags are not profiling Beyonce or Jay-Z,I would not have bought it if they were on the cover. My firm gets all of those magazines because we advertise in them. Trust me when I say this, they are very White stories and pictures with the occasional picture of Bey,kelly, piffy or any African-American that has a tidbit of news. But for the most part you will never see our Black directors, producers, stylist or even our seasoned actors/actresses or Music Icons.I saw Ms.Patti Labelle last week in one of the white magazines and it was only to put her down for the outfit that she was wearing, although we all know that Ms Patti could give all of them in any of these magazines a run for their money when it comes to dressing her azz off.But they chose to disrespect her instead.I concur with all of you about our own magazines:Ebony,Jet,Essence,Sista-to-Sistah,Vibe,Black Enteprise and the list goes on.Black folks should always uplift our own,Not Armani,Ralph Lauren,Versace,Donna Karan or Shoe magnates like Jimmy Choo and Steve Laboutin. For every clothes or shoe/bag designer we as African-Americans can match it.But who does everyone on the Red Carpets give shout outs to,thw white designers. It goes deeper then this.Has anyone noticed on "HGTV" that other than the new deigner Kim Myles of "Myles of Styles" Thursdays,8:30pm and the Sistah that does Spice up My Kitchen. There are no ,carpenters, painters etc... of colour. Why don't we have our own Candice Olsen of "Devine Design"I know she's out there.I'm going off on a tangent but I'm saying all this to say is that we have everything they have so why is it so important to be excepted by them(white folks)lets uplift and utilze our own.And for those of you who don't know Kim Myles and her husband started a Gourmet Icecream business here in NYC,called "5 Boros Icecream" and it's fabulous. She was just profiled along with a Italian man who puts our some as well. All he needed was an inveastor to help with distribution and he got it.Lets put out the word about:5 Boros Icecream.Right down to the Hair supply stores, support your own or someday we will be azz out.Peace and Blessings!

Name: Mas90
Comment: BlkATLtop... were u mocking Destiny Child's song "Stay"?

Name: umph_umph_umph
Comment: forget the white media... we still got Jet, Ebony, Sister to Sister, Essence, etc.

Name: Cappaucino
Comment: It's because they were too secretive... Jay still denying it!

Name: brickhousepolk
Comment: I have a big problem what is said to be racism how is it when they want even confirm like they are princes Diana or some damn body I am not understanding if they love each other so much why are they hiding it first it was them dating now marriage if your love is so strong the media can't do no harm to it honestly I believe J and Bey likes the attention mainly her cause she can't sat her %*$ down now someone is saying they are worth a billion dollars together not true I know Jay have alot but Bey is millions don't amount to a half a billion she didn't even make Forbes riches women in intertainment list hell even Janet made. So who gives a damn about them being married how strong is it if they can't tell the world.

Name: VeeCee
Comment: EURWEB - before you issue reports like this, please CHECK YOUR SOURCES. Beyonce is currently on the cover of PEOPLE MAGAZINE this week and the story is about the nuptials. In Touch Weekly also features Beyonce on the cover. Now I am usually the first to admit that these publications are dead racist because they rarely feature Black entertainers on the cover, but this time you guys got it WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

Name: VeeCee
Comment: And by the way, why are you NOW just getting the memo on this??? Hell, the murder of Tupac, Janet's "nipplegate", nor the birth of Mijac's kids didn't even make the cover of People magazine. These stories generated much more publicity than B&J, so why are your panties in a bunch over this story (who will not even admit whether or not they are married)??? Don't even try it guys.....
