Last year Alicia did an interview where she finally revealed that she was dating seriously and that she made him wait a year before she slept with him. So far it's just a relationship - she has said nothing about marriage. Give a sistah a break!

Comment: Queenie I have never heard that - when she first came out folk were talking about her fake ghetto way of talking then they found out it wasn't fake. They were talking about her being not ladylike - tomboyish and then she put on a couple of gowns. Lord but the things people think to say when they're jealous - and this is in general not just Alicia!

As I said, a very good friend of mine who never really gossips said he has a contact he does business with in the industry and his friend said it's known in that circle that she's gay and has been seen at parties with "her woman". Now, my friend isn't the type to talk about things like this so I was like, "Oh, okay. Interesting" but I still don't know or care. I like her and I like her music. The only thing I don't like is what you called the "fake ghetto way" and I disagree with you and still think it IS fake. I've seen her interviewed where she didn't sound all "yo" and I know her white mama didn't let her talk like a ghetto rat at home! I know mine didn't. But that's just me.

Comment: I co-sign with McNasty on the so-called "fake ghetto way of talking." She may have a white mother, but Alicia Keys did not grow up in a vaccuum. She was born in Harlem and basically raised and educated in Hell's Kitchen. Sorry, but those two factors alone say that "ghetto-yo"-unladylike way she used to have was genuine. I think the mother did the correct thing by counter-acting all that ghetto influence with the classical piano lessons, etc. and recognizing her daughter's talents and cultivating them.

Comment: I've liked this young lady since the first time I saw heard her and when I finally saw her and heard her speak I, in a manner of speaking (cause I'm strictly dickly) fell in love with her. I am so over those light skinned soft spoken 'oh my God' valley black girls you don't even know. She seemed to me to be exactly what she was presenting and I have had no reason to question that or fall for the hype. I still think during Smokin' Aces she gave Common a smell!

I mean....an actor is ACTING, not being his or herself! And a singer is singing a damn song!! Neither one should have A N Y THING to do with THEIR OWN PREFERENCES!! It's suppose to be about their...TALENT!!
