Comment: Good morning! Anybody catch last night's season finales?? "Smallville" was kind of bogus (Michael Rosenbaum isn't returning as "Lex", so who will Clark fight with? How is he gonna break Kara out of that Phantom Zone? Good riddance to Lana!); "Supernatural" was unexpected (Didn't think Dean would really go to hell; hope the Cenobites don't get him!); "Without A Trace" was nicely boring (Awwwww, Sam's got a baby boy and Malone can play Daddy, although he's old enough to play GRANDPA); but the BEST one was "CSI"! Gary Dourdan, I hope you saved your loot 'cause there's NO coming back from 2 shots to the neck!

I tried to tell myself
But you can see it in my eyes

I can't fool no one else
The truth is in the tears I cry cause
If it isn't love
Why do I feel this way
Why does she stay on my mind
If it isn't love
Why does it hurt so bad
Make me feel so sad inside
If it isn't love

I told her I'd never fall in love
But now I know better
How does it feel
I can't describe this feelin'
That came when I saw her last night
She got to me
I'll let you know the reason
I saw her with another guy so
If it isn't love
Why do I feel this way
Why does she stay on my mind
If it isn't love
Why does it hurt so bad
Make me feel so sad inside
And if it isn't love
Why do I feel this way
Why does she stay on my mind
And if it isn't love
Why does it hurt so bad
Make me feel so sad inside
If it isn't love
Maybe she'll take me back
Hey girl he's begging
I made a big mistake
Won't you forgive him girl
Now I can feel it
He's never felt before
I really love her
You love her? What?
It took my heart
To shatter in a thousand pieces
Before I'd ever drop my pride
Losing love
Worrying about my image
Really helped me realize that
If it isn't love
Why do I feel this way
Why does she stay on my mind
(On my mind all the time)
If it isn't love
Why does it hurt so bad
Make me feel so sad inside
(If it isn't love)
If it isn't love
Why do I feel this way
Why does she stay on my mind
If it isn't love

I never meant to hurt you
Please forgive me
La da da
La da da da da da da
La da da da da da da da da oh ho
Tears I see drop from your eyes
Tell me why you cry
Guilt I feel when you look at me
Did I let you down
Girl, you see that I
I apologize
Tell me what to do
To get through to you
Girl, it’s not the same
I know I was to blame
Just tell me when will I
See you smile again
Tell me when will I see you smile again
‘Cause I know I messed up, baby (Oh)
And I know you’re fed up (Ooh), sugar (Hey, hey)
Tell me when will I see you smile again (Oh, oh, oh)
‘Cause I know I messed up, baby
And I know you’re fed up, sugar
Promises I know I made many times before
And I broke each one of them
But I had to learn over and over again
Don’t hurt the one you love
Girl, you see that I
I apologize
Tell me what to do
To get through to you
Girl, it’s not the same
I know I was to blame
Just tell me when will I
See you smile again
Tell me when will I see you smile again
‘Cause I know I messed up, baby
And I know you’re fed up (Oh), sugar (Hey, hey)
Tell me when will I see you smile again
‘Cause I know I messed up, baby
And I know you’re fed up, sugar
(Spoken):
Look, baby
Listen
Please forgive me for all the wrong I’ve done
You see, I just can’t understand
Why I keep making this same kind of mistake
Over and over again
But there’s one question that remains in the back of my mind now
And that is
When will I see you smile again
Tell me when will I see you smile again
(Maybe we can talk it over)
‘Cause I know I messed up, baby
(Maybe we can work it out)
And I know you’re fed up, sugar
Tell me when will I see you smile again
‘Cause I know I messed up, baby
And I know you’re fed up, sugar
(Is there something I can do, hey, hey, hey, hey)
Tell me when will I (Oh) see you smile (Ooh) again
‘Cause I know I messed up, baby
And I know you’re fed up, sugar
Tell me when will I see you smile again

Comment: JfromMo- I have to disagree. I do not like Johnny Gill. He does have a marvelous voice but to me it was always out of place in NE. It is like adding Bobby Womack to Pretty Ricky. His voice was too powerful for that group. Also he is a funboy and messed with that whole vibe. I have no problem with him being a funboy but he needs to be solo. I dont like his singing, it is too gospely for secular music. I feel like he should be singing on a sunday morning episode of Bobby Jones Gospel Hour along with Fantasia.

Comment: IRS still owes some parents their child stimulus payment
By Claudia Buck - cbuck@sacbee.com
Published 5:34 am PDT Friday, May 16, 2008
Did the Internal Revenue Service forget your kids? For hundreds of parents expecting a $300-per-child stimulus payment, the IRS could still owe you.
Because of computer glitches and taxpayer filing errors, as many as 350,000 tax-paying parents nationwide were shorted the $300-per-child payment they're due under the federal government's stimulus payment plan.
If your family is among them, a catch-up check will be arriving in mid-July, IRS spokesman Terry Lemons said Thursday.
"We're going in to make sure we correct the situation," said Lemons, speaking from Washington, D.C. "We appreciate everyone's patience during this."
The catch-up checks will total in the millions, Lemons said.
Frustrated calls to the IRS from parents, tax preparers and others began popping up in the last two weeks, Lemons said, after the first direct-deposit stimulus checks started arriving in bank accounts – but minus the $300 allotments for kids.
Some of the errors occurred, Lemons said, because taxpayers filling out paper returns didn't check the child tax credit box.
"You could be in the situation where you make too much money to qualify for a child tax credit," Lemons said, "but you would still be eligible for the $300 stimulus payment for each child."
|
|
|
Name:
CaliRedbone
Comment: The confusion arises because the regular income tax guidelines for claiming children as a tax credit are different from those qualifying them for the stimulus payments.
On a 1040 federal tax form, for instance, if a taxpayer whose income was too high didn't check the box for a child tax credit, the IRS would not know they had a child eligible for a $300 stimulus payment.
Under the stimulus payment program, a qualifying child is a dependent who was younger than 17 as of December 2007.
Errors also occurred, Lemons said, due to glitches with some tax preparation software, mainly from two small companies, CCH, based in Illinois, and Petz Enterprises Inc., based in California, both of which are used primarily by tax professionals. He said the problem was almost unheard of with large tax software companies like TurboTax or Intuit.
Lemons said a similar problem occurred during the last stimulus check program in 2003. Back then, parents who missed receiving their allotment had to wait until the next tax year to get reimbursed.
"That's the nice thing this time: There's nothing for the taxpayer to do," Lemons said. "We're identifying where the mistakes were made, and we're getting the check out to everyone."
In addition, he said, a letter will be going out explaining the errors and follow-up payment.
The IRS estimates that more than 99 percent of nearly 36 million returns eligible for child stimulus payments were filled out accurately by taxpayers, meaning that less than 1 percent will need the additional check mail-outs.
For details, go to www.irs.gov and click on "Economic Stimulus Payments: Most Frequently Asked Questions."

Comment: OJ Simpson's girlfriend, Christie Prody, was involved in a serious car accident in Miami on Saturday. She's currently being treated for 2 broken legs and other injuries.
The cops say Christie was driving down the highway when she had to pull over due to two flat tires. Christie got out of her car and tried to cross the highway. Brilliant move. She almost made it to the other end, but she didn't. She was hit by an oncoming car. Her head and arms went through that car's windshield and she landed inside the vehicle with her legs sticking out.
Police found an empty bottle of vodka in her car. They also found her pet dog. The pooch was taken to a shelter to be cared for.
In February, Christie was hospitalized with a severe head injury after she claimed "she fell" at a Miami gas station.
I hope her chola eyebrows are ok. That's her best feature. Seriously, being OJ's girlfriend is not good for your health. OJ is bad %*$!(@! luck.

Comment: NEW ORLEANS -- A New Orleans Burger King recently got a visit from a drag queen -- with a gun. Security cameras showed the man, wearing a dress with a revealing bust line and hair barrettes, climbed through the takeout window at the South Carollton Burger King on May 11. He held the employees at gunpoint, demanded money, exited through the same drive-through window and drove away. "By looking at the vehicle pull up, we can tell that's a pickup,” WDSU crime and safety specialist Howard Robertson said. “And if you look at the rims -- you know that's not a Ford or GM. The other thing I wanted to look at was whether he got out the driver’s or passenger’s door to see if he had an accomplice, somebody who was driving his vehicle when he left. But he got out the driver’s side." Robertson said the thief is probably a genuine cross-dresser because his necklace matched the dress, his nails appeared to be painted and the wig was well made. "Most of the time when somebody puts on a wig they're just trying to hide their identity by putting on something like a Halloween Mask, but he's pretty," Robertson said. Robertson said he was surprised the thief didn't cover his face, though said it doesn't matter in this case. "There's a strong possibility that this person is a cross-dresser and someone in that community will know this guy, especially if they see him on the TV, someone will know him," Robertson said. Police said the suspect was about 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighed about 180 pounds.

Comment: The Three Keys to Happiness
Something to Do. How many times have we felt unhappy with life because we simply had too much idle time? I know it has happened in my own life. When I get bored, I get down, and I only snap out of it when I start to get busy again. The thing is, we have to recognize this pattern and stay busy to keep our mood elevated. Find a hobby. Volunteer your free time. Learn to cook. Coach youth sports. There are endless possibilities for “something to do” if we take the time to look.
Something to Love. Friends and family are such an important element to our ultimate happiness. During a traveling phase at my last job I spent a number of lonely nights hundreds of miles away in a hotel room on business. I was in foreign surroundings, working in a job I didn’t particularly like, in an industry I didn’t believe in (credit/financial services). The one source of inspiration to get through those nights was my family. Even though my career situation has since improved, I still think of my wife and kids when I get down and can’t help but smile. If you are single, you may have a best friend that always knows just how to pick you up, or make you laugh when you want to cry. Pets can even be an incredible source of companionship, there to greet you at the end of a long day. I’ve had pets most of my life and marvel at their willingness to love us unconditionally.

Comment: Something to Hope For. Everyone should have something to hope for. Something that drives them towards a goal. It’s been said that if you aim for nothing, you’ll hit it every time. Have something to aim for; a dream that you hold close and never let completely out of sight. When people lose hope they get complacent, and complacency often leads to a poor attitude. This self-perpetuating cycle of negativity can lead to serious depression, and ultimately harm cherished relationships. I know, I’ve been in a rut myself and I lost sight of the dreams I once held close. But all hope is never lost, you just may have to work a little harder temporarily to catch up and see those dreams around the next corner again.
“The only difference in a rut and a grave is six feet.” If you find yourself in a rut, stop digging. Start moving in the direction of your dreams and things will begin to improve. If your goal is debt freedom, stop charging to your credit cards and start paying all you can pay on outstanding debts. Do not be overwhelmed by the distance to the finish line. If your goal is to lose weight, do not focus on how far you are from your goal weight. Instead, take it one day, one meal, one bite, one workout at a time and begin to move in the direction of your dreams.
The bottom line is we are responsible for our own happiness. Government programs, promises from elected officials, and pats on the back from bosses may offer temporary mood boosts, but ultimately happiness is a self-induced state of mind. Be responsible for your own happiness.
Please share your personal keys to happiness in the comment section below.

Comment: It’s looking more and more like Mariah Carey has indeed slipped off the deep end. Last week, People.com reported that Mariah never told friends or family members she was marrying Nick Cannon.
It turns out that Mariah didn’t even tell her own boyfriend of four years!! According to Us Weekly, producer Mark Sudack quietly dated Mariah and he thought they would eventually be husband and wife. Sudack’s friends tells Us Weekly exclusively that he is “heartbroken” over the sudden nuptials.
“He never thought she would go off and marry someone else. He’s heartbroken and shocked,” says the pal, adding that he “loved her so much.”
Here he is dating Mariah exclusively for four years when all of a sudden she ups and flies off to an exotic island to marry some dude she met on a video set a month ago! Did Mariah have another mental breakdown?

Comment: Rayne, there are several people out there doing that. The catch to this is that you have to alter your engine and other parts of your car inorder to use this. I forget what all is involved or at stake but what I gathered is that at this point and time it is a really big risk to your vehicle to alter it and use this used cooking oil.

Comment: Well, you know he had his kidney replaced 3 years ago. Well, when he first got the kidney, he was doing excellent! But, as time went by he started to not care and stopped taking care of himself. He's been putting my momma through hell! Just this past week, he has been refusing to take his meds and he's been lounging on the couch every single day for the past week. She said he's been snapping at her, hanging up on people on the phone and he's just been extremely moody. She said she thinks he's depressed. He wants pity from her & everyone else. He's just basically giving up and this is not the first time that he's done this. He goes into this 'funk' like every 6 months. So, she finally convinced him to go to the ER and now they have him hooked up to a breathing machine cuz his lungs aren't working properly, his blood pressure is sky high and his kidney is failing...The last time that he went to the ER the dr. told him that he was overly stressed out and that he needed to see a therapist. He never did see one and he's been getting worse ever since. He's been stressing my momma out something terrible! She doesn't know what to do...she's a DEVOTED wife and she cooks & cleans for him everyday. But he still continues to refuse to do right. He'll do stuff like eat out everyday (the WRONG stuff), drink Pepsi everyday (which is horrible for the kidneys), eat pork, and not drink water. Just everything that you're not supposed to do when you've had a kidney transplant. I tried to talk to him the other day and he was snapping at me so I just left. Just pray for him for me, please. Thanks.

Comment: Edwards flatly rules out running with Obama
Posted: 01:10 PM ET
From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
An Obama-Edwards ticket 'wont' happen.'
(CNN) — Seeing John Edwards and Barack Obama on the same stage earlier this week left political pundits buzzing: Could these two be an unbeatable presidential ticket?
They appeared to have natural chemistry — something Edwards and then-Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry seemed to lack in 2004 — and the former North Carolina senator remains popular among a key demographic that has been reluctant to support Obama — working class white voters.
But Edwards flatly said Friday, as he had before he endorsed a candidate, that he's not interested in making a second run for vice president.
"No," Edwards said in no uncertain terms on NBC's the Today show when asked about the possibility. "Won't happen.…It's just not something I am interested in."
As for another position in an Obama administration, specifically Attorney General, Edwards was decidedly more coy.
"I don't really want to get involved in that speculation," he said. "Right now we have to focus on getting Barack Obama elected to President of the United States, then we’ll worry about those things."
Edwards formally endorsed Obama Wednesday evening, the day after Clinton scored a 41 point victory over the Illinois senator in West Virginia. Edwards also said Friday the timing of his announcement was not specifically designed by the Obama campaign to direct the media coverage away from the New York senator's win.
"That's not true," he said. "I know it's not true because I am the one who made the decision about when to do this. I believe this was the right time to do it. I made a decision that the public should know at this point my view."

Comment: GHank....Yes, I've seen the album cover. I wasn't speaking of the cover, but rather of the sense of Yogi I felt when the song started playing a minute ago, not the lyrics necessarily, but a sense of sensuality with a little nasty thrown in. It's a girl thing.

Comment: Stark endorses Obama
Posted: 11:30 AM ET
From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
Stark endorsed Obama Friday.
(CNN) — California Rep. Pete Stark became the latest superdelegate to endorse Barack Obama Friday.
Stark, who has represented California's 13th District for 35 years, said Obama has "captured the imagination of Americans in a way we’ve not seen for decades."
“He’s inspired millions of young people to register to vote and join the ranks of our Democratic Party, he’s consistently opposed the war, he advocates universal health care, and he delivers a message that transcends party politics at the same time," Stark also said in a statement released by the Obama campaign. “I have the greatest respect for Senator Clinton and for her many years of service, but I believe the time has come to unify our party.”
By CNN's count, Obama now leads Clinton among superdelegates by 18, 292-274.

Comment: asize12>>>>>>Trust me, I know exactly what you are going thru since I am going thru the same thing with my father right now. My father will be 80 years old (Memorial Day) and we are planning a surprise birthday. We are hoping that this will cheer him up. He's been having the same symptoms as your Dad. My father is on dialysis right now. He drives my mother absolutely crazy. The best for you to do is to keep making him take his meds. Hell, put it in his food if you have to. He don't need to know it. Every now and then, we tell him that we are going to put him in a nursing home if he doesn't act right. He usually straightens up after that. But one thing I learned is that being sick is not fun. Your Dad is just sick and tired of being sick and tired. It wears on him after a while. So, keep that in prospective. I had to call on all of my brother & sister to come home more often. If you have brothers and sisters, all of them need to intervene on your mothers behalf. You father wont fight all of you. My brother comes home every other week from Baltimore to help out and even though my sister only lives a few miles away, she over the house a lot more often to help out as well. These are things that we do. I am glad I live at home with my parents because I knew my mother wouldn't be able to do this by herself when my Dad first got sick 8 years ago.

You and your family are in my prayers.
It sounds as if your Dad is clinically depressed. This happens to a lot of people with serious illnesses and it goes beyond just feeling sorry for oneself. He is not taking care of himself becasue he probably wants to die. He is hurting the people who love him because he is in pain. He needs to see a therapist. You and your Mom might not be the best people to tell him this. It might have to come from a trusted male friend or family member or maybe his primary care Dr. Your Mom could also try making an appointment for him and telling him he is going and then drive him there. Even if your Dad doesn't see a therepist I think your Mom should see one or maybe join a support group. She is dealing with someone who is physically and mentally ill. This will drain her and wear her out. Talking to someone about it might be helpful.

I also agree with whoever said that it would probably be best if his primary care physician is the one who tells him he needs to see a therapist and that it would be a good idea for your mother to join a support group or possibly see a therapist as well. I disagree that you all should take it upon yourselves to sneak him his meds. What if he all of a sudden starts taking them and doesn't know that you all have been sneaking it to him? NOT a good scenario. I don't even want to think about that. As a matter-of-fact, I read an article about that not too long ago. Maybe it was Dear Abby. In any case, you know that you are in our prayers. God will work it out.

Comment: Olympic gold medalist Tim Montgomery was sentenced to 46 months in prison Friday for his part in a multimillion-dollar fake-check scheme.
The former track star, 33, hung his head as Judge Kenneth Karas imposed the sentence.
Montgomery pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy in the bank fraud and money laundering plot. Prosecutors said he had a hand in depositing bogus checks worth $1.7 million.
Montgomery retired in 2005 after he was banned from track and field for doping. He has a child with Marion Jones, the track superstar who is now in prison for lying about the check scam and about her use of performance-enhancing drugs.
'I've had everything I ever wanted in life. I've stood on the top of the mountain,' Montgomery told the court. But now, 'the gold medal, all those people cheering, that was part of another world. ... In jail, my status is gone.'
The judge told him, 'Being a track star does not somehow disable someone from saying no.'
'I know this is a tough day for you. Think about those kids,' the judge said in an apparent reference to Montgomery's four children. '... That's what's going to help you say no next time.'
After the sentencing, Montgomery nodded and smiled at his parents, siblings and a girlfriend.
'Tim has always made me proud of him. Like all sons, they do make mistakes,' said Eddie Montgomery, the sprinter's father. He asked the court for leniency, saying the family would help Montgomery after his prison term.
'I love him; the family loves him, and we just want the best for him,' the elder Montgomery said.
Tim Montgomery still faces drug-dealing charges in Virginia. In deciding on the prison term, the judge did not hold the new charges against Montgomery.

I only stayed for about 10 min. cuz I was becoming emotional. So, I told him that I loved him and I kissed him on his forehead. I'm gonna go back up there after work. I think you guys are right, he is depressed and he needs to see a therapist. But the question is, how do you make a grown person seek therapy? He's from the old school, he don't believe in no therapy! Now, my momma on the other hand, she's more reasonable and she will agree to it. But daddy, uh-uh. So, I'll talk to my momma about finding a therapist when I go back up to the hospital...>rayne, yes, I AM a Christian and I do have faith, so I'll be fine:-) Through all of this, I STILL have no doubt that God is Good and that he's gonna work it out.
