No I don't think it's necessary to have a big blow out but half a century and still kickin' ain't nothing to be sittin' around about! Think about all those that didn't make it to this point. Oh well, your performances still continue to be off the hook and I guess this is your way of preserving - that's cool too.

Comment: Wow, Interesting. Even though Prince said he stopped celebrating birthdays several years ago due to his beliefs, it seems he would have done something more grand for his big 5-0. I would have thought he woulda released a new album as a surprise at least, made an announcemnet or something. LOL. Oh, well.

Comment: I watched all the videos an shows too. The man is a musical genius. I have one question though. Did anyone see the "protege" video of Jesse Johnson and Sly Stone singing "Crazay"? Sly was jammin and having fun. When did this period of sobriety occur for Sly? I was in shock. LOL!

Comment: That Sly Stone/Jesse Johnson video was back in the late 80's when Prince produced Jesse's 1st solo album.
Yeah, Sly looked great & was feeling great when they made that video - it's priceless.

Comment: If I'm not mistaken, Prince is a jevohah's witness. JWs do not celebrate birthdays, holidays or any kind of celebration. Perhaps, that was the reason why his 50th was low key. Also, I find it ironic that Prince does not have any outside kids or re-marry anybody. God forbid if he leaves this earth, who's gonna inherit his legacy?

Comment: I thought the same thing NYCSoul. Especially after watching the Betcha by Golly Wow video with his ex Mayte. He seemed so happy in that video which made it even more heartbreaking when his baby died shortly after birth. I hope he finds someone who makes him happy.

Comment: Well, I'm still Prince's future ex-wife ;). I love me some Prince. I still feel for him with the loss of his baby. VH1 Soul ran a special last night as well as Pop Up Videos with all of Prince's videos.

Happy Birthday to the Number One true Musical Prodigy of our time.
The reason why he has not left a legacy yet is because he has not found the right woman yet who just happens to be ME! LOL
But when I saw that Betcha By Golly Wow video I started to tear up because I remember how happy he was to know his wife was pregnant. I remember him sharing that news with Oprah.

Comment: I was actually expecting him to perform somewhere in Hollywood on his birthday. I kept that night open hoping to hear that the show was on that nite. Didn't happen... I hope he had a great 50th. My 50th will be off the chain (I still have 5 yrs to plan it).
