Comment: I'm very pleased to see EUR put up an article about this. I was wondering if it would or not. Good job EUR! About Mr. Russert, for some reason the news of his passing hit me very hard, maybe harder than any other famous person has. It was such a shock! It was almost like he was a member of my family, lol. Like Harleyquinn, Meet the Press was a part of my Sunday routine, which consisted of going to the early morning church service, then rushing home to come in while the opening music was playing and Tim was introducing the show. (I LOVED that music! lol) Anywho, Taurusingr, u r so right. He was the best, one of the only places you could go to see true, objective journalism. A lot of idiot rightwingers claim they could see "through" him somehow, lol, but that's b.s. That dude was on-point and always fair and always prepared. Maybe the worst performance I saw was Bill Richardson a while back. He came unprepared and Tim dismantled him. It was painful to watch, lol. RIP!

Comment: ...Yeah, I was saddened by the cats passing...I looked forward to watching MTP...He was tuff on a muthafuccer and wouldn't let 'em slide...I felt the same way with Ed Bradley's passing...I didn't agree with everything he said and I didn't care for the clip-board thing...but he seemed fair...

Comment: I don't know why I felt such a lost when I heard about Tim Russert and I was hoping that Eurweb would report on it. I watched the coverage all weekend on MSNBC. I saw some of the interviews that I'd never seen before and I have to agree with all that spoke..he was brutal but they all said he was fair. He was the first real journalist to say Obama was the nominee. I'm going to miss his coverage of this historical election.

Comment: caught me totally off guard, i was taking a nap on the couch friday afternoon when i was awakend by the sound of that "breaking news" music that they play and thats when i heard.. that made for a terrible day and sad weekend. this guy was a very geniune and balanced jounalist. one of a SMALL few. the beutiful thing is he was able to follow the campain up to the general election such that at least the american public has gotten a fair and balanced look at the the remaining two candidates and for that we can all be greatful. i also think he really liked bed-rock, and that he was happy that hillary was done when he prematually announced, "it is over"...lol classic

Comment: Winn30344> I agree, I felt a profound loss as well, and still do. Like he said at the end of each MTP broadcast "If it's Sunday, It's Meet The Press" Sunday will not be the same for me for a while. I just watched his son on the Today show and you could see the fine impact that he's had on him. I will miss him.

Comment: Huey, it wasn't "premature," it was a MATH thing. Hillary folks keep saying that ish, but frankly, they need to get over it. He just called it like it was. But P.S. I heard that he was really trying to get HC back on the show, I'm azzuming it was after the sniper fire thing, but I don't think she would bite, lol. He said his dad could always call out a phony, I'm thinking he would have called her out as one, just like Richardson showed himself to be. I think Tim just wanted to show the truth, don't think it was an Obama-bias, more so an anti-liar one.

Comment: what I will miss is a genuine journalist and as I pondered who the truly genuine journalists are in mass media these days, I was stumped! because news is now infotainment . . . . . the journalists who remain amongst us need to "stand" on his shoulders and up the ante because real journalists are needed more than ever . . . . . the suits in MSM need to help to revive pure journalism . . . . . RIP, Tim

Comment: Tim Russert is the only person who made me interested in listening to politicians. He was a kind, fair and real person. I was getting dressed to go to a funeral of a co-worker when I heard the news. It made me cry because my co-worker died suddenly just like Tim of a heart attack also. Sunday mornings will never be the same. God bless Tim's family.

Comment: Nice comments, I will really miss hearing and seeing Tim too. I first read it on Huffington Post and just broke out crying. I was amazed that I was touched that deeply. I agree, it was really nice during the night of the North Carolina primary to hear him say, "We have our nominee." And he was smiling. It was awesome. I really do feel that he was pulling for Barack in his heart, I really do. I will really miss seeing him on Keith's show, and I SO wanted him here for the general election. Outside of Keith, Tim's was the only word I trusted. And my mom is with those of you who think Tim was taken out. She feels that because he was on the side of right, and good at calling out the wrong and was making it clear that Barack is the "one," that some folks were not feeling that. I just find it odd that Ted Kennedy became ill, now Tim passes suddenly. And also Robert Byrd, the old (former?) racist politician who recently endorsed Barack became very ill also. Too many coincidences. My mother says to NEVER be surprised or underestimate what some will do to others to silence them. I really hope that isn't true. In any case, I will really miss Tim's voice. It was really nice what they did for him on Meet the Press yesterday. Made me cry again. Rest in peace Tim, and prayers and kind thoughts to the Russert and MSNBC/NBC family.

Comment: I'm going to really miss Tim Russert. I was really looking forward to his commentary for the general election, along with Chris Mathews & Keith. I like when he caught you in a lie, he would ask the question and then shut up. At that time, you would have no life line. He would sit there starring at you. I'm going to miss him. When Hillary chose NOT to congratulate Obama on his win, he was one of the first to call her on it. Though, he understood that it was a tough emotional fight for her, he knew that it would hurt her as well.

Comment: This man gets much respect from me. He was the only one who could go toe-to-toe with politicians and would be the only one smelling like a rose in the end. Such a tragic loss. My condolences go out to his family and his colleagues at NBC/WRC-4 in Washington, DC. RIP Mr. Russert.
