Comment: It's brave of her to put herself out there for our examination. kudos to her for taking such a bold step that will speak to someone. it's easy to say close your legs and stop having sex but obviously, if she had low self-esteem, her esteem came from opening those legs and prolly having unprotected/sex. it is what it is. I don't particularly care for her persona but, I applaud her message. we all are works in progress and to be open about yourself is a huge step. love.

She has the right to use any wording that she'd like, using the word does not say that she will not go to heaven. She is already assured of that by accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. This basically was her testimony and a look into her life and to why she is where she is now. I commend her for that. Another thing is, WE ALL have a past, there is no one here that has not done something that they are ashamed of or thought was real stupid. Heck if we even think about it there is something that we do everyday. The difference is we ask for forgiveness and we move on. We get brand new mercies everyday and we have to die daily to the sins of our world.

I told her they getting abortions, or just simply don't want kids. Highly intelligent beautiful smart careered, traveled, cultured, sophisticated sistahs seem to be the other types you rarely see. TV and Cable have become this situation where they put on the people directed to the audience or demo they want to attract. Talk shows are no different. WaWa picked her over some other sisters for some reason and I think she picked whoopie becuz whoopie is whoopie. whoopie is bout gettin paid! but whoopie does keep a certain realness to the show tho I dont agree with all her points.

Comment: Lancealot - There is this new thing called birth control. It actually works if you choose to use it properly and double up on types of birth control. I am almost 40 and have never been pregnant because I am religious about using 2 forms of birth control. Don't assume that every woman without kids has had abortions (or even a majority). To my knowledge, none of my close friends have had any abortions. We are pretty open and non judgmental about that sort of thing, so I would think that if one my friends felt the need for an abortion, it would be one of us to take her to the clinic, so we would know.

Comment: I have to agree that saying she wants to convert Walters is kinda stupid. I understand evangelism but there is also respect for someone else's religion ESPECIALLY YOUR BOSS. Regarding her abortions, well I look at 2 aspects of it - 1) She has had a lot of them and now feels it was wrong so she's trying to speak against it much like a recovering drug addict speaks against drug abuse. I think that is a very positive thing. We all make mistakes and we are all growing. 2) She shared her story because it is what it is. It's her past. I look at it like this - everything you do or go through is meant to shape you. It can also be used to help others if you overcame it. For her to be on such a successful show is an accomplishment and shows that she has grown. She doesn't bother me. She's just a bubble head. I kinda like her and I think she's funny at times. I'm not down w/that whole n-word thing she and Whoopie were talking, though.
