Comment: I like it. More variety to choose from instead of BET (which I don't watch) and TV One.

Comment: It's crazy how much of a 360 P has made with his career and life. I'm happy for dude and I hope this works out for him. It's a great idea!

Name: Taurusingr
Comment: To me?...BET & TV ONE have..."droppped the ball! I hope "P" does what THEY should've done a long f'n time ago! Present MORE than some damn videos & reruns!, & bring Black television into the 21st century with some originality & education!! And wouldn't it be ironic if "P" does it! A dude the stuck ups said was "below" them! Now the "stuck ups" are the ones f'n up! I hope "P" doesn't "sell out" & shows these mo fo's how to TRULY represent & use money for the good of their people! One!

Name: Taurusingr
Comment: Uhhh, "DROPPED" yall! Damn....where dem classes at!!??

Name: STONEY605
Comment: P i hope you know what your doing because i recall some years ago Holfield and some other black sports stars try to start a black tv network some years ago and it not around anymore

Name: Tymiles
Comment: P Miller is doing his thing! It's about time that someone comes with a black and brown network that focuses on fresh new shows. Things for the young and hip! They have got to get the our brown brothers and sisters involved! Time for everyone to step up! I like TV one and I know you have to make that money but I am TIRED of reruns of Good Times!

Name: McNasty
Comment: He's proved a lot of people wrong! I knew when he appeared on Oh Drama with such sage financial advice he was into some things that could only get better! He was all about helping family and building black businesses and since he did hang out with Bob Johnson, well, no one ever said johnson didn't know what he was doing - after all, in spite of some of us bet is still successful. Big up to ya P. Miller.

Name: cookyd
Comment: Yea!!!

Name: SouthernYankee
Comment: WOw. This man is very impressive. I will be watching his network. I stopped watching BET years ago.

Name: detroitgee
Comment: Sounds like a plan. I think P Miller made the transition to being mature. His contemporaries Tupac, Biggie and others were going in the wrong direction. He has managed to re-invent himself to some form or respectabilty. Even Snoop Dogg (god forgive me for saying this) has made some positive changes.

Name: fuzzygoss
Comment: >>>>>>>>>>>>STONEY 605 see it's negative energy and comments like yours that has probably prevented you from stepping out on faith and thinking outside the box. P. Miller obviously did his homework and research hob-knobbing (sp?) with the best (Johnson) as he stated, so before we do what WE do best and drown into the "can't do, won't work" oppressive state of mind syndrome, let's give the notion of a Black TV revolution kudos, darn, at least one kudo.

Name: golfebj
Comment: Mr. Miller, Do your thing sir! I have stopped watching BET and don't have the digital tier for cable so no TV1. The man had a plan years ago and is making it happen. McNasty...you hit it on the head. That Vanessa Bell "Whatever You Like" Callaway was trying to clown him on his money management and how his son was rich too. I would not be surprised that she will go to him looking for a job. P. Miller is creating the Black Disney Channel. Much respect man.

Comment: Good move P.

Comment: ...Let's commend Percy...Percy...Reminds me of that Staples Singers song where Mavis say's Percy, I'll take you there...Whoaaa, Percy...Yo, I think his intentions are good and knowing how he grinded...I'm sure he'll provide Black folks with opportunities...It's always good to have some competition...Now, will we watch...You can lead a horse to water but....

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Better Black Television?

Name: blackdragon
Comment: Wasn't TV One supposed to be BET's competition? And, do we really need an all-black or black-themed network nowadays? I don't think so.

Name: Closet_Nerd_Girl
Comment: Wow! Big Percy has come a long way from the bowel movement sound effects (UUUUNNNhaaaa). Proof positive that people can evolve and grow. Good for him. I'll check out his new network.

Name: Mas90
Comment: I'm excited. Finally someone is doing what I asked for. Looking forward to it.

Comment: BET is garbage . It is a disgrace and i tend not choose not 2 watch it. Didn't even have Luthers funeral had 2 watch it on a YT network . which i have no problem with but how funny is it that they thought it was news worthy enough to air and change their programming. Why BET? TV One however is actually a very good station with adult content , shows and Cathy Hughes does a suberb job at interviewing. She asks the right questions and really knows (studies) the people she's interviewing., It is just every cable company is not carrying it. I have it but my sister one town over in Teaneck NJ does not. Which is our fault. We need 2 ensure programmimg l;ike these (Tv one and the forecoming BBT) are shown in all cable networks like telemundo and all those asian and indian channels I have . By the way , i love that he is including Black and latin programmimg. We need more of that unity. I do wish the name was different. The programming speaks for itself it does not have 2 have black in it. As successful as the latin markets have been in tv they don't have to say spanish tv or the better latin channel

Name: Quanli
Comment: Props to P! This sounds like a great idea. The one thing I don't agree with is the Black/Latin thing. I only say this because we are non-existent on their programming. We are always the race to extend the olive branch it seems...

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: Great news! Hopes he shuts BET down!

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: Quanli ----->Props to P! This sounds like a great idea. The one thing I don't agree with is the Black/Latin thing. I only say this because we are non-existent on their programming. We are always the race to extend the olive branch it seems...<------ I never understand why blacks are always the first to jump up and include "others" when we KNOW it's never the same with them????? Look how Vibe magazine placed one in charged and she did a hatchet job on Mary J Blige by putting that hideous photo on the cover and BET is another one...placing Rocsi at the forefront. If other folks want to watch P's channel they will...the same as blacks watch theirs if it appeals to us. We need to stop this all inclusive mess!

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: blackdragon, there are plenty of stations serving up straight white or latin so just skip BBT. And yes it is NEEDED!

Name: blackdragon
Comment: I'm asking the question because there are black actors on networks like ABC. Anyway, I applaud Mr. Miller for trying something that's a good alternative to BET. By the way, Quanli and MelodyCool, do you individuals know there are Latinos of African ancestry? A lot of them recognize it and embrace it. Do a Google search of "Afro-Latino/a." It's a real ethnic term.

Name: TesticAl
Comment: Best wishes to P but this is going to be trash like his sneakers and clothing line. Who wants to watch rip-off BET/MTV shows? Most of the ideas are on BET & MTV right now. Silkk The Shocker hosting a video show? LOL! Good luck homey.

Name: MzTee
Comment: I've always appreciated P's business acumen. He has proven naysayers wrong in the past and may do so again with this new network. The main thing for me is the brother is constantly striving to improve himself and the lives of other black folks and I'll never fault him for that. At least, he's out there trying to bring us something fresh and new. My one hope for the network is that it has a powerhouse news division. I'm tired of going to MSM news outlets to see telecasts on our news stories which should be done by BET or TVONE. Go on P...do the damn thang!

Name: Bad_Kitty
Comment: MelodyCool: I agree. An all black station is sorely needed. Everyone has their own except us. What is wrong with that blackdragon?

Name: MzTee
Comment: blackdragon...you can't be serious. Yes, these networks are needed; however, they need to be quality networks that produce original programming...that's one of the major problems with BET and TVONE -- they buy a lot of syndicated shows instead of developing and producing new shows. All of the shows that they have on their networks have low production overhead, which is why you see a bunch of comedy, video, and some reality shows. You honestly can't think that the main networks have enough black folks staring on their hit shows. As my father says, you may see a drop of chocolate every now and then but it is definitely not where it should be. And you should be well aware that many of the networks, the defunct UPN comes to mind, use black shows to build up their revenues and then cancel the shows once they have sufficient advertiser support and replace them with white shows. This is exactly what happened when the WB and UPN merged to become the CW. Fox did the same thing as well. And, I betcha latinos aren't questioning the need for all of their latin stations because they realize these stations fill a need/void that MSM networks don't.

Name: WordUp
Comment: I think this is great. We need all the kinds of opportunities created by blacks for blacks -- and for others as well -- that we can get. It's all good to open doors for anyone with the desire to get into the entertainment business! How some people can dog that or disagree with that is a sad statement on the narrow vision of some folk.

Name: blackdragon
Comment: Did you read my second comment, Bad Kitty? I said I applaud Mr. Miller for doing this. I'm not degrading for it. I know we don't have networks of our own. Read the second comment.

Name: Quanli
Comment: blackdragon, Yes I am very aware of our Afro-Latina cousins. They embrace their culture to the hilt, but at times that does not mean they care for us (AA's). Even in the black diaspora we are viewed as being the lowest on the totem pole. Again NOT EVERYONE is this close minded, but I implore you to have an honest conversation with someone from Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, etc. and ask them what their opinions of us are on a whole? It is a little depressing to realize people who favor you think so little of you. Again, this is why the majority Latino stations do not and will not feature us yet on BET you would be hard pressed to find a black, female host in favor of Latinos.

Name: McNasty
Comment: Whether you like it or not its gonna happen! Rappers like P. Miller who recognize the error of our way and want better for their kids AND that have the money to do it want to change what their kids and grandkids have acces.s to. Contrary to popular belief all rappers aren't stupid and have bigger dreams than bling and cars. Now if this was a project with lil jon, lil wayne or the ying yang twins then I would say it's trash but the shows so far with P. Miller's hands in them have been kid friendly and okay. As for other's opinions of us - we need to quit caring cause there is so much shat in each culture it's hypocritical for anyone to be pointing fingers. Get a grip will ya?!

Name: DOne
Comment: >quanli, I agree, actually you are pressed to even find black latino hosts on lation stations. I'm mixed on this, on one hand, if he can deliver quality programming more power to him; on the otherhand, blks already watch more hours of tv than any other group; do we really need more; it the end I don't think it will make any difference one way or the other; I'm more interested in the blk news network that is suppose to be coming in the near future.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: In an attempt to show our diversity or non-black promoting black status, we often function under the notion that we have to "transcend race" (as if there's such a thing). I think P's thing is noble...I'm unsure if he's the correct vehicle for "this" sort of change and the name "Better Black Television" falls short of a network that will get any significant financial backing. BET doesn't need to be challenged by P's network cuz that will fail. It caters to a certain demographic and it works for them. What BET needs to do is diversify...some'n that it is currently in the process of doing. I hope that P doesn't positive himself into obscurity.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: I don't watch BET enough to know..but do they really have more female latino hosts than black ones or are we talking about one show? I'm not sure if I believe that categorization.

Name: Janissi
Comment: Quanli, you spoke the words that were going to come outta my typing hands. They sure as h-e-double hockey sticks don't include US on their networks, nor do many of them want to be anywhere near associated with black folks. BET online even has a Latina woman in charge. I don't watch BET and haven't since Donnie Simpson's "Video Soul."

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: ...But if you watch those Spanish networks...You only see White lats...You only see Black lats when they need somebody to dance and sing or appear on the Spanish Jee-ry Springer type shows...Look at the news and soaps...ain't too many Black lats up in there...

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: MzTee----->And, I betcha latinos aren't questioning the need for all of their latin stations because they realize these stations fill a need/void that MSM networks don't.<---- People like blackdragon place nonblacks above their own and this explains the inordinate need to promote others at all cost.

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: Quanli---->Again, this is why the majority Latino stations do not and will not feature us yet on BET you would be hard pressed to find a black, female host in favor of Latinos.<----- If you ever watch LatinoNation you will not see any black latinos whatsoever. They must laugh at needy blacks who uplift them every chance you get. BET is a joke for embracing latinos over blacks. Glad I never watch their programs.

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: Remember how they reacted when Whoopi Goldberg proposed portraying Celia Cruz? Nuff said.

Name: TesticAl
Comment: Ugh! How ya doo datt dere?

Name: blackdragon
Comment: MelodyCool, I not placing anybody over blacks. I said in my second comment Mr. Miller is doing a good thing in presenting an alternative to BET. I applaud him for doing it. Try reading first, then comment on it.

Name: blackdragon
Comment: I meant to type "I'm not..."

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Bdragon..it seems that Melody is responding to your initial suggestion that there is not a need for "another" black network. Although you did applaud P's efforts, the premise of your argument still stands. It didn't help that you brought up that "there are black actors on networks like ABC." *scratching head*

Name: dcdouglass01
Comment: "Baldwin Hills" is about the only thing I watch on BET these days. Good luck, P. Miller, cause it's not an easy task. Think about it: somebody gives you a station and starting tomorrow, you have to fill it with something everyday, 24 hours a day. Hence the reason for BET having a video countdown show everyday (will the #1 or #2 video really change that often that you need to check on them everyday?).

Name: MsVanese
Comment: It would be great to have programming that focused on educational subjects.

Name: travis
Comment: Musbdherbs- thatwas my point exactly . that name Better Black Tv leaves alot 2 b desired. The programming itself is going 2 indicate what network you are watching

Name: Cappaucino
Comment: Hello If Denzel is involved its going to be good :0)
