Comment: This is one man who believed in raw soul music to his dying day. Called the British invaders, "amateurs." The music world is dealt a major blow to with his passing. Rest in peace, Jerry.

Comment: The only "chink" in Wexler armour was the when Stax Records lost the catologue to Atlantic. Jim Stewart swears that Jerry Wexler stole Otis Redding and Sam & Dave from him. But that might have been more to do with Gulf & Western than Atlantic. But overall, Wexler had a lot to do with launching a lot of careers. He goes all the way back to Clyde McPhatter and Ruth Brown.
