Forget the Attention Dysfunction junk. This trick is truly off her rocker. Another thing, My Sister stressed that her little Boy is not the terrible two's type of bad. This little MoFo is in the words of "Bernie Mac", he works for the Devil!!!!!!!! They have no control and he is totally in control. The Family has problems with Nannies to watch him. However, he fears Grandpa. My Sister also told me that you have to have a belt in your pocketbook 24/7 when you are with him. He spits, kicks, and cusses!!!! Mouth like a Salty Sailor!

I would have turned off all the mic's and taken a few steps in that child's direction purposely to slap the cowboy shat out of her! Her talent or longevity is not such that anyone should have to put up with her attitude - she's riding bouncy's coattails but has obviously never payed attention to the fact that her sister doesn't cut the fool like that!

Comment: jazzfan, I think the album will do well for some of those reasons but also because the content of the album is a trhrowback to the 60s 70s Motown Stax sound by what I have heard so far. She is also reminding me of Donna Summer circa 1980s a lil bit. I think Solange has an interesting little appeal on her own that older sister Beyonce can't seem to swing even with her 100 million dollar backed campaigns. It's funny how genes in a family can skip around like that.

Comment: I COULD NOT BELIEEEEEVE this mess when I saw it on TMZ last night! Who the heck does she think she is!? Bey's the Queen and I ain't even heard of Bey acting like this! <> Sadiemae, Huey, Jazzfan, I co-sign, co-sign, CO-SIGN! And Penelope, later for givin' her a benny (that's cute) and a pass. SoLame could've asked if she heard what she assumed she heard before calling the sista unprofessional and even AFTER SoLame found out that she herself was wrong, did she apologize? If she did, I didn't hear it in the clip that I saw. Give her a pass my @$$! I had a smidgen of interest in her new album when I read that Mark Ronson worked on it. Ronson or not, later for this chick. Bey's the main course and SoLame ain't nuthin' but a side dish that nobody ordered.

Comment: Either that was purposely done or she is unpurposely dumb. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt and state that she said it purposely to gather attention. They say she has been trying to be like a rebel or something. She needs to have her brother in law drop her some tracks. Her music sucks. I have always said this I love the Beyonce. She makes me wanna work out to get fine. But someone in that family needs some formal education. Otherwise their legacy will die with them. Solange has no talent other than acting, if she does not want to do that. Then she needs to get in somebody's school

Comment: Yeah, I know her Daddy was piping hotttt when she returned to home base. She was very unprofessional about it. IF the ? was asked THEN she should have said, "I am not here to speak about Jay-Z, I am here to speak about MY music and new CD coming out......etc." THAT is the professional way to REDIRECT an interview ONCE a ? is ACTUALLY asked. I don't particularly feel a lot of "book smarts" coming out of Beyonce either, but she knows what she does VERY well and has endured long enough to know how to handle herself in these types of situations. Solange should take notes or retake her Dad's media class. Apparently, he worked with MJB on re-doing her image and for the most part, it has worked. MJB is a much happier, calmer Mary now. LOL

Comment: >musb - I think there's some hate in here somewhere. And I don't get it. I kinda feel bad for someone in her shoes. Beyonce is such a superstar that there is no way she could even think to be as loved as her. These comments alone scream of the kind of treatment/reviews she'll get continually. I think she's pretty and I think she looks great in her video and I like the song. And I actually like her voice better than Beyonce's because it's deeper. I think Beyonce's voice sounds like nails across a chalkboard for me. I cringe when I hear most of her music because it's just too high for me to enjoy. Kinda like when Mariah Carey hits that high schriek note that she can do. It makes me cringe. I'm like - just because you can do it doesn't mean you should. And don't accuse me of hating on Beyonce. I think she's pretty, charismatic and can dance and sing. I just don't like her voice.

Neither of them have ever done anything to warrant it...it's just one of those things. Kinda like the really nice "light skinned" girl in school being disliked by all the other girls just because she was...well light. The black girls would pull on her hair and try to beat her up..just because. LMAO@your Beyonce comments. There is no sultry in her voice...and no...that's not hating..lol

Comment: musbdherbs, you like Beyonce? OK, no problem. For some reason I never get excited about her - I just never have even with all the hype. I always take it back to "would I get excited about the same artist when I was their age?" and with Beyonce for some reason the answer is always no for me. lol! I didn't know about the ADD issue for her lil sister. Is it confirmed Beyonce has that or was that just a rumour? When I said the genes skipping around part I meant it in the way of - say, let's take a Whitney Houston - we all know how she acts on stage - kinda fighty - "Let's fight!" lol - now take a look at her mother when her mother is on stage - cool, smooth, presence with sophistication too. That's what I mean how its funny to me how one in a family will get a certain gene and one won't. LOL! Beyonce got the multimillion dollar 24-7 PR Marketing Machine Behind her for whatever reason I never really feel her. Now here come baby sister with this one lil cute throwback Motown song and a simple cute video - she makin the rounds and for whatever reason, to my surprise I am feeling Solange. LOL! I also think the name of her album is cool. It makes me think what is it about some people that we feel and some we dont even when the big money machine is behind them. Michael Jackson had both the personal feel touch and the 100 million dollar machine behind him but we all still wondered how he was doin on the daily in the 80s and 90s too. All growing up too! Its a great thing that people really are feeling you and your image and marketing is all in sync too. It's rare when that combo happens right.

While watching the video for "I Decided" I had the thought that "wouldn't it be a flip if when they end up spending less money on Solange's musical career then they ever did on Beyonce but in 10, 15 20 years, we end up talking more bout Solange's talent and success than Beyonce's?" LOL! Lawd Have Mercy. After they done spent all that money on Beyonce! Lawd! That would be a flip! What if Solange gets remembered for having the real heart and soul and Beyonce gets remembered for the manufactured one. Lawd!

There hasn't been a concert of hers in DC that I missed...lol I didn't know anything about ADD until the posters started it in here. I guess it's true...lol Low class is as low class does. Hence, the comments about her ADD. I think Solange is more of free spirit than Beyonce is. Beyonce seems very reserved until she's on stage. Then she let's it all out. As w/any black person attempting to do their thing legally and above board...I hope Solange does well. She'll never get the naysayers on board...but hey..neither did her sister and she continues to sell out crowds. Queenie..let me guess...it was mostly women chewing you out?..lol

Is that it? If so, WOW, Beyonce has some serious coattails, which I also find curious. Not that she's not talented, she in fact is, but I've long been amazed that so many people like her music. It's not soul or r&b, it's rock er a something, lol, and the beats are wacky. In all fairness, I was dragged to the Essence Festival last year and caught her show, and she rocked it, but I felt out of place given that everyone I was with knew every word to the songs, and I knew basically none. lol Just don't get the music appeal at all, but oh well...

Comment: Beyonce is one of my favorites as well. If you look at some of the tapes of her at age 8 or 9, practicing her little butt off (it was little then) to get to where she is today, how can you not help but admire that? And as an adult she has carried herself with dignity and polish. Besides that, she seems to be a sweet girl (sweetness is my weakness). As far as Solange goes, she was divorced before (or not much over) age 20, right? That tells me a lot right there.

Comment: "As far as Solange goes, she was divorced before (or not much over) age 20, right? That tells me a lot right there..." Maybe Solange was pressured to get married when she really didn't want to be. I like Solange's music and I think she has a shot of real staying power than Beyonce. Beyonce is a producer's muse -- her sound is not her own it's very manufactured. No one will give them credit but Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson (who also worked with Solange) sparked this retro throwback sound. And I'm glad -- nice to hear some real instruments and original music as opposed to a sample for a change!

Comment: Tae...it's always the same until you mention some'n negative about people they like...those commenting about Solange fit that mold. Some blacks have issues w/other blacks who are doing their thang. Mas included. Barnone..there is a difference between not liking someone as an artist and hating. Queenie's post didn't hate..TGEN's post didn't hate..most of the others are. Progressive is a state of mind and also a term people use to distinguish themselves as better than others. Legends aren't determined by how many of your own people dislike you or how often you are in the news. IMO, it's about what you bring to your craft, the accomplishments had and the overall use of your talents..something beyonce has in spades. Doesn't mean you have to like her. IMO, she, as I said is a legend in the making. As an entertainer, there aren't many who can hold a candle to her. If you can think of one..I would like to read about it. She has enough of everything to back it up. Sorry, that part is undisputed. TGEN...I like Amy but I wouldn't credit her as sparking the retro sound. People like Raphael Saddiq (sp) made use of instrumentation in music b4 I had even heard of Amy. That's giving her too much undeserved credit.

Comment: married and divorced before 20? That's an easy one. The Knowles family wanted the child to be legitimate. So they got married, the child is legit and then they break up, you know, like most teenagers do. Come on. The only difference is that instead of a text message saying something like "I quit you", they had to do some time with some lawyers. A poll - how many of you are married to your first love from high school?

Comment: I dont think she has anything to apologize for, nor was she rude. She was there to promote her new single and CD. Her concern was not with the camera, it was with the way they so called introduced themselves with questions about "Bey-Z"!! Whatever the questions or comments were, she felt they were inappropriate and also asked rudely. She had EVERY RITE to speak about it!! So what the camera wasnt on when the question was asked. She did not appear to wait until the cameras were rolling before responding. She simply responded. I believe more people should put the media in their place when they step out of line. Yes, her sister and brother in law are famous, but this interview was not about them. We all know how private "Bey-Z" is about their relationship. Im proud that Solange took a stand. If you dont, the media will walk all over you.....

Comment: @Musbdherbs... hope all is well. No My Baby Sis is not a Groupie.. She just told it from her Standpoint. In which I can understand. My Baby Sis, who I am quite proud of works in the Entertainment/Media side of the business. She is 26 and doing very well for herself, I quess the Duel Master's had a lot to do with it. Put on a more serious note. She travels a lot, and we have family in so many places that No matter what the situation is, I feel truly blessed. She got to meet a lot of the people in the younger game of New Money, and she told me that Things are so crazy with them, It would make a lot of us ole Schooler's want to offer some serious advice. I hope she loves me as much as I love her. I may need her to come to my heed later on in life. But back to Solange.. nobody knows what actually goes on behind someone else's house doors. But this Girl has some serious issues. Trust me, forget about the Attention she thinks that she deserves now in Life. It's the same with regular day folk. She just brought it to a new level. Her new Album is based on Song's in the 50's, 60's 70's. Well either Tina is older than dirt or Solange is completely off her rocker. The girl is how old? early 20's. 22 at least! She grew up on these old tunes that shaped her ways. Meanwhile Bey, is doing a 36 hr day at her Dad's request, And trust me it wasn't on those ole jams. Now don't get me wrong Miss T might of been jamming to the oldies, but I really don't thing Solange was listening? That's the beauty of Marketing!

Comment: TinaPretty, the question was never asked to Solange. I think the interviewer asked Solange's rep if it was OKAY to talk about 40/40 - before the interview - the rep said no, the interviewer said okay and that was supposed to be that.
Recognize the game, y'all! First of all, any publicity is good publicity. Second, it's strategically smart to position Solange as the polar opposite of Beyonce. Solange isn't Bey musically, personality wise, nothing and will probably never reach Bey's level of success. This little stunt is simply helping reenforce the differences between the two because we all know Beyonce would never, EVER be rude to a reporter.
Solange might not get huge success with her CD sales but in these days of folks being famous for being famous, I wouldn't be suprised if she gets her own brand of success going for herself in some way or another.

Comment: according to sohh.com:
R&B singer Solange has lashed back at Fox News for what she believes was an ambush that would have interrupted her interview about music to talk about Jay-Z and his recent business dealings.
As reported by SOHH’s Ya Heard blog, the Geffen artist caught a bit of heat Wednesday (August 27) when she began her interview with a local Las Vegas Fox station.
“I have to say that was not a very professional introduction before," she said. "Please don’t tie me into family and my brother-in-law’s establishment.”
While many viewers were unsure as to what the 22 year-old was referencing, Solange recorded a video shown on TMZ explaining what occurred prior to the live taping.
“Before the interview started they told me that I was live on camera and I had an ear piece in and the producer didn’t know,” she said. “So they’re like, ‘Live! You’re on’ and I hear people say, ‘Make sure you ask about Jay-Z’s club going down in this really negative tone and this is right before my interview started and I thought we were live on the air.”
Describing her emotions immediately following the announcement, the singer further justified her reactions.
“I felt very disrespected,” she continued. “I felt very offended that someone would try to bring up something totally irrelevant and totally untrue to basically reel me in to tell me to talk about the record and then try to charge me up about something. And for the record [Jay] sold the club for a very nice check.”
SOHH previously reported Jay-Z reached an agreement with the Palazzo Resorts to return the space occupied by his 40/40 nightclub to make room for a race and sports betting site.
In her video, Solange also addressed today’s journalism and the connection between gossip provokers Fox and TMZ.
“I just was disappointed at the level of journalism right now. I feel like it’s at an all-time low. For those of you who don’t know, Fox and TMZ are affiliates so they work hand-in-hand to uh, you know, make clips like that to bring attention to their website.”
Solange concluded her clip saying she does not regret her words or the way she responded to her interviewer and the network.
“I stand by my reaction. I still say it was highly disrespectful and abusive,” she added. “You can either love me or leave me alone for that.”
