Comment: Having just lost my mom a few weeks ago, I had the same thoughts as I watched the speech. In fact, it was such a moment that I found myself very saddened and in tears.

Comment: khanman, sorry for your loss. I lost my mother 11yrs. ago, but I still could not help but think about her last night as I watched Barack Obama. I think about my mom everyday, but last night during his speech it was more intense. My mother was 50yrs young when she passed away, she taught my sisters and I to always be proud of who you are and what you are....strong black women. She would have been jumping and shouting last night, No...she WAS jumping and shouting last night right along with everyone else ;-)

Comment: My condolences to you Khanman and Vanity. Loosing a parent or child (or any loved one for that matter) must be one of the most difficult times in ones lives.
My mom is ill and may not make it through the rest of this year, so I know what you must be going through.
Thank goodness you'll always them in your heart and the great memories that you'll keep forever.

Comment: Watching Obama, is making history and sadly a lot of people have passed on. Opening the Post to see Obama standing on stage accepting the nomination was awesome. We all have to take time to really appreciate this moment, it's no longer a race thing but the difference between moving forward or staying in the mess that has been left behind.
