Comment: They take into account that you like the Knicks? Oh, shut up. This man is so absurd. Every time he opens his mouth he sickens me.

Comment: LMBAO@ "they take into account that I like the Knicks or that I'm in New York!" Dayum Spike, I love you brother, but THAT was streeeeetching it a bit. Although, I haven't and don't plan to see Driving Miss Daisy, Do the Right Thing is on my top 10 list of favorite all-time movies as is Malcolm X. Just do your films Spike. I'll still watch 'em.

Comment: Here we go again--time for Spike to start blaming other people for his directing skills. He is jealous of Eastwood because Eastwood is taller than he is and Eastwood is a better director than he is he needs to grow up--oops I mean shut up.

Comment: cookyd, that wasn't nice :)But, dammit it was funny. "He is jealous of Eastwood because Eastwood is taller than he is" - lol

Comment: LUKE>yeah, that was funny. i can see Clint patting him on the head. "aww come on Spike, it's gonna be allright. here, have a lollypop. make my day and suck on it!"

Name: Luke_Cage
Comment: Heyyyy Chassie. How come Spike got to be so lucky??? ;)

Comment: Spike, its the world we live in...bird of a feather stick together. Winning an Oscar or Grammy should tell what and who you are. Buying into these awards is nothing. You do very good work and shouldn't need white people to tell you that. Let Clint and anybody else they want to give their little awards to...you can't take it with you, but you can make a difference in people life. Driving Ms. Daisy is what they like because in some ways it shows how people think. Driving a white woman....please

Comment: I guess Spike never considered that although Do The Right Thing was a very good and entertaining film, it was NOT Oscar-worthy. There were no individual performances that really stood out to win any awards. But who cares? Is Spike making films to entertain and express himself or to win awards? Forget about AMPAS. Malcolm X SHOULD have been the nominated film, but it too was overlooked (my opinion was the film should have ended after the eulogy and the coda should have played with the credits). I have NEVER seen Driving Miss Daisy, so I can't comment on it. I didn't see either of Clint's war pics, so I can't comment. Eventually, Spike will be recognized by AMPAS and we'll all rejoice...

Comment: BIGUP SPIKE! Clint didn't appreciate you calling it like it was- where were the BLACK soldiers?? Anyway, I'm down for Spike! He's made some "hell-of-a" films over the years, and I'm sure this one will shine too! Keep doin' it SPIKE...nevermind the BUSTERS!

Name: duckapoo
Comment: Spike would be so much farther along if he would just let the work do his talking for him. I'd rather watch a Spike Lee Joint than just about anything else. Clint does some good stuff but comparing his with Spike's is like comparing apples to oranges. Spike's next movie had better be worth it. I hear it is over 2 1/2 hours long.

Name: NYCsoul
Comment: It sounds like the Knicks comment was meant to be sarcastic. Anyway, I do think that Spike has made some good films and I believe he was cheated out of the award for Malcolm X. But like I always say, if we had gotten our stuff together, there would be no need to be concerned about whether 'they' chose to give us an award or not.

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: PRDC, thank you. Spike don't need no crackas to justify his work. He told the truth plain and simple. There were more brothers in WWII and they weren't treated well and still kicked azz and Clint's movie if it was to reflect the truth and WWII as it was should have depicted the brothers, straight up.

Comment: Read the book "The Liberators" about the black regiment that were among the first to come across the Jewish concentration camps. That has been sitting in movie production hell for years.

Name: Jaye
Comment: Thanks for the tip, oldschoolbrother, I will have to find this book. Personally, I think they need to re-write the history books for accuracy with all that the black race has contributed to this nation. But that won't happen, no time soon!

Comment: Hey Spike - make up your mind! One minute you're playing the role of the Hollywood 'outsider' ... Mr. Anti-establishment. Next minute you're whining like a little biatch because the Oscars (the ultimate Hollywood establishment organization) won't give you an award. Perfect example of someone who's talented, but just doesn't know when to shut up. Say hi to your cousin Kanye!
