So this effort (albeit more formal, corporate) could be set to do the same thing. How much of the proceeds are going the campaign, exactly? 5%? 10%? 20%? 50%? Specifics would be helpful. And after POTUS Obama wins on Nov. 4, there's still going to be money needed for the inaugural. So why should the record company reap ALL the profits after Nov. 4? It looks disingenuous on the surface.

Comment: Reading comprehension people. What part of "THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN PURCHASED THE RIGHTS TO THE CD" didn't you get? And to explain further, the campaign HAS to pay the artists fair market value to comply with Federal Campaign laws. Otherwise any reductions from fair market value would be viewed as an under the table contribution by the artists. Each person can contribute up to $2,300.00 per campaign (or $4,600.00 for primary and general election campaigns). They can also contribute something like $28,000.00 to the political party (DNC or RNC). IF they artists who get paid want to then contribute their proceeds to the campaign or the DNC they can do so, but it has to be above board where their contributions are made public. There are reasons for doing it this way.

Comment: 'Herbs... totally missed. I DID get my hotel reservation... like three months ago. The MOMENT my boi 'Rak won the most delegates back in June, I reserved a room. Most of the downtown DC hotels were either booked or priced a bit too high for my tastes. I ended up getting a place just over the bridge in Arlington, I believe. Nice price and easy drive into DC. I'm taking my daughters out of school for the weekend to travel with me to DC... need my little women to see history.

I'm not sure I want to be traveling with a 2.5 year old on the train. Is that really the best way to go? Traveling with young children, I tend to favor my own car. What do you think?

Exmun..the problem you'll encounter on the day of the inaguration is traffic and road blocks. More than likely, large swaths of streets will be blocked which will kill any access to the mall area. I do understand about your daughter but train will prolly be the best way to go cuz even if you are lucky to find some parking (which means arriving hours in advance)..you still have to walk for a bit to get to where the acceptance speech will be. BTW, is 2yrs old that still "stroller age?" As you can see I have no kids. For real tho', the train isn't a bad way to go...just hold their hands and you should be ok. Or better yet, take a taxi from your hotel cuz it is literally across the bridge from DC. 10 minutes and you are there on the mall.

If I were traveling by myself, I'd try to hang withcha during the festivities. But alas, I'm with my babies and you have a sig. with "herbs" in it... I presume for a reason (LOL!). Just teasin mayne. Should be a lot of fun. Thanks for the travel tips.

I'll try to make it one of the balls (more than likely the chi-town one). Keep in mind that after the inauguration ceremony..there is the inagural parade which requires yet more walking. I'm not sure if the girls will be good and testy by then tho'. It really is too many damn folk. Chass..the airport is about 5 minutes from crystal city so you'll be gud.

Comment: 'Herbs, glad to be the comedic break for u today. We'll get up in Jan. Just keep the "herbs" at home when my babies come around. Wouldn't want daddies' babies to go back home tellin' momma about some man they call "Herbs" who traveled with a cloud of smoke. The 2 year old wouldn't know no difference, but the 7 yr. old, that's momma's lil' spy bruh ... :)
