Comment: Great article Dr. Samad. I've been thinking about this same issue and wondering what the benefit is for me or any consumer. I still can't see a benefit, and all it sounds like is bailing out a select group of rich people with the people's money. $700 Billion dollars means roughly speaking $2300 being contributed by every American. My household of 4 would be contributing $10,000.00 of our future earnings (not counting the interest expense of this money) to keep afloat a small bunch of Wall St. bankers afloat. It's a strange twist to have Republicans (so-called conservatives) asking for government welfare to the rich from the people's pocketbook ... and basically demanding that it be approved without much in the way of debates ... sounds like a certain war started about 5.5 years ago. Plus, I don't believe it's constitutional for a government to buy a controlling interest in a private corporation ... unless the U.S. just turned into a socialist country and I didn't know about it.
