Comment: As much as I adore Halle, I don't buy the hype about her so-call fairy tale relationship with Gabriel. Feeling like you are married, yeah ok whatever...Gabriel doesn't appear all that in the family vibe. I think she wanted to have a baby to love and to feel loved back. Sorry I am a realist and i know this is "Black America's sweetheart" but the girl got some damn issues!!!! LOL! Something about her just doesn't add up!!! Seems like she hasn't dealt with her past demons that continues to haunt her.
Furthermore, I hope she takes it slowly with wanting another child because she is in her 40s and she is a diabetic. But anyhow I wish her well and hope the sista get some healing!
PS- and no I am not a hater, this is my opinion!!!

Are you a therapist or a psychic cause she looks like the picture of health and happiness, maybe that's your glasses that just need cleaning!

Comment: olskool, you and me both are co-signing. I think it's cool that a woman in her 40s has received the title of sexiest woman alive. Sends a good message to women in their 40s as well as women (like myself) who are approaching the big 4-0. Then again, Halle's in H'wood. The average woman doesn't have personal trainers, chefs, etc. If she and Gabby are secure in their relationship, who am I to say whether or not they should get the law involved or not. Look at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and Susan Sarrandon and that guy she's been with since forever. I believe that you CAN be joined at the heart. You can also be married by law and not give a schitt about the other person and cheat on that person n' lie n' God only knows what else. God created marriage with Adam & Eve. There was no law, minister, rings, etc., involved in their relationship either, lol.

Comment: With close to 2/3 of our black babies being born out of wedlock nowadays (and many of the social issues that affect our community because of it), this is not the kind of message or example our young people need from Halle Berry. Not trying to sound judgmental... just keeping it real.

Comment: I get what y'all are saying. I just think that if they like it, I love it. She seems to have what she wants. A lot of Hollywood types are like this. Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have been together since they did "Bull Durham" together and they aren't married. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell aren't married and they've been together since "Swing Shift". As a Christian, I would rather see them married but hey, they have to do what's best for them. I don't have to worry about paying for her child and hopefully they'll stay together and if they don't they will both be a a part of their little girl's life. And, maybe after some more togetherness, they may just get married. Who knows? I do agree about the babies after 40 thing. It's a serious consideration they will have to think about. We'll see. She looks great and seems happy. I go with that.

Comment: @SS>>>the cardinal rule is you NEVER, EVER insult Halle Berry on a black website. You're liable to be crucified on the spot. She's black America's princess. Sexiest woman alive? I think not. I think she is very pretty, but I've seen better. Not hating or jealous. It's just my opinion.
As far as marriage is concerned, jazzfan said it in essence, playing house today is the trend. Personally, why would "I" (speaking for myself - I really don't care what everyone else does with their life) want to have multiple babies by a man, but he not be good enough to marry? Yeah, I know, I know, "marriage isn't for everyone," but I guess being committed to a person for as long as your child is alive, is? Marriage is more than just a ring and minister. It's a vow (God ordained Adam/Eve) and in His eyes, marriage is a vow/promise before Him and man. I don't understand the negative attitude toward marriage. Again, this is my opinion.

Comment: I beg to differ on that Janissi because Halle gets her fair share of criticism from us in all fairness & I'm not what you would call a big Halle fan. But of course she's gonna get more props in the white world because she's half white herself & she's having babies by a white "model-god" so to speak. But for me she can't hold a candle to my real sistas like Sanaa Lathan, Gabby, or my girl Angela B%*$ett and Lord knows she doesn't get half of the flack from "our folks" like Bey does!

Comment: What is puzzling to me is that Usher gets bashed for being married (regardless of what folks think of his wife) and Halle is defended for wanting to have a another child out of wedlock? Wasn't folks just on Erykah's Badu's case about her 3rd out of wedlock child just because she is having it with a different man? Okaaay, I must be missing something in this equation!

Comment: Congrats to Halle on receiving the honor. I think it's great a woman in her 40s is considered the sexiest woman alive. So what if Halle ain't married, it's her life and hers alone to live. May NOT be right for any of us, but again it's her life. We certainly wouldn't want folks judging and commenting on the choices and decisions we make for ourselves, so we should extend the same courtesy to others. Especially, folks we will more than likely never meet, talk to, or remotely influence. Live and let live...

Comment: Frankly, I ain't buying the bull. Halle is a sweet person. She deserves to be happy with whoeva she wanna be with, but having a family (more than one kid with the same man) is a testimony that Halle wants to be with white dude. And she would marry him, IF HE PRESSED HER FOR MARRIAGE. White dude is the one who don't wanna get married to Halle, but I think she's playing it off on "She'll never marry again" to save face. That's what I believe. How a woman gonna pump out two babies with the same guy and claim she don't wanna marry him? Bull! That's dumb and sinful.

Comment: EEEEEEK>Queenie you come over to the dark side---I remember the article you wrote a few years back regardless Diddy and Kim Porter, I know you are not actually changing your mind but you seemed to have mellowed on your stance a little, what changed, is it that Halle's guy seems more in to her and not running around with other women? Sorry, I have this weird memory that retains things like interesting articles, comments, random music and movie references etc and remember your article had plenty of posts.

I think Halle is a lovely woman I just wish we wouldn't read more into her relationship with a white man than necessary, bad men are bad men no matter what color so I hope no one is thinking she'll have better luck with the white dude because he's well--- WHITE. Hopefully this is the guy if she wants it to be.

Comment: musb> I just find it interesting that people reserve judgment for people whom they like. It seems like the ones they don't like, they hold them to a different standard. And granted, that Badu is has/have children with 3 different men but the crux of the issue is like her children, Halle's child(ren) are born out of wedlock. I don't care either but I think folks need to be consistent.

Comment: Here's the question-Is "out-of wedlock" births a moral issue or an economic issue? Because if it's moral, it doesn't matter whether people can afford them or not. Most people claim it's moral but reading these and other posts it seems to be more of an economic issue, meaning it's only "wrong" for poor women to have babies out of wedlock, but its ok if the woman can afford it. Poor women get demonized for it but "celebrities" get praised for doing the same thing. Something is wrong with this picture.

Comment: Since none of us personally know Halle Berry or Gabriel Aubry, there is absolutely no way we could possibly know the level of their feelings for or commitment to one another. As much as many might think that marriage would be the proper thing for them to do because children are now involved, I think that most of us know, by now, that the sanctity of marriage, in the minds of SO many, is just not what it used to be or there wouldn't be so much infidelity going on and divorces taking place. So, as long as Halle and Gabriel insist they are happy, and feel like they want to have another baby, it does not affect or impact our lives in any form or fashion. As far as what message Halle might be sending out to young girls about unwed pregnancies, if parents are instilling the proper messages about the issues that can arise from pre-marital and unprotected sex to their children, what Halle does with her own life should be a mute point. In a nutshell, parents need to step up to the plate and be more accountable about their own messages that they give to their children. So, I say... be happy, Halle Berry and, if she and Gabriel decide to call it quits in the next ten minutes, if they found any measure of happiness in the time they were together then it is, perhaps, happiness that someone else may never have found at all.

Comment: >SweetieDarlin - I don't know if you'll get this but here's my answer...I don't know. Maybe I did mellow. I guess it's a matter of respect. Halle isn't being disrespected by this man (to our knowledge). And, the decision not to marry seems to be hers. As far as we know, this guy isn't traveling around the country dropping seed everywhere he goes like Diddy. I can't really put Kim Porter and Halle Berry in the same category in that sense. I do still believe a woman should stand up for herself in a relationship and not take the mess Kim took. I guess it seems different to me because she seems to be the one running things. I still do believe in marriage, though. I won't have kids myself until I'm married. And, I guess it also has to do with her not being dependent on him for money and support as Porter is Diddy. Halle isn't having a baby to keep a man close or to earn his love as Kim seems to be doing. Gabriel could disappear and Halle and her baby would be fine. I don't know. I hope I don't seem hypocritical. I don't mean to. I guess I just see the relationships differently. And, I understand that some people just are burned out by marriage. She did it twice already. Diddy never even asked Kim to marry him once yet she kept dropping babies and you can't tell me she didn't hope that he would finally marry her once she had the twins. Of course he didn't. Then what did he do? He got another woman pregnant at the same time! Jeez. I may have mellowed or I may have gotten less judgmental. I don't know. I'll have to think about this for a moment. I'll get back to you... ;)

Comment: katgrrl>Correction to the max!! God performed the first marriage himself when he married Adam and Eve. Marriage is ORDAINED of God and is HIS INSTITUTION. GOD IS THE LAW AND THE ULTIMATE JUDGE so the marriage of Adam and Eve was valid because God put those two together.
