As a freethinking person, I believe everyone has the right to choose for themselves who they want to run the country. Where James Harris crosses the line into house negroism is his begging and pleading with McCain to go negative against Obama, another Black man. "We're all wondering why Obama is where he's at. How he got here. Everybody in this room is stunned we're in this position."
There was always going to be a point of revolt and panic for a core group of Americans who believe that Obama simply cannot be president - because he's black or liberal or young or relatively new. This is that point. As the polls suggest a strong victory, the Hannity-Limbaugh-Steyn-O'Reilly base are going into shock and extreme rage. McCain and Palin have decided to stoke this rage, to foment it, to encourage paranoid notions that somehow Obama is a "secret" terrorist or Islamist or foreigner. These are base emotions in both sense of the word.
But they are also very very dangerous. This is a moment of maximal physical danger for the young Democratic nominee. And McCain is playing with fire. If he really wants to put country first, he will attack Obama on his policies - not on these inflammatory, personal, creepy grounds. This is getting close to the atmosphere stoked by the Israeli far right before the %*$assination of Rabin.
For God's sake, McCain, stop it. For once in this campaign, put your country first.

He also said that if that happens, it could lead to people taking to the streets. I told him with all jokes aside, if that does happen, I'll be there. Comment: Biden also said he's had enough of the McCain camp's personal attacks on Obama, slamming the Arizona senator for violating the "ethics" of the old neighborhood for not having the courage to go after Obama's character in their debates the way he has in speeches and in television ads.

There has been a perceptible shift this week in Biden's approach to attacking the opposing ticket. Since Wednesday, he has been increasingly willing to take on Sarah Palin individually, instead of his earlier approach of lumping her in with McCain or ignoring her altogether.
Biden's comments on patriotism were the second time he returned Palin's fire Thursday. Earlier, in Liberty, Missouri, Biden attacked McCain's new mortgage plan, using Palin's quip from last week that she has been listening to Biden's speeches since the second grade, which was intended to paint him as a Washington insider.
"That's true," Biden responded. "But she was in sixth grade the last time John had a new idea."
However, in the second use of that line here in Jefferson City, Biden incorrectly said Palin had made those comments directly to him at their debate in St. Louis last Thursday, rather than at a Columbus, Ohio rally three days prior.

Why isn't he taking McCain to task for his association with the ultraconservative right wing group, U.S. Council for World Freedom, or Sarah Palin's husband's association with an Alaskan seccessionist group and Sarah's religious ties to various inflammatory pastors. Instead he'd rather fan the flames of idiocy by pertrating untruths about Obama while blatantly ignoring all the ISHT about McCain and Palin that calls into question their patriotism and superficially links McCain to terrorists. The hyprocrisy is blinding. Folks can believe and support whomever they want, BUT I still cannot understand how a black person of reasonable intelligence can vote republican.
