Comment: This has nothing to do with race...just pure ignorance and they need to be fired for such blatant comments...it also gives another stereotypical mechanism of assuming that people have to look "sick" and also be "poor" but anyone can be contracted with the disease. No one isn't off the hook. Magic just happens to look and be more healthy because he can afford the drugs that are more effective, he takes care of himself and bottomline he has a winner's attitude to not be defeated and give up on life like it is the end of the world!
Just wanted to add that Magic had sponsored a campaign event for Obama a couple if weeks ago at Michigan State in East Lansing.

Comment: I don't believe Magic ever said that he had AIDS, though I stand to be corrected. I believe Magic announced that he contracted HIV before his untimely retirement from the NBA. For anyone to suggest that Magic faked this is the height of stupidity and suggests someone who doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. In the early 90s when Magic retired, there was enormous public fear about AIDS and how it was transmitted. The idea that Magic would have traded in a productive career in the NBA to fake an HIV claim it stupid. If anything, Magic's longevity tends to support the notion that with the right medical care people can live long with HIV.

Comment: Those Guy's are crazy... moving right along, I know and knew a couple of people that had HIV and full blown AIDS. They were taking many medications, and some still didn't make it. I guess with Magic, He had the right money and the right connections from the start, cause, he has practically outlived anyone that have HIV then turned to AIDS. Everytype of exploratory Medicine that Europe can turn out, I'm quite sure he has tried. There was a older Woman that was mentioned in a news article last week sometime. She discovered she had HIV at 57, and couldn't understand how she got it. She was widowed and dating in the senior community, with older gentlemen. She is now 78 years old. And she is still in HIV Status, no trace of full blown AIDS. I guess, it's up to your Body!

He had a few good years left, since 32 in NBA years is close to the end. Faking HIV or AIDS is like faking herpes. Who does that? The only way I could see myself faking either HIV or herpes would be if a troll came up on me at a club and wouldn't go away. Though in all honesty, I've faked being a lesbian but I've never faked having a disease. Yikes.
