Comment: PLEASE! John Lewis spoke the truth! Mccain is operating JUST like wallace. He is about to lie in a bed he made for himself! How in the hell are you at a rally full of your supporters and hear someone yell "KILL HIM!" and NOT say anything against it?!?!? are you serious?!?!? then you wanna come out agcting all outraged because someone called you on your bullshit! Even after mccain gave that lame %*$ "defense" of Barack.....he still had that crazy %*$ palin out there yesterday calling barack the bad guy and an empathizer with terrorists!!!! She needs her %*$ whipped and so does he! I mean really! during that defense...notice how mccain never called Barack a MAN.....called him a "decent person" are you %*$!(@! kidding me?!?!? I don't wanna hear that %*$! about you can't control who comes to your rallies...that is true. however, you can control how the %*$! you react towards that %*$!! If he was really upset, he would have stopped it from the jump! noooooooooooo...he wants to keep the %*$! going until he could get some points for "stopping it". The minister at the mccain rally claiming that only non christians want obama to win and that God needs to protect God's reputation. GOD NEEDS TO PROTECT GOD'S REPUTATION?!?!? Lord have mercy. Mccain says he's gonna whip Barack's you-know-what at the debate. This is the man that would be president?!?!? Anybody who votes for this man IS a racist...period. and to see black men standing with that fool..... they better see OJ and get that %*$! in their head! They think because they are reoublican that the white people won't put their %*$ back in chains too? HA! They will do what they always do.....use you to get them the power...the put their %*$ back in the same shackles with the rest of us negroes! Voting for a man who felt like Dr. King didn't deserve a special day? I think NOT! All I'm gonna say is that I cannot wait for early voting to start here in Texas. I will be there will bells on!

Comment: Lewis spoke the truth. I lived thru the George Wallace period also and that is exactly the feeling I have listening to that idiot Palin slinging her hate. McCain is out of touch if he doesn't see what is going on. And if he does, then he needs to come out stronger against it. When that woman said that Barack was an Arab, why did McCain not emphasize that BO is an AMERICAN citizen. He just said "citizen". He is full of it. And if anything show his poor judgement it is the selection of Palin as his running mate. She's out preaching that she did nothing ethically wrong in troopergate when the report clearly states that she did. She LIES about EVERYTHING. Who in their right mind would believe anything out of her lying mouth except racist pigs!! I AM %*$!ED!!!

Comment: I'm glad John Lewis spoke on it. Anybody who lived through the 50s and 60s recognize the danger with inflaming the people with inciteful words. Palin and McCain are fanning the flames with 'that one' and 'palling around with terrorists'. McCain is full of bull saying they were criticizing Obama's record and positions. What he and Palin were doing was attacking Obama's character which made it a personal attack. There are too many ignorant people out there who would act on McCain and Palin's reckless words.

Comment: Lewis's characterization was pretty on-point. McCain has decided they can no longer run on the issues (such as his attachment to the Bush economic policies and his plan for another giveaway to the health insurance industry, i.e., a "new" health insurance plan written by the health insurance lobbyists), so the plan now is to make everyone afraid of the Black man. The only thing missing from the McCain/Palin rallies last week were the sheets and burning crosses.

Comment: I'm willing to make a wager that by the end of this week the McCain camp is going to be accusing Barack of inciting people to violence against McCain and Moose. These folk's treachery knows no end. And, I cosign with all of the above, John Lewis was right to say what he said.

Comment: Exum, they have already said that the Obama campaign is the one injecting race into it. As if the things they are doing are not racist. Please.

Comment: Rep. John Lewis speaks the truth. They (McCain, Palin) know exactly what they are doing and no good will come of it. Hopefully, most Americans are guided by what's right and more beneficial to each of us and won't fall for this nonsense. We're trying to move forward with Obama. If McCain and Palin want to return to the 50's and 60's well so be it but we have a one way ticket to the White House and we'll drop their azzes off at the Plantation on the way.

Comment: Please do believe me when I tell you, mac-cain had the nerve to tell the Obama campaign that they should denounce Lewis'remarks because he compared 'cain' to Wallace??!! That abomination to his mother's womb [yeah, cain, I said it!], wants a statement of denouncement! It's my understanding that in order to be considered a 'white man,' one has to have a certain monetary worth, and land. True, 'abomination' has a collection of material wealth, but that can be tied to his wife, becky [cindy-beck]. Cracker---PLEASE!

Comment: I agree javone77 about how crazy this campaign is going. What's even crazier the McCain supporters are saying they're afraid of Obama wondering what will happen to this country if he becomes President. They're fearing that this country will become a Muslim nation, Obama have to laugh at some of this stuff. The only thing I'm afraid of concerning Obama is his safety how well will he be protected if elected. As for John Lewis, he knows what he's talking about.

Comment: The one thing that I still can't get is what do they think Barack is going to do to the country if he's elected? It shows you how irrational racism is.

Comment: Obama is a smart man and I'm glad there was an statement issued regading this situation. Obama knows he can't let the McCain-Palin ignorant remarks keep him from keeping his eyes on the prize. Obama has to stay cool. The more McCain-Palin keep attacking him, the better Obama looks. Their tatics are going to backfire. It makes McCain-Palin look desperate and makes Obama shine. Alot of caucasians are scared. They don't want to see a African-American man as President.

Comment: Thank you Congressman Lewis for having the courage to speak up and tell the truth. I don't even know why the McCain camp came out with a statement to refut Mr. Lewis. Hell, even McCain tried to do some damage control at one of his recent events because he realized the tone of the rally was becoming a bit 'klan-like.'
