Comment: “Meet Sarah Palin’s Radical Right-Wing Pals.” … as the McCain campaign continues to focus on Senator Obama’s alleged ties to former Weather Underground member William Ayers, a new investigation at Salon.com sheds light on how Governor Palin’s ties to the radical right are far deeper than previously thought. Journalists Max Blumenthal and David Neiwert detail how Palin was elected Mayor of Wasilla over a decade ago with the help of activists from the Alaska Independence Party and the John Birch Society. They allege she tried to return the favor later by attempting to appoint one of them to an empty city council seat. Governor Palin is not a member of the Alaska Independence Party, but she has attended party conventions and even addressed this year’s convention. “…And, by the way, I have an exclusive video report about her church at a website called thedailybeast.com.” Max Blumenthal interview – transcript and audio: http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/13/max_blumenthal_ on_sarah_palins_radical

Comment: Okay, maybe it's just me, but there seems to be a big-time discrepancy in this article. First the suspect is described as, "a white man with a shaved head," then at the end, "white, in his mid-30s, around 6ft tall with short ginger hair." Um, WHICH IS IT? Is he bald or not? Reds, I'm inclined to agree with you, seems like somebody should have seen something, this is curious. Re your Palin quote from Hitchens (a CONSERVATIVE): "a deceiving and unscrupulous woman utterly unversed in any of the needful political discourses.." DANG! lol KeithO called her a "disaster" yesterday after she flat-out lied that "I was found to not have done anything unethical" in the investigation, after the report said explicitly, "Governor abused power," lol. She's either a sociopath, compulsive liar, or a real stoop--or all of the above, lol. Just wow.

Comment: AMY GOODMAN: The media watch group, Media Matters, notes the press mentioned Barack Obama’s ties to Bill Ayers 1,800 times last week. In our final segment, we look at some of John McCain’s own radical pals—from the radical right.
…In his latest article, Bob Parry writes that in the ’80s, McCain had “listed himself as a supporter of the U.S. Council for World Freedom, which was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League, a haven for neo-Nazis, racialists and ‘death squad’ operatives.”
“…So you have this—you have this person who wants to essentially compete with his father and grandfather and achieve something, but who is essentially not very effective. McCain did very poorly in school, much like Bush did, and was much of a screw-up when it came to his military career. He was involved in crashing planes. He was able to get out of trouble, much like Bush did, by having his father pull strings. So you have this very similar kind of personality…” Robert Parry interview – transcript and audio: http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/13/robert_parry_wh y_are_mccain_backers

He voted for John McCain in 2000, ... But on Friday, Schaeffer published an open letter to McCain excoriating the Arizona senator. FRANK SCHAEFFER: “John McCain: If your campaign does not stop equating Sen. You also know that, post-9/11, to call someone a friend of a terrorist is a very serious matter. You also know we are [a bitterly divided country] on many other issues. You know, Reds, I have been asking the very same.
Palin had the audacity to reference some of obama's questionable associations, yet she hasn't had to answer for hers. there's the alaska secessionist group, the wacko kenyan pastor, and scores of others who were engaged in controversial activities during her ADULT lifetime-not when she was a child.

Comment: I was watching MSNBC yesterday and a black journalist from the Chicago Tribune called Palin McCain's "attack puppy" and had me laughing! It was so appropriate. But I don't think it accurate to think the MSM is giving the McCain people a pass. Quite the contrary - all they talk about is how ineffective this negative campaigning is and how it's actually hurting McCain. And, they are saying over and over again that Obama is talking about solving problems and McCain is talking about Obama and his "ties to terrorism" and McCain is talking about himself and how he's a war hero, a fighter, blah, blah, blah. But the pundits are saying that at this point, it's not a popularity contest and that's why McCain is flailing so badly. He doesn't get it and Obama does. So I say this - Obama is being lauded for keeping things about the issues and leaving all of that mess about who McCain is tied to to the MSM. He has done things correctly by not being dragged into all of that. Bravo, Obama! Bravo! I told y'all that he's doing things right. I told y'all!LOL

Many believe, as I do, that No Child Left Behind--the only domestic "success" of the Bush Administration--was written to cause many schools to fail. This was not an "unintended consequence," but intended. The Supreme Court's 2002 decision in Zelman v. Simmons-Harris allows state tax money to be used for private religious school vouchers if public schools fail. Politicians in some states, such as Texas, used several different means to cause public schools to fail; the most popular method is to underfund them, which works best in poor, urban school districts. But the Bush Administration was able to pass a great federal means: require schools to meet arbitrary and increasingly higher testing standards but not give them any help to succeed. Once the schools in a district are identified as failing, a private voucher plan is legal." http://community.nytimes.com/article/comments/2008/10/ 14/opinion/14herbert.html?s=1&pg=4 Hmmm

Not only did I see him, but I shook his hand!!!! This man is the truth--he is so real and just so comfortable in his own skin. He is unpretentious and funny! Even though he had the teleprompters, he talked to the crowd directly and was joking around with someone who wanted to bake him a sweet potato pie--I was so excited, everyone around was excited. I got out there at 6:30am for a rally that was to begin at 8:15am and the line was about 7 blocks deep--it was amazing!!! By the way, CHASSIE, he's just as handsome as he could be--I was close enough to kiss him -- no disrespect to Michelle--LOL-- and told him to stay focused. It's a powerful word but at this point in time, it is a powerless word because I think black people have evolved from the time when that word made us feel inferior...But lay your hands on me and mine, and it's on. I admire the MLK way and all but see, I tend to go the way of Malcolm, hit me and I'll hit you back as hard as I can and at the very least I'll defend myself with all that I have. Maybe it's a product of not being from the deep south or from a different generation but I just couldn't cower to white folk as the MLK people did back then. McCain: At Wednesday's Debate I Plan To Bring Up Ayers
Taegan Goddard reports that John McCain confirmed this morning he would try to bring up William Ayers at Wednesday's debate. On a St. Louis radio show, McCain appeared to blame Obama, claiming that the Democrat's comments last week that McCain "wasn't willing to say it to his face" "probably ensured" Ayers would be brought up.
In an interview on a St. Louis radio station, McCain said Obama's comments that "I didn't have the guts" to talk about William Ayers in the last presidential debate have "probably ensured" that the former 1960s radical will come up in Wednesday's debate.

You know, I have my doubts about Obama’s willingness to hit back, but somehow I feel he would use this opportunity to bring up McCain’s ties to the U.S. Council of World Freedom. The good thing about these debates, and the fact that they have such a large audience, is that they provide an opportunity to expose what MSM tries so hard to hide.
Take the VP debate, Palin’s repeated claims that Obama voted against funding the troops provided Biden with repeated opportunities to reveal the truth, that McCain also voted against a bill that did not contain a timeline. It also made Cindy McCain looked clueless when she claimed later that Obama voted against supporting her son. Hmmm… Is this an indication of how much disdain she has for Governor Palin that she didn’t even bother to watch the VP debate.

Comment: Reds, I think McCain took the bait. BO campaign set him up for this. He's going to get his a$$ handed to him. I just hope BO brings up the fact that Annenberg(the man who funded the project that Ayers and BO worked on) was a RETHUG and wife is a McCain supporter. Does that make Annenberg a terrorist too?

Comment: Yes. The Annenberg Foundation was the foundation that gave Ayers the money to fund the educational board that Obama and a lot of prominent educators served on. He was a Republican. His wife is now a supporter of John McCain.

Comment: Should Obama win, you better prepare for some of the biggest race riots in history. You better be prepared for racism in America to spike 100% higher. Believe me it's on, you have these hate groups protecting the "White Way" and they are gonna lose thier minds, so be prepared. I unfortunately see fires, riots, and death but I will not waiver in supporting BO as we as a people have always endured but trust me this is no laughing matter! -Peace

Comment: @ Cappaucino, I believe that goes both ways. If he doesn't win, with the lead he has, there's still gonna be some drama. A CNN commentator all but said it after the last debate. I'm hoping for a peacefull outcome but I really believe Nov. 4, 2008 will bring one of the happiest (Barack wins) and darkest moments of our lifetime. But, I can brush it off by realizing that to achieve great things we must make some sacrifices.

Comment: SOUTHERNBELLE/CAPP>yeah, i agree there will be some racial unrest on both sides but the main thing is if mcslain wins, it won't be racially motivated. the rioting will be because of dealing with the continuation of the same bullsheeyat we are dealing with now and it will get even more worse if that old man gets in. not only will we feel that the election was stolen we will have to deal a old geriactric man and a stupid airhead woman who don't know what she is doing. that will be because we are rioting.

Comment: Re: race riots, I said the other day that if Obama loses, black folk will take to the streets and do some damage. Honestly, I didn't think of it the other way - that whites would. That's entirely possible. WHEN Obama wins, we just need to make sure and travel in pairs or whatever and be careful where we travel. If you get caught in the wrong hood, you'll be in for some trouble. In the DC area, stay out of anywhere south of or north of Mont. and PG Counties. Beyond the Metro area, there are some serious flagrantly rednecked people. I ain't trying to be a punk or anything. It's about reality. You can't fight back if you're by yourself when they get violent. Best to stay w/your own. That's the truth.

Comment: >bigchassie - I'm not to high on white folk right now...Let me vent...I just got back from the bank - I closed my account. While I was waiting patiently for my turn, I was sitting there with an older black man, and a Latino man. Then an older white lady walked over and sat down. When the black woman called the next person, that white b*tch got up and walked over and sat down. The black dude started yelling and the white lady was like, "Let him go" like her b*tch azz was doing him a favor and humoring him!!!!!! I was like WWWWTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFF???!!! I just looked at the Latino dude and I said, "Did she really just do that? She thinks this is 1950 and she can still do that?" and he shrugged. The black dude got mad and just stormed out. I was so mad I didn't know what to do with myself. The Latino dude said he was waiting for something else. So I waited my turn because I knew if I went off on old-azzed Becky I would cuss her out with the street I got in me. Then this African dude sat down. When the other black woman called next, the African dude started to get up. Again, I was like WWWWTTTTFFFFFF???!!!! But he checked himself and sat his happy azz back down. I was still seething so I sat down and I was right by the white chick and I asked is there some reason why y'all helped her knowing we were all there first? She said it's an honor system but she knew I was so mad that she stated that people needed to be mature and wait their turn. I was so livid that I just closed my account and it took everything I had in me to not cuss that ole white peckerwood cracker b*tch out. Really. But then I had to think about it. Was it really a race thing or was it an azzhole thing? The African dude did the same d*mned thing! Dayum but that made me mad! AAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!....Enough of my tirade. I'm done now. *exhaling*...my question is this - was I a punk for not cussing them both out?

Comment: Suntrust doesn't represent their customer base. The "attack puppy" Palin feels that she has nothing to lose, so she can say anything. I guess the guy in London felt the same way, considering he wasn't captured on all those camera they have on the streets in London. McCain is trying to use John Lewis against Obama. He wants an apology from Obama. Why not ask John Lewis, he work with the man for 26 years? Don't forget the new line of attack to connect Obama to ACORN from 13 years ago. ACORN has problems every election, so this is nothing new. In one state there were 80,000 application, 8000 may be invalid. But the media make it sound as if all 80,000 were invalid. I guess Obama's 14 point lead makes McCain feel he must try anything. But John McCain doesn't understand that you can't run from your party, he a republican and they have been in office for the last 8 years. That should be enough said!

Comment: John McCain's such a trip..why are we surprised about how he has treated OBama during all three debates. Read the following,"With the assistance of local political endorsements, his Washington connections, as well as money that his wife lent to his campaign,[65] McCain won a highly contested primary election.[64] He then easily won the general election in the heavily Republican district.[64]
In 1983, McCain was elected to lead the incoming group of Republican representatives.[64] Also that year, he opposed creation of a federal Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, but admitted in 2008: "I was wrong and eventually realized that, in time to give full support [in 1990] for a state holiday in Arizona."
He he's changed...yeah right!
