Comment: Starr done stirred up some mo' old shyt she basically started by yappin' about dude and pimpin' her wedding. She may as well go back to practicin' law, because she really done left herself out to being blackballed if she wasn't partially already. Some folk just don't know when to let go.

Comment: White women can't stand the truth can they?! Before starruh left that show Joy and Barbara were sniping at her on camera and making her the butt of their half as.sed jokes so I can only imagine how it was behind the scenes. Saving grace is that the majority of folks knows baba and joy can be cutthroat - they just ain't stupid enough to mess with Whoopi and Sherri (who by the way holds her own against that crazy as.s elisabeth).

Comment: It's obvious that for a long time starruh put a good face on it - she did that with that farce of a marriage too. At some point you had to expect that she would talk about it and now that shes foot loose and fancy free AND essence prolly asked, the girl is speakin' on it!

Comment: I agree with most of the posts, McNasty, I think they're waiting on Sherri, simple as she may come off to us, I believe she's got something in her back pocket "Baddam!!". Saying that all-hel/l would break out if they messed with the Whoopster, is being kind. My girl ain't no joke!

Comment: I agree that they were nasty to Star during her time on the show. I could barley stand to watch it. Whoopi brings it and they can't do nothing with her cause she has been there & done that and is her own authentic self. Sherri put her stuff out there too so there is only so much they can say to her as well. Two wonderful examples of Black women holding their own.
Next we need to see a show with the likes of Whoopi and Sherri hosting/producing/writing that gives voice to the experiences and perspectives of African American women without being filtered by white people.

Comment: White women never could and never will be able to face the truth. I work with a bunch of them in a teaching enviroment and they all look the part for the job. Blond hair, blue eyes and dressed to the 9s. So it blows their minds when I step on the scene just as dressed, stuck up, and smart as them. I also have a higher rate of students who go on the get their cosmetology licenses and this has never been done in this school before. It is a coorporate school and so the rules are different according to the skin you are in. I give them hell and they feel I am too ethnic WTH??? So I am looking to jump ship soon. Don't get me wrong they pay sooooo much money it is sick, but I have my ethics and there are some games I just will not play.

Comment: Star was fired let's not get that twisted. Star just refused to play Barbara's game and beat her to the punch of telling the Audience. Notice when Star announced she would not be back in the fall -- she was removed from the show THAT DAY right after the live braodcast! Star beat Walters at her own game!

I always reply when they make the statement about be being too ethnic that when they do it it is called being %*$ertive. I tell them when they are being %*$ertive that they have their "bitc-h lamps lit" lol

Comment: bigheadbull2 - You're already a couple steps above those blond women, by just having that wisdom to know that they are threatened by your self confidence and self worth. It's good that you can see through all that. Anyway keep on doing what you do!

Comment: Hey all...well here's my 2cent. No matter what truly and really happen'd (being facts or one's emotions/feelings included) it's obvious that Star is still unsettled. She needs to find closure, be mature and try to move on. Her feelings are valid, and so are all involved; there comes a point where we should stop re-living the issue. Star needs to have a talk with Barb 1 on 1 or shut the %*$!( up!!
Find a resolve, stop using gossip revolver tactics. The truth is usually exposed beit with or w/out gossip. Every time Star says she's moved on, she back tracks with throwing garbage on the wall to see what sticks.
Star, be a true "STAR" and let your talent shine. If not, your butt will be mouthing off dull sparks of bitterness from the gutter of regret. And the press don't follow people there.

Comment: When people are doing the "hating" they rarely see themselves as being "hateful". It's old news though. She needs to just not comment on it when they ask her about it (which they will) during interviews.

Comment: Teigh - Star didn't beat jack!! She wrote her own death warrant. Star ain't the first one to be fired from the show, but she chose to bite the hand that gave her a national forum for 10 years. Now she can't even get a gig on the evening news. That is why her azz is still talking about it. Ain't nobody checkin for Star so the only way to get in the news is to mention Barbara or the View or her ex-wife...sad

Comment: I applaud the folks' willingness to speak on Star's behalf and how she stood up to the powers that be...I'll admit that my first reaction was that you are Star apologists. But enough can't be said about standing behind our black woman. HOWEVER, she's hating on the hand that fed her for a decade, and timing is everything, noting how shows she's helmed have fallen by the wayside. She's too old to GAIN glamour and notoriety by being b!tchy. She ain't Omarosa. Her comments only appear motivated by a need to stay in the spotlight...

Comment: HHCassius - Let's be real. Star's downfall was of her own making. She let that celebrity status get in her head and started acting a dayum fool from that farce of a wedding/husband to her refusing to talk about her weightloss after flapping her gums about everything else. When she realized she was getting the boot, she should've done like every other person in hollywood does including the other chicks that got booted from that show prior to her --Smile and bear it and keep your connections in tact. Instead she went for the crash and burn approach because she, unfortunately, thought that she was a "star" who could make it on her name alone--not!! Barbara has more clout in one finger than Star had in her whole old obese body. Whether you like Barbara or not, if you want to go sideways with her, you better have enough cash to last you through retirement. Star, naively, went for the quick cash from the magazine interview instead of thinking long term and got burned. She realized quickly from her own show that alone she is BORING. She's a sidekick and nothing more. JMHO

Comment: Angel..WOW! Your post seems oddly in defense of a yt woman...barbara (adulterer) walters at that. IMO, that's kewl. But, I'll quickly say that none of the claims Star made about her talking about the wedding (at the direction of NBC) or much else was refuted. The only thing they did say that is they respected Star enough as a friend to not talk about "how" she lost her weight. IMO, how somebody lost weight is as important as when a woman got a hysterectomy. You may not be ok w/black women (since that's what we're talking about) taking a stand againt an icon and possibly risking their career on principle...but some are. From what you write, if the producer wanted Star to bend over and take it from the back, "she should've done like every other person in hollywood does including the other chicks that got booted from that show prior to her --Smile and bear it and keep your connections in tact." JMHO.

Comment: Musb - What does her being yt have to do with the fact that Star played her hand wrong?! The proof is in the pudding. I didn't defend anybody. I stated the reality. This isn't about what the producers asked. The audience was turned off by her acting like she was all private after they had been berated for months on every detail of her wedding and her husband. Did you actually watch the View regularly? I did, so it was very strange when she did it and was a complete turnoff. Leaving gracefully would've been in her best interest. Where is she now? **crickets**

Comment: Angel..no i didn't watch the view as it is not the sort of mindless entertainment I'm interested in. But from what I read about the breakup, the audience became turned off by Star's over the top attention to her wedding, soliciting freebies for it, and the subsequent media creation of her BRIDEZILLA status. I didn't gather it was due to her one day private..one day not private actions on the show. Leaving gracefully may have been what you would've done under the circumstances..obviously you share different principles. Where is she now? Making more money than many of us combined on EUR..I would azzume. *cachiinng*

Comment: Musb - The secrecy about the weightloss was the last straw with folks...and I will bet you my paycheck that Star ain't making "The View" type money that she had grown accustomed to and is kicking herself for trying to exit like a diva instead of a professional that still needs recommendations to get another gig.

You need to keep your mouth shut before Barbara gets angrier and puts you on blast about your farce of a marriage to Big Gay Al.
