Comment: At Carnegie Hall, he was his usual self, but the seemed harried and overworked. He told us he was making some changes and that he probably wouldn't be doing standup any more, just music and movies. Katt is one of the foremost and outspoken comics of our time. I hope he gets right.

Comment: The dude is NOT funny, I know talent when I see it. He has to take drugs in order to be funny and now he can't balance the drugs in his life, so now dude is haywire. He's a Richard Pryor wannabe and its not going to happen.

Comment: even though Katt has worked hard to become a celebrity, he appears to be unable to handle celebrity plus family and other pressures . . . . . if drugs are involved, the challenges are overwhelming . . . . I pray that he is able to overcome his challenges and be restored whole to his family and fans

Comment: Publicist statement released:
Yesterday, we reported that comedian Katt Williams had been hospitalized to undergo a pyschiatric evaluation. See story here [link not inlcuded]. Williams' publicist just released the following statement to Punchline Magazine.
Following an arduous 300 shows and an 18-month touring schedule that left him incredibly fatigued, Katt felt compelled to be with his family in an effort to deal with his stress. While doing so, he is under a doctor's care.
As this is a private and personal matter, we hope the media will respect his family's request for privacy.

Comment: Too much too quick and a coupla lines of coke will get you exactly where this man is! Chappelle said it was nothing more than weed that sent him on his african sabbatical - weed don't take you outta state looking for yourself. Most folks I knew that indulged were perfectly content just chillin' at the spot. Paranoia is a huge part of indulging past reasonable limits and coke is one of the things that when you're making big dough - its still appealing in spite of the brittney's, and the other mindles.s little white girls. I wish him well and hope he does allow himself to be helped - not trusting anyone will only slow the process.

Comment: At Carnegie, he said he had to change and rearrange some thangs. He said we have a new prez, now and the game done changed. He spoke from the heart at the end of his show and he gave most of his clothes and studded belt away Then he got off the stage and marched through the audience. Chris Rock and 'nem was there. Katt is a child prodigy intellectually. He garnered a full scholarship to college a whole lotta things folk don't know about Katt, this brother ain't no joke at all. Been respected his gangster. He're some insight....Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Dayton, Williams was the product of a socially and politically charged household. At the age of 13, longing to express his creative side, he emancipated himself from his parents and moved to Florida where he sold flowers and magazines on the side of the road. He honed his skills during open-mic nights at local clubs – where he could sneak into the venues under-aged with the only other patrons not asked for ID – the comedians. In 1999, he became a notable presence at The Improv, The Comedy Club, The Icehouse, and he had his own room at The Hollywood Park Casino. Williams also won an award that year from a comedy peer, The Cedric The Entertainers Anheuser-Busch Best Los Angeles Comics Award. Since then, he has performed stand-up on many shows, such as "Comedy Campus," BET's "Comic View," both the 2005 and 2006 BET Comedy Awards, The 2006 Def Comedy Jam, and several late night talk shows including The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Comment: I've never thought fame means foregoing all areas of privacy. This psych eval thing seems like an awfully private thing to be released to the public. Robijoa, I disagree that he's not funny, I do think he's talented, but I agree with others also that maybe a prolonged hiatus is in order. Good luck to him...

Comment: As soon as I saw this headline I thought, "What a great idea." Hope it helps him, because he does seem to have something of a paranoid schizophrenia thing going. From a comedic standpoint, he's never struck me as that funny. Yeah he can get a laugh or two out of me over the course of an hour of standup. But he wouldn't make my Top Ten list of great comics.

I'm just glad the brotha's gettin' help before it's too late. I wonder what John Belushi would be doin' if he stopped messin' with them drugs and was still alive? That man was GIFTED!!!!!!!! Comment: I think Katt is one of the funniest comedians out there, though I didn't think he was funny when I saw him earlier this year. I still watch the Pimp Chronicles Part I and fall out laughing...that's some funny ISHT. If you don't laugh at least once during that, then something is wrong with you. I hope brotherman takes a rest and gets himself together. I hope he doesn't get comedy and devote himself full-time to acting and music because we'll definitely miss out.

I love me some Katt Williams though. Brother is the truth and won't settle for nothin' less. He had alot weighin' on him and he took to substances to try to alieviate the pressure, but he'll be good. At least he did recognize it and tell us he was about to make major changes.

Comment: Jav, The Blues Brothers. "We're on a mission from God" and calling the crazy nun with the ruler a "fat penguin"... LMAO! My fav Belushi moment was when he played Elizabeth Taylor back in his SNL Original Not Ready For Prime Time Player days... Belushi's sittin' there dressed up fat Liz doin' an interview. She's eatin' a chicken and chokes, does the Heimlich (sp?) on herself, bone n' chicken flying all over the place, and she goes right back to the interview like nothing happened. Crackin' me up as I'm typing it.

Comment: It is so sad that so many comedians and entertainers downplay the lingering effects of recreational drug use --which many times becomes heavy addiction. Sometimes they think they are "simply" hitting a joint, but they don't know what they REALLY may be smoking. They are ruining their lives and careers (and in some cases their families). It's the most disturbing part of my job, since I work in entertainment with ALOT of comedians.

Comment: Sexy, I agree. I think it's sad that people who partake in recreational drug use don't see it as part of a bigger picture. Everytime I hear or see something about drug use, it's the same thing: people do drugs to numb the pain of something from their past. Either they don't know how to deal with it, don't want to deal with it or what have you. But it's always something like that. It's been said time and time again, weed is a gateway drug. After a while, the weed ain't enough and you need something stronger. Or so I hear, cos I dang sure ain't speakin' from experience. My addiction is to caffeine, chocolate and pastry...and pancakes and biscuits...and Bisquik...and Haribo's Gummi Fruit Salad.

Comment: I just watched The Pimp Chronicles and although it was funny, something seemed a little off about Katt. Dude seemed a little frazzled and whatnot. I'ma keep him prayed up, and hopefully he'll get whatever he needs (therapy, rehab) to get in touch with his "star player". And frankly, if he's going to think about quitting anything I think it should be music/movies, not stand up.

Comment: Mothership is right about Katt doing music. He is supposed to retire from stand-up Dec 31 to pursue more music, film, TV and other avenues. YouTube Sweat Your Perm Out, Young Guz Diss and Mind Right. He's done a lot of music with other artists too. Check his Bio on KattWilliams.com
We need support letters to bombard his management team with. Want to submit one? 4LadyDi.blogspot.com Let's do this in massive ya'll!!
