Comment: It's great he wants to continue to connect outside of the "bubble" but when he starts getting praise for his cabinet picks from the likes of NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg and CT Senator Joe Lieberman, you've got to do a little eyebrow raising. It'll be interesting to see what Pres-Elect Obama does about Africom and the Palestinian/Israeli situation.

Comment: Obama torture tainted CIA prospect withdraws name: In a letter to President-elect Obama, John Brennan has asked that his name be withdrawn from consideration as CIA director. So the immense public opposition to his possible selection.may have had an effect…. 200 psychologists wrote President-Elect Obama protesting the possible nomination of John Brennan to be either the national intelligence director or CIA director. Brennan has publicly supported the CIA’s policies of so-called ‘enhanced interrogation techniques’ and extraordinary rendition. In their letter to Obama, the psychologists write: “His appointment would dishearten and alienate those who opposed torture under the Bush Administration.” Brennan served as Obama’s senior adviser on intelligence during the presidential campaign and is leading the review of intelligence agencies for Obama’s transition team. In fact, NPR attributed Obama’s reversal on FISA and telecom immunity to the fact that he was relying on the advice of John Brennan, an emphatic supporter of these policies…. http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/11/25/1688 701.aspx, http://www.democracynow.org/2008/11/25/headlines

Comment: NBC's Savannah Guthrie adds this statement from Obama transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter: "John Brennan has served our nation with honor and is a man of talent and integrity. The President-elect accepts his decision to withdraw from consideration for a position in the intelligence community but he is grateful for John's continuing assistance as a valuable member of our transition team." ….So a man who supported George Bush’s torture policy served the country with honor?! That’s change we cannot believe in!

Comment: TRTR, I co-sign. I depise everything about Michael Bloomberg. I did a double-take when I heard him say Barack "hasn't missed a step." My eyebrows shot up to my hairline as I visualized a set of marionette strings.

Comment: So the Obama camp really doesn't have any ethics on torture and the previously reported statement from the AP was in fact legitimate...The Associated Press reports Barack Obama’s incoming administration is unlikely to bring criminal charges against government officials who authorized or engaged in torture during the Bush presidency. Two Obama advisers said there’s little—if any—chance that the incoming president’s Justice Department will go after anyone involved in authorizing or carrying out interrogations.

Comment: Yahooooooo! Bab's is the real deal. No kid gloves (I hope) Hey they gotta pay tuition for two so might as rack up the dough. Anyway, I hope Babs presses hard about them being upset about the tone of the campaign. They can take their masks off now.

Also the automakers want a bailout but I havn't noticed the price on vehicles going down. You want to move merchandise, slash prices. He11, the cars r sold 4 a 50% markup then what it takes to maake 'em anyway. They should include themselves in the Black Friday sales!

Name: bigchassie
Comment: HONEYMACK>i know that's right. and i agree with everything Mr Obama says but the part about telling the big wigs to forgo their precious bonuses is like telling them to cut their arm off. to be honest i don't see them giving it up.

Comment: Now my neighbor up the street lieberman is blowing sunshine out his butt!!

Comment: When POTUS-Elect Obama says he wants to connect outside the bubble, that sounds like he wants to be able to observe some things happening in real-time instead of having to rely on his advisors. I am NOT mad at him for that.

Comment: honeymack - agreed. I'm looking @ auto commercials like, whoa! you tryna sell whaa?? silly rabbits.

Comment: ADIFFERENT>okay?! for real!

Comment: Honeymack & Dovelyone, word up! They get used to those perks and then get to a point where they can't give a fk 'bout anyone other than themselves. Even if they're cuttin' off their own noses despite their faces. Greedy fools. From the moment they began talkin' about this auto bailout, I was like, it's gonna fail. These multi-million $$$$$ corporations will have all this money to make more cars... WHO THE HECK CAN AFFORD TO BUY ONE!? That's like havin' a house with a weak foundation, but instead of strenghtening it from the ground up, you start on the 2nd floor. It's still gonna collapse! If I'm wrong about that, someone PLEASE break it down for me. <> I wonder if Baba Wawa will make 'Bama and/or Shelly O cry?

Comment: Seeing that pic of Obama made me think of how I came to work this morning at a big goverment agency and saw big portraits of Bush and Cheney of the wall of the main lobby. And then I realized that after Jan 20, I'll be seeing a big portrait of Barack Obama on the wall. And that will be at every other gov't agency as well. WOW! This is still almost unreal for me. But I'm gonna ENJOY getting used to it!

Comment: Final proof that the King children and other relatives have sloughed off the mantle of leadership in the black community, to let their infighting be topped by this final act of house ni$$erdom...http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/atl anta/stories/2008/11/25/king_center_awards.html: U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chick-fil-A founder and CEO S. Truett Cathy will receive The King Center’s “Salute to Greatness” Award, officials said Tuesday. Clinton, former first lady and the junior senator of New York, was the most successful female presidential candidate, losing to eventual winner Barack Obama. “We are delighted that Senator Clinton will join us at our annual dinner, and to have the chance to honor her, Mr. Cathy and Chick-fil-A for their distinguished leadership,” said Isaac Newton Farris Jr., president and CEO of The King Center. “Senator Clinton and Mr. Cathy have both set the highest standards of social responsibility in their respective fields of government and the private sector, and we look forward to thanking them for their humanitarian contributions toward fulfilling the dream of Martin Luther King Jr.”

Comment: MINDZONE>now that will put a smile on your face every morning when you come into work. to see a lovely pic of a good lookin man like our new president! wonderful!

Comment: Here's my theory on exorbitant CEO pay: Starting in the late '80s, pay of professional (mostly Black) athletes began to increase dramatically, and soon the Jordans and Kobes and Shaqs and Randy Mosses were signing nine-figure contracts. And the CEOs looked around and said, "We can't have this. Black men drawing the largest annual salaries. Nope. Can't have it." Rebuttal: "But our Japanese counterparts are being paid 1/2 million per year, max." Response: "Whateva. Give me my 50 mil. Annually."

Name: MindZone
Comment: BigChassie> You're right about that! Especially when I have to see that dunce on the wall now! haha!

Comment: katgrrrl: Oprah would make them cry before BawBaw W would. Barb's been in the business for a while...but she's still an interview lightweight in terms of pandering to her guests. Oprah's NEVER been afraid to ask the questions I want to know.

Name: RodEckstein
Comment: I'll be front and center for this one. BaaBaaWaaWaa will do an excellent job. She's a pro. I bet Elizabeth Hasselbeck wishes she could grill Obama before a nation-wide audience, Hannity style. (As if that would make a difference at this point)

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: Dovely: Yup. Oprah's da man! Erm...you know what I mean. <> MindZone, you have to start every workday with a picture of that d&mn doofus? My heart goes out to you. That wouldn't be healthy for me. But like you said, Jan. 20th, you won't have to deal with that miserable grill no mo'! <> Chassie: You can say that again! 'Bama's hot and so is 'Schell! Hottest couple to ever grace the White House!

Comment: @MissE - You don't like Michelle's sleeveless outfits? I think their nice. She certainly has the arms for 'em. Michelle has great style. I applaud the first lady for wearing what's she wants to wear. Michelle's got a great figure for clothes. She makes them look good.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: TRTR> Old Joe Liberman is doing a little butt kissing. He's just tickled pink that Obama was the bigger man and let him go back to Democratic party, so everything is good to him. I saw part of the interview on The View, I don't like the way Michelle ribbs him, she doesn't it on every interview and it really bothers me. I don't want people (you know whom I'm speaking of) to NOT take him serious. It really errks me that she does that. Now I see when people say that Black woman don't know when to take a back seat. I'm sure others have been taking notes on this. I really wish she would tone her personality down a bit.
