Comment: hmm, if she was "supposed" to get the money 4 the apartment payoff and the title, then his will would've stated as such. If he 4got 2 put it in his will, well she's SOL. Sound like he was telling wifey 1 thing & plotting anotha, If u have a life insurance policy w/that much money you will have a descriptive will.

Comment: Man, Whitney and MJ always got somebody saying they broke and then somebody else always trying to get in their wallet. Whitney's dad has been dead for years and stepmom is just now complaining? Please. She was with that old man for his money and he knew it. The will is what it is. Case closed.

Comment: Before anything Whitney was the beneficiary and not obligated to share and her father couldn't say, verbally or in writing what he wanted done, this was not a policy that he took out and made her beneficiary so the bills could be paid. If it is I stand corrected but that isn't even implied in this article. People have different reasons for getting life insurance on relatives - some actually do it to ensure a proper burial but Whitney and her dad fought till the bitter end. Didn't he have a lawsuit against her for a mil?! If his burial expenses haven't been paid then she should go ahead and pay them but I don't understand why the stepmom didn't make some long term plans of her own, like having her own policy on her husband!

Comment: Nip's Dad's final resting place was already taken care of... no one had to foot any bills but pay for flowers. Now if his present Wifey feels that she is still owed something, she should of paid attention when Whitney's Dad sued Whitney before he died for the alleged monies he was owed for bailing her out of her Airport Drug problem in Hawaii! He passed and his Associates still tried to make good on the Suit.. THEY LOST!!! This Man had other Children after and before Cicey Houston... Leave Whitney alone! She is not obligated to take care of any of them. Meaning, If you know you could be in trouble if something happened to this Man, Whitney's Father, Manager, you should of made Damn sure... things were in order before he was embalmed!

Comment: Wow, I thought that you were required by law in the tri-state area to name your spouse as the beneficiary. I know it was that way in NYC in the 90's because my boss pitched a boogie when it passed and he was told by HR that he had to change everything over to his wife's name only. He had to have her sign a waiver if he wished to put anything in someone other than his wife's name. He asked me about having to do the same but, I wasn't married so I could name anyone. Never exactly knew about CT or NJ residents or if the law has since been changed back. I do know that Black folks need to get over not making out wills! I see it every year!!! Folks die, no will. People the government can take your stuff if you don't have any close relatives and/or a will drawn up. We need to start estate planning and get with the program. You don't have to be rich to do this. See a lawyer and a financial planner and, get and keep your house in order! Many jobs now offer access to one or both at reduced rates. Ignorance is not bliss! Ignorance causes major, unnecessary drama in the long run!

Comment: Brooklynbabe that may be but it seems Whitney had a policy on her father - that she is not required nor obligated to share. Stepmom shouldn't of sat around for so long waiting to see what she would get - a smart woman married into a handful of money would be squirreling away an allowance and she would have her own multi million dollar policy.

Comment: If Whitney's father kept her as his beneficiary then there's a reason for it. Fighting or no-fighting, Mr. Houston, still made money off his daughter's career. Step-Mom is not entitled to one red cent!

Comment: I'm sure Whit was the beneficiary, because she probably put the insurance on her father. Remember when he was ill and not together he was trying to sue her, so why would he have left a policy in her name. Last, if monies were indeed earmarked for the Stepmom then it should have been stated in Whitney's fathers will. Case close...

Comment: I know the article is about Whitney being sued by the stepmother, but I can't HELP but think about the disaster of Bobby Brown and Whitney remarrying. DON'T DO IT, WHITNEY HOUSTON!!! I was married to a "bad boy" once, and there would be NOTHING our children (and now little grandchild) would like better than for US to get back together. That's because THEY were never married to him! Thank goodness it's a moot point now, because he just remarried and is someone ELSE's problem!!!!

Comment: They deserve each other. If they want to wallow in the past and not move ahead, they deserve the misery that awaits them. Actually, I hope they get back together so the tabloids can stop giving me a blow by blow report of Barack Obama's daily routine.
