Comment: I'm glad Perry settled this lawsuit. It's not fair to give hard working writers their due. Even though I don't think the writing is up to par, I still believe they deserve to share in the piece of the pie that Perry enjoys. I hope he wins in this other lawsuit about the woman sueing him for Diary of Mad Black Woman.

If so, they're basically admitting that they stole it from her but pointing out that it was legal. That's not cool at all. He should pay her.

Look, the brother has made it now so black folks has no reason to not tell it like it is when it comes to Perry's work as a whole. Average at best is what I come up with when it comes to the bulk of his work and less than average when it comes to that force-fed to black folk show "House of Payne." The writing is so predictable, as it is with most of Perry's work and the cast is corny as hell!!! To say all to end all, yes Perry defintely deserves to be a prominate name in the biz & should get some props, but black folk....enough already with the "you can't say nothin' bad about this brotha" attitude. I mean this dude on my job got made at me because I told him that I wasn't interested in seeing one of his movies enough to go to the theaters to watch it. What kind of crap is that?? I'm as happy as the next bro or sis to see dude getting it, but his work is overrated by black folk that are simply so happy to see films that cater more to the black experience even when they are not very well written, acted, etc.

Comment: I agree with everyone else on the board...and yes, Perry alleges he let those writers go b/c their work wasn't up to par...maybe it was "above" par. nevertheless, I'm glad he finally worked out deals so folks could get their paper, benefits and credits. he DOES know what it's like to struggle and (hopefully, now) has not forgotten where he has stepped from. peace.

Comment: As I said back in October, I was willing to give Perry the benefit of the doubt...and hoped this would come to a fair and equitable conclusion. It did. I am not the biggest Tyler Perry fan but, why all the hate? Let a brother handle his business. Just because he was once homeless, doesn't mean he has to now give away the house. Fair is fair, not stupid.
