Comment: LIES BY EN VOGUE: Lies, lies, using lies as alibis
Lie's, lies, just a devil in disguise
It's the same game
Played in so many ways
Everyone is the victim too; It's just a waste of time; Made for simple minds
So why do people insist on lies;
I'll give my life a different way;
Refuse to let myself become a victim;
Getting caught you in a vicious web
of lies; they can hurt you
And destroy you;you watch out for
lies, just a devil in disguise;
THE NATION'S LEADERS as well as teachers Practice lies as a way of lie; yes they do; So think before you speak Cause what you sow you reap;
The truth will always come to light;
Will we ever learn one day;
That telling lies always bring to matters. IT IS NEVER WORTH IT TO LIE. I KNOW THE SEX WAS GOOD, BUT WAS IT WORTH SPENDING TIME OUT OF YOUR LIFE IN JAIL?

Comment: I'm from the D and I met this heffa and mayor. Kilpratick is down to earth and peoples person and despite the media he did a lot of positive things for the city but unfortunately his hood ways and whoredom ways got to him. I wouldn't be surprised if he tan for mayor and won again although be wouldn't get my vote because too much scandal weighed around him. But her, she has the most nastiest attitude ever. Very snooty and arrogant. She was very known for having it in for people she didn't like such as firing. So payback comes around for her and make it so bad she would be all in his wife and kids face smiling down.

Comment: I wonder if either of them think the affair was worth it? Both lost lucrative careers and the lying alone could keep them from ever having another shot at similar careers. Plus, when Kilpatrick is released his family is his first priority so this female is left totally out in the cold! She found out the hard way that one stupid decision could indeed change one's whole life!

Comment: Months ago I remember reading articles about the former mayor and Ms. Beatty and how defiant they were in denying the charges. At that time they were confident and full of swagger. And that kills me. Even though both of them were holding valuable positions where they were serving the public they both felt that they could participate in immoral acts, lie about it, affect other people's lives that tried to call them out on it and then have the audacity to profess their innocence of any wrongdoing. A Four month sentence is a joke! I'm not even from the D and I'm upset! Personal responsibility, folks. This is a perfect example of the Domino effect where you have to constantly lie to cover the last lie to cover your azz. None of us are without sin but damn, I mean if you're dirty...just admit it, seek forgiveness then man up (or woman up) and take your punishment. As a nation we have lost that basic principle. The simple prinicple of being honest people...standing for what's right even if it means we have to expose ourselves as being human.

I'm an ex-cop and ex-Detroiter - embarassed at all this stuff. KK had a bright future - I had imagined Kilpatrick on the yellow brick road to the White House -- never thought those bricks would lead to the Big House (prison)
How do you justify both of their crimes to their children? Mama Congresswoman Caroline Cheeks Kilpatrick stepped down as chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Don't know if her sons crap got on her shoes but it had to stink to see him fall from grace.
Can't wait to see the movie. Think Forest Whitaker and Robin Givens could pull of Kilpatrick and Beaty?

Comment: Cell open on Kilpatrick's block
George Hunter / The Detroit News
DETROIT -- They once communicated via text messages, but soon they may be able to shout to each other through a concrete wall.
When Christine Beatty begins serving her 120-day jail sentence on Jan. 5, after pleading guilty Monday to two counts of obstruction of justice, she could end up in an isolated cell next to her former boss, ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who also is serving a 120-day sentence in the Wayne County Jail after pleading guilty to the same charges.

Comment: I am a Detroiter and I have to say Kilpatrick did nothing for the city we had 12 police stations we now have 6. Crime is rampant. Trash is everywhere because the bulk pickup is 4 times a year. There are a few new buildings downtown but you cant place that more on the previous admin. Kilpatrick took away the aqaurium, the city zoo, and several recreation centers. He cied broke all the time while raiding the cofers. Good Riddance. My hope is the FBI cleans the rest out. Anyone want to buy a house in Detroit?

Comment: These two deserve everything they have coming to them. Kilpatrick is a psychotic egomaniac and Beatty is a nasty, snotty, miserable woman. I listened to her speak yesterday and she sounds like she is STRAIGHT out of the hood. How she was able to serve as the second in command (ok, yeah I know how...) and represent Detroit with that mush mouth is beyond me. She sounds like she came straight off the corner. Looks are very deceiving. And it is very likely that her and her "boy" are going to be charged with additional crimes before they get out of jail. They were living large for quite a few years, but that's over now. And the only reason Beatty was crying sorry yesterday is because she got caught. Otherwise, they'd still be doing the dirt they'd been doing all along. Good riddance, mofos.

Comment: Also, Christine and Fat Boy cost the taxpayers of Detroit much moola by dragging this thing out instead of taking a plea deal early on. And all she has to pay back is $100,000? IF she can? Ridiculous. And Kwame should be paying far more than $1 million. He cost that city about $14 million with all of this mess, and it's not over yet.

The city had owed me back tax pay because I no longer stay in the city and I walked in and instead of the receptionist saying hello, how can I help you, this heffa said "what u want"in a nasty tone. I told her excuse me but u do not address people like that because it is very unprofessional. She was sucking on chicken bones at that. I sure told a manager and she told me oh she got issues, well u do too if u think this is acceptable etiquette office behavior. Mind you this is a public service building. Detroit has not been the same and need a total cleanse of bad politics including the city council. So shame and ready to bust out and leave in 09'. Any suggestions anyone?

Comment: I am not from Detroit, not have I ever been there, but I have watched KK from the beginning of his political career and I too thought that he would one day make it to the White House. He was young, black, smart and had a beautiful family. I was so shocked and disappointed when all of this mess became public knowledge. My hats off to Kym Worthy, I had been watching her since a high profile case she was on like 10 years ago (can't remember, OJ maybe)and I was very proud of her. I believe KK attained too much power too soon in his young life. He is doing nothing that a lot of politicians in the past and current have not done, but the blatant arrogant nature at which he did it baffled me. I am not condoning what he did, I just believe it was like giving my 18 year old the keys to my home and vehicle and free access to my accounts while I am in Iraq. On second thought, he would not have even been so brazen. He knows there are planes always coming across the Atlantic and I would have been on one of them. I noticed KK and CK along with his father at his sentencing but did anyone notice his mother there??? I didn't see her. I would be so embarrassed and disgusted with my child, but a mama is going to always love her baby. Also, they really need to look in to the dead stripper and that whole Manoogian mansion fiasco. I really believe we knows something about Tamara's death. It could have even been CK, she had %*$aulted her in the past. This is just all one big fat ghetto, trifling mess!

Comment: ss69054--Wow. So the ghetto-ness is full-grown in the D. That is ridiculous. And I don't think it was about the s-e-x for Beatty. She wanted the power that came with being the wife of the (ex) Mayor. She fancied herself far more compatible with Kwame than Carlita, and she always felt she was the one he should have married. Those text messages made it clear that she had every intention on making it happen too. She claimed they'd be married in 2012. Oh well, so much for that. No indeed, Carlita may hate that fat s.o.b., but she'll hold on to him for dear life so long as it means Christine won't get him. What a life.

Yeah Kim Worthy prosecuted Officers Nevers and Budzyn (sp) over the death of Malice Green. That was a bad situation. Malice had his issues - drug abuse, etc. A Black Sergent caught hell because he didn't stop the officers from beating Malice.
I knew Malice and was aquainted with the officers - bad situations that Kim handled like a professional
********
I don't smoke or drink but when I read the last set of text messages between Kilpatrick and Beaty - I needed a shot of Jack Daniels straight up and a cigarette. It was hot - Vanessa DelRio explicit -
Deep Throat and all the other Triple X stuff - The kicker to all that phone sex is the next few text messages from KK phone was to an un named female and he told her he was on the way to see her. So Beaty got him fired up for somebody else - Ghetto Love is amazin'

Softees would not last in tha D. Back on Kwame, Christine was pretty much his bottom hoe. He was slanging everywhere across the country. His wife know how he is cut. She just one of those loyal types. She was accused of beating up that stripper at the mansion that was killed. Instead of her kicking his butt. This is the next thing on the agenda is linking him to her murder.

Comment: disillusioned_jones: no that is not true. Every city has a bad side to them. Believe me i can name a few cities that looks worst than Detoit. Detroit still has some nice areas to live in and Sometimes people can overexaggerate how bad it is in Detroit. Pretty much if u associate with the wrong folk you will get got and that is every where. Now I'm ready to roll because we have the worst economy it is due to the big three putting a lockdown on everything. There is simply no jobs, nada here. But likewise there are some positive things going on despite the bad press that the city gets. One reason why is because of politics. Detroit was one of the first major urban cities where it was controlled 100% by blacks in a very highly segregated area in the US. If you know anything about Coleman Young and the 60s riot then u will understand where I'm coming from. There is still hope for the city because they are building but I have no time to waste and sit.

The Kwame Supporters were upset about her prosecuting Kwame. I tried to tell one of my co-workers that she's doing her job and that she was dragging her feet. Noone wanted to prosecute Kwame but his mouth got him in trouble when he went on that 5min. rant when he gave the state of the city address. On one of our media websites, a commenter suggested that maybe Christine was the one that had Tamara Green killed.

I used to watch those meetings and my aunt worked in his administration and would tell me things. The guy had a chance but he mixed his personal life with city's business and that is what took him under. If he ran for mayor again he would win because 1) the black slate would carry him (very strong black political org in Detroit that are powerful than the whiteys here-responsible for Obama's votes in city) 2) people think the whiteys were after Kwame which they were but he fail on his own terms.

He is a disgrace and an embarresment to the people and city of Detroit. Kwame and Beatty deserve everything that's coming to them. It's not over.

Comment: It should be over - anything after what has already been made public is not only overkill but part of the same case. No more taxpayor dollars should be wasted on this and yes, I totally agree that 4 months is too short for the lies, the misappropriation of funds, the use of company equipment to carry on an affair and the people that inadvertently got hurt. Neither got enough but it's time to begin the healing process because the citizens voted him to a second term and they had to know at that time that some major things were wrong.

Something about the other candidate being ahead on election night, but all of a sudden there was a power outage and when the power came back on, Kwame was ahead. Even if this isn't the case (which it likely is) I think they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, because there is more dirt that is going to be made public about these two and their dealings.

I'm sure he's moved on and hopefully he will get custody of his daughters. I don't believe Christine Beatty is going to be stable emotionally or financially once she resurfaces after her jail term. In addition the Feds are going to be bringing additional indictments against this former administration and Christine will continue to have legal problems.
