Comment: Obama popular vote total ranks as second-highest percentage ever. This total represents 22.62 percent of the Census Bureau's 2008 estimate of United States population, which was 303,824,640. That figure doesn't sound that impressive at first glance -- fewer than one in four Americans actually voted for Barack Obama -- but it's actually the second-highest percentage ever, trailing only Ronald Reagan in 1984 (23.09%). http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/

Comment: Boot, what you say is funny, but true in a way. Personally, I'm concerned that he is race-concious, but not as concerned as I am that he show some integrity. I saw a part of his press conference when he was very flip when a reporter asked him about how he "evolved" from belittling HClinton's foreign policy experience in the primaries to now choosing her as his SoS. He hee-hawed, stuttered, wise-cracked through the whole non-answer, which I found off-putting. I am no longer excited about his presidency and if I had not already made plans to go see his Inauguration, I wouldn't be making the trek to DC in January. Someone said that the kind of answer he gave makes people cynical about politics, I so agree. It'll be interesting to see how he addresses this (yet again) on MTP Sunday. Speaking of which, that will probably be my last time watching it. They've selected David Gregory as the host and I dislike him even more than I do Tom Brokaw--which is a lot, lol. Oh well...

Comment: TGEN...yep..I saw the Press conference and was like WTF kind of stupid shyt is that? He was beyond flip. They asked him about and he did that whole "well that was said in the midst of a heated campaign but I see you guys wanna have fun w/it." Well Barack...it came out of YOUR fkng mouth and denying the obvious makes you look like a "washington insider" the kind u campaigned against. So in other words, he lied to win. Changing party affiliation begins now.

Comment: Well, I for one am still very excited about this new presidency and can't wait until he takes office. Sen. Clinton wouldn't have been my firt choice for SOS, but I am not privy to their conversations and will trust my new President's choice. I liken this to what I see a lot of 'fans' do for their teams. For instance, I love football but so many fans of a particular team start hating their rivals and talk all kinds of crap about them and take it to heart that the other team is just evil not taking the time to note that the actual players--the ones that really matter--after the game, after all the hitting and trash talking...they leave all that in the game. After the game, the winners and the losers shake hands, laugh and smile with each other because above all else, they are boys--they are pro players in a select group together. That's the same thing here. They are all Democrats. At the end of the day, they are more alike than different and I believe that at the end of the day, the goal is to improve our country and get away from the last 8 years debacle. I like the confidence he shows in not just appointing 'yes-people' and will have people that will have divergent ideas so they can come up with some plans that will really work. TGEN, if you have any great hotel room that you'd like to give up, please let me know!!!! I'm serious...I would love a closer room! Reply back and then I'll leave my email...

Comment: JAmer..although I co-sign your point, there's a huge difference 'tween supporting the choices a football coach makes vs. that of a president. One is strictly entertainment value..the other is life or death. Obama could have shaken hands w/McCain and made him SOS.

Comment: Musb...some would argue that football is life or death LOL!! Like I said, Hill not my first choice, but in ideology they are pretty similar and I believe that she will tow the line because if nothing else, she has her own best interests at heart and that would be to do a superb job as SOS to further her career and that can only be done by following his decisions. Not so with McCain...I find Obama to be a smart guy and I think that he's had a lot of his policies in mind for quite sometime...I don't believe that he is willy-nilly either, I believe that the buck stops with him and if she proves otherwise, she'll have to go. On a side note, I'm so mad!!!! Obama was just in Phila and this morning he worked out at the gym right down the street from me by Whole Foods--I am always at that Whole Foods EXCEPT of course this morning when he was there...ugh!

Comment: lol...so u missed ur boo?..LMAO..I have no doubts that she will do a gud job. I'm just sick of her, her people, and her husband. Had I known that he was considering her for SoS, I would've thought 2wc about "more" clintons.

Comment: i'm still standing by Obama. give the man a chance. and he hasn't even gotten sworn in yet. okay, he chose Hillary. that is his perrogitave. eventhough their campagin between them was bitter, he knows she made a formidable apponent. i think he is going by the theory of "keeping your friends close and your enamies closer" so we shall see what the outcome of this appointment will reveal. all i know is i'm ready for the changing of the guard. i've had enough of the rethuglican rule!

Comment: I concur yasmine1. The man was elected without the help of all the free advice. He won the office, he can pick who he wants. Obama hasn't unpacked or even had dinner in the White House yet.
