Comment: Folk forget that Kim and Biggie were tangoin' long before Faith came on the set. He just upped and married Faith, but Kim was there long time. BET had a nice piece on Biggie last night. "Bigger Than Life." I felt the same way that I felt when my former sister-in-law woke me up at 7 am to tell me they killed the big one. Sadness on what could have been. 'Cause I know even to this day, throw on one of Big's tracks and ya head start to bouncin' and your ears start to perk up, because his wordplay was insane.

Comment: MOTHERSHIP --i concur, that was a great peice last night that bet did on biggie. probably better than what the movie will be.
as far as biggie as a rapper, i never thought he was a great rapper. i thought he was very good and did a good job of presenting street life as his saw it and interpreted it through his eyes, and his flow was extremely tight in the way he delivered it with that kinda nasely flow. but i never saw him as lyrical genius per se. jmo. i thought pac was a more provacative lyricist. u know that comparison must be made. kinda like michael jackson and prince lol. like bacon and eggs, like white tube socks and flip flops.

Comment: Huey, Pac was a whole 'nother element unto itself. BIG was a master storyteller, as you pointed out representing and tellin' the story from what his perspective and experiences were. He did him and the world felt his spirit. Pac was a beacon, sent here to let the world know this is what it is. They both were gemini's but masters at the differences of who they be. Speakin' for myself, both are sorely missed. I loved my 'Pac, though, brother of my own heart. He still here though, be easy, look around, y'all still feel him.

Comment: when I hear him I remember the short big kid on the corner of Franklin Ave and Fulton Street hustling tickets between the Shuttle Train and the A Train. That's a ways back. He had to be about 9 or 10 then. Glad His Mom wants to sit down and talk with Kim. If anything she will really understand the relationship that they both had. When Biggie died, Kim was so distraught. It really took her some time to get it together.

If there was any significant positive impact he had before his death, I've yet to read it. I liked the music...nothing more.

they make movies about a lot of random stuff birds, bees, musicians, people who can fly whatever.
I am glad they did a movie about Biggie. As a girl from the Stuy he definately represented in the rap game. Even his peers recognized that.
really its just a movie and lil entertainment/

Comment: >6footah - I don't have kids either but I know I'm protective of and defensive of my brother the same way mothers are with their children. I think families are protective of their kin. It's not just moms. You just are because you know your child / sibling / relative has a good heart and has a kind way about him/her and that's the side you see so it's the side you focus on. I have a cousin who does some foul sh*t but I know why he's all f*cked up and how it has led to the bad decisions he has made and unfortunately continues to make. I know that he has a gentle side that he shows me. It doesn't excuse or dismiss his actions/deeds but I do care about him despite his messy life. On another note, I really don't understand why this movie is even being made. I bought his last double cd and it's nasty. The 2 songs I bought it for are off the hook but he has an interlude where he actually talks about defecating on a woman. NASTY. That is not someone I want to hold up as any kind of example. I think his beats were good and his lyrics smooth but vulgar.

Comment: I've been reading tid bits of Faith's new book on the Panache Report and she is trying so hard to be such the victim. Everybody had an issue with her because they were jealous and how she caught Lil Kim and Biggie in the bed together and beat Lil Kim's azz, Mary J was hatin on her, Missy used her. Lil Kim did an interview and pretty much put Biggie's mom and Faith on blast. Biggie and Tupac were both good rappers with so much potential and it was greed that killed them both. I will die believing Suge Knight was responsible for both of their demises but its been almost 13 years and no one has stopped living because of them.

Comment: Stephanie> I read some exercepts from Faith's book and that's not the impression that I got. From what she wrote, she said she didn't know why MJ stopped speaking her nor did she know that Kim was messing with Biggie. She stated she liked Kim alot and never thought twice that there was something going on between Kim and Biggie. It seemed to me that Faith wasn't trying to be a victim but she seemed to come across as extremely naive and trusting when she hooked up with Biggie. Basically, she did not have that 'street' mentality.

I was on the phone w/this dumb azz I stupidly loaned money to and I was basically bragging about this $150 silk Ralph Lauren skirt I got for like $25 at Macys. (I don't brag about how much I spend on something to say I have a lot of money. My friends and I like to brag about how much of a deal we got on clothes/shoes. "I got this $250 suit for $94!" and all that...) But anyway, she got quiet as I went on about the great after Christmas deals I was taking advantage of and it hit me later that she was upset that I could shop til I dropped but she couldn't because her dumb azz let the chick she was dating (long bizarre story) go through her money to the point where she was about to lose her house and asked me for money to save it. So I guess I did what you said and kinda rubbed her nose in it unintentionally. As for buying cologne from that fool - go for it. My good friend is a therapist here at my job and she gave me some advice so if I come back telling you guys I'm getting a divorce, you'll know why! LOL Lately, its the little things he (my stepson) has been doing that's pizzing me off and my husband has an excuse for him every time. I asked him this morning to go get money out of the bank with my ATM card for the cleaning ladies and he said he couldn't because he was going to the gym and didn't know when he'd be back! OMG...so today I plan on having a long time with him and hubby because I'm fed up!!! I just refuse to go to work everyday to take care of a grown azz man...he took my husband's car to get serviced and it came to $22 and my husband gave him back the money and the MF took it. I had to go to choir rehearsal heated because my husband didn't see a problem with him taking the money because he doesn't have a job!

They way some of the die-hards talk you'd think this dead man was running for sainthood. He had a few hits. Said some things that many of us liked to hear. Said a lot of vulgar and unspeakable things on record that when you get down to it cannot be ignored. He was a good rapper, perhaps among the best wordsmiths. The music of Big and Tupac to me was okay, nothing earth shattering and definitely not as uplifting as some of the great jazz artists I tend to listen to. If some of you want to make this man out to be a saint (he sold crack and possibly destroyed families in the process), his lyrics (though I am not a perfect person myself some of the songs have disgusting lyrics to them) I just cannot become interested in any movies about Big or Tupac. Just not my thing. Sorry.

When Biggie was on the corners selling/hustling, she was on the opposite try to make you join her and her co-believers with stuffing Watchtower pamplets in your hand! So in my opinion there is just nothing to talk about! Just because Faith had the seed, don't take and blow Kim out of the whole ordeal of his regular being! All of them Uckers made serious dough off of Big! So in my opinion, just show up, buy some popcorn and enjoy the Movie... Then take your enterprising A$$'s home! He's not coming back!
