So on that stage, Jamie prolly felt like a high skool geek who finally gets to make out with the attractive chairleader and he made sure he took advantage of the opportunity. It's anything but a myth when images of Black women are seen as non-sexual mammies or hypersexualized crack whores. So it's not easily seen or identified across individual exchanges but there's an institutional/organizational/societal component. Notice I'm not saying that it defines my sexuality or my success. I've been in predominantly White male environments as well as a student, employee, manager, etc. Just like racism, sexism and the combination thereof exists but they can occur on such a subtle, mundane levels....

Comment: I saw a true hollywood story on Halle just last night. It was very telling. Halle's father was an alcoholic and, according to Halle, used to beat the shyt out of her mother and her sister, but not her. She says she carried a lot of guilt. Your relationship with your father has a lot to do with your relations with men. When he died, Halle didn't even attend the funeral. From jump, although bi-racial, she identified her self as Black and her mother told her it was okay. She won homecoming queen but the white folks snatched it from her and accused her of stuffing the ballot box and then flipped a coin and she won again. She had a boyfriend who introduced her to pageants but who was also abusive and forced her to move from Cleveland to Chicago. Then she went into acting and either Spike, John Singleton, or Wesley knocked some of the hearing out of her. She won't say whom. Then she went to David Justice and that ended badly and then she went to Eric Benet and we all know how that ended. A lot of Black Men get mad at Halle (and women) because of her film depictions, but to me, Halle has more than tried with brothers. She got 14milliom for playing Storm making her the highest paid African American actress EVER. I hated Monster's Ball, and it took me a while to get past that. The sex scene still makes me wanna gag. But Halle is a beautiful accomplished actress and I am learning to respect the road that she's traveled.

Halle played the hell out of Dorothy Dandgridge. They wanted to cut the scene out of the movie where Dorothy gets to walk the red carpet- the first time ever for a Black Woman in the lead role category. Halle disagreed, wanted it in the movie, told them it was dire to the story and paid 250grand of her own money (her entire salary) to keep it in the film. She also played the tragic mulatto well in Queenie. THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD (she and Oprah) did well too. And we all know how she can play the hell out of a crack head. Her body of work is impressive, and I don't care what the critics say, Halle was a fierce CATWOMAN. A bad Bond girl as well.
