Comment: Ms. Hubert's (and she IS Aunt Viv to me) mistake is not separating the business and the personal, in my opinion.

Name: JAXXIE
Comment: We didn't really need to experience part two of this messy saga. As soon as I read "Let me explain something to you about Hollywood Negroes," she begins. "Hollywood negroes are afraid to not eat.", I was confirmed that her ish is much deeper than the deepest doo-dah.

Name: JAXXIE
Comment: Well said, jazzfan

Comment: I defended her the other day, and still think she has a right to speak out and should not be summarily dismissed, but I have to concede after reading this that this lady is indeed CERTIFIABLE, lol. She's a nutcase. Clearly, Will Smith is just her scapegoat, her cover for other personal problems. It says she dealt with "neurological issues," yep, I can see that, I can see that clearly. I don't think she's working with a full deck, so I cannot support her. She needs help, lots and LOTS and LOTS of it. smh

Name: DawnDuhDuh
Comment: I am left wondering if an olive branch was extended by Will Smith, would she be able to move on? I mean, after all these years, you've got to come to the point were you realize "it is what it is" and get back to being the architect of your happiness.

Name: TGen
Comment: DawnDuhDuh, the answer to your question is "NO." The article says that even when Will Smith changed the tone of his interviews and began to speak about her positively, her response was "Too little, too late." The lady has some MAJOR issues--and Will Smith is the least of them, lol.

Name: WordUp
Comment: EUR must be jealous of Will Smith's success. This story is slanted to show support of Janet Hubert, or at least let folks know what she is feeling about Will. Nonetheless, this attempt to bash Hollywood and Will Smith will not change a thing about Hollywood or Will Smith. Move on.

Name: whynotme
Comment: --->TGen I totally agree with you! She sounds like a nutcase in every sense of the word......Will Smith is not the problem now or then.....this woman would have snapped even if she was kept on the show all those years ago.....she just appears to me as unstable but I could be wrong but that's how she's coming across to me.

Name: WordUp
Comment: Ms. Hubert, I feel your pain, but if you manage to sell a few books , that's all you'll get out of lashing out at being blacklisted because you've just made it worse for yourself. Human resource personnel prolly won't hire you for a nine to five now. Some things are better left unsaid.

Comment: If hollywood is the snakes nest she's claiming...she's been done...btw..doesn't she look like the lady that scored big $$ from the Isiah basketball scandal?

J A N E T!! we get it ... and--- .....GET OVER YOURSELF!!!... and you woulda still been workin....

Name: SUGA32
Comment: I agree with all the previous comments. She really is nuts!! I am glad that Marcell (sp) spoke out because it counters her claim that the other actors harbored the same feelings which are untrue. He implies that she wanted them to go to bat for her which may have jeopardized their lively hoods. (smart man) She got the ax - and we can see that she didn't go quietly! She's talked a lot of smack about what was said to and about her in the form of jokes but as GROWN UPS; we shake it off and keep it moving. She's very bitter, angry, sarcastic and certifiable! I support Will Smith! That is all.

Name: MrUnapologetic69
Comment: Hmmmm... I say tell your story, Janet, no matter what people may say about you. People are always going to have something positive and/or negative to say - ALWAYS! Thereafter, move one... Life is way too short to keep all that past pain and anger knotted up in your heart. In my opinion THE TRUTH at this point is irrelevant BECAUSE people are going to believe what they believe.

Comment: Wow! This "nutcase" is burning a lot of bridges on her road to obscurity. I don's understand why she's calling all these people out. I guess she figures that if all else fails, at least she has he Irish husbands money to fall back on.

With all these excerpts who the heyell needs to read the entire thing...??!?! geesh lady gtfo it...and im all about free speech, but dayum how long she gone go on and on and on and on and on about this ish....

Comment: awww sheet WORDUP..why do you EUR poster Negroes always have to say that someone is jealous of someone else? Damn..

Name: queeniebunz
Comment: >lionqueen - That's what I was saying the other day. I even said that people who have experienced great tragedy like abuse move on after 20 years. Now y'all "get" what I was saying. As for Marcell, the Bri'ish are known for their tact and graciousness - and he holds true to form. A very elegant man, IMHO and that's why he's still working and she's sitting at her computer bangin' on the keys tryin the get her anger out. That crack about "Hollywood negroes" - just wow. If black folk weren't with you before, lady, you can best believe they aren't now with you now. Dayum. She basically threw all black people under the bus. How y'all like being under the R12? I'm under the F14, myself. It sounds like the playground. I bet when she was a kid she'd get mad and take her toys and go home if she didn't get her way or if another kid got more attention that she felt she deserved. People are really just big children. She's ridiculous. Oh, and did y'all catch it that her husband is white? Did I read that wrong? "Of Irish descent"...MC where are you??? LOL

Comment: book will sell..WIll will have to respond thereby assisitng in the successful promotions of the book....she will get a movie deal (book into screenplay into film) and maybe a reality show

Name: khufu
Comment: when she says "Hollywood negroes" she is also talking about herself is she not?

Name: Olivia
Comment: I don't see anything nutty about what she said. If this wasn't about Will I doubt her saying some blacks in Hollywood will do anything would be looked at sideways or that BW don't get support in Hollywood. To me Will Smith is an arrogant and has always been so everything she is saying doesn’t come out of left field for me. He did bad mouth her after the show and she didn’t have any venue to counteract it at the time. I haven’t cared for Will Smith for a host of reasons, including his 1998 interview with Barbara Walters in which he openly criticized black athletes for the way they speak and stating he does not like to talk about racism. Yes he actually said BLACK and then explained how he did not like to talk about racism. Uh ..who does like to talk about it? Over the years Will has said some of the oddest stuff over the years and it goes unchallenged. One major one comes to mind is his justification of not having a black love interest in Hitch “There’s sort of an accepted myth that if you have two black actors, a male and a female, in the lead of a romantic comedy, that people around the world don’t want to see it,” Smith told the British a paper. This is myth that he has accepted as well. Now back to Janet, do I believe everything she says, nope. Do I believe some? Yes.

Comment: *clappin' my hands* That was a great article from D. Pryor. One of the best I've read on this site. Just when I thought that writers were "gettin' lazy" (as Prince would say) I read somethin' like this.

Name: MzTee
Comment: I still believe she has a right to tell her story. And, like TGen, after reading PartI, I defended her when folks said she should get over it. After reading Part2, it became clearly evident to me that Ms. Hubert has some serious issues that this book won't solve. The Hollywood Negroes comment was very telling as well as all of the health issues she had. Given what she said about Avery and Marcell, Marcell was extremely kind in his response...more kind than she deserves since she's throwing everyone under the bus. While she thinks she may be healed, her words indicate she suffers from a victim mentality. A trip to a therapist wouldn't hurt.

Name: queeniebunz
Comment: >khufu - Uh uh. There ain't gon be no movie deal. Will Smith is a mega star in the same category as Tom Cruise, etc. Ain't no way on God's green earth is a studio going to produce a story that goes against Smith. Uh uh. I'd bet my condo on it. Not gonna happen. No sale. I know this - I ain't hardly gonna buy that book. I don't want to put that kind of negativity into my spirit. It's like the bitterness will jump off the pages and suffocate you. Nope. She can keep all of those words.

Name: yunvme
Comment: (queeniebunz)If black folk weren't with you before, lady, you can best believe they aren't with you now. (me)..keep it real, she lost the few black folks who were on her side, when she mentioned her white husband. Keep it reall yall.

Comment: I think Ms. Hubert has hurt herself even more. Did anyone catch the comment about being roughed up by the Burbank Police Dept.? WTH, I wonder what happened? Or did I read that wrong?

Name: SpecialK
Comment: If she's so happy in her life now why is she bringing up this old baggage? What does she hope to get out of it? Move on with your life and try to be happy. Time is so precious so let them bygones be bygones. Build a bridge Ms. Hubert and cross it.

Name: kwrob
Comment: If Will wasn't the biggest bankable star in Hollywood right now, she would have nothing to go on as far as targeting him in her book because it wouldn't sell. She says she was mad at everybody, and everybody left her. Then her career starting dying. But she has yet to look in the mirror. She reminds me of Omerosa.

Name: dede0320
Comment: "Yunvme, dang you sound like Janet herself, who cares because she has a yt husband? No one made a case out of that, darn. The lady is a nut case with or without a yt man..You were bashing her the other day about her playing the race card, now today you are saying we don't like her becuase she is married to a yt man, you and her need group therapy...

Name: kwrob
Comment: She also reminds me of how Tisha Campbell sabatoged "Martin" with the sexual harassment claim. None of the other people on the show were uncomfortable around Martin, including her friend Tichina Arnold, who worked with Martin on several occasions after the show.

Name: MzTee
Comment: Khufu...not for one minute do I believe Janet considers herself a Hollywood Negro. That comment she made was very insulting and derogatory. Hell, step n fetchit came to mind when I read it.. I wouldn't be surprised if she was thinking that when she made the statement.

Comment: First of all let me say that I absolutely LOVED Janet Hubert's Aunt Viv. When she was replaced with Daphne Reed, something just "did not compute" anymore. I loved Daphne in "Frank's Place" (a great show that ended too soon...), but her Aunt Viv did nothing for me. I think Janet is a talented, passionate and beautiful sister. I admire what she's doing in her work with children and trying to be a positive force in their lives. With that said, I am 100% sure that the phrase "Does not play well with others" appearled on MANY of her report cards. I think it's very telling that it appears that she is the only "Fresh Prince" cast member that had issues with Will, the producers, etc... I don't doubt anything that she wrote is true, but I think that she could have handled the situation differently. When as a grown-azz woman (mid-late thirties), you are having disagreements with a CHILD (Will was what, 17? 19?), you have to be the adult and the bigger person. If that child wants to act a fool, then let him. Just don't act a fool with him. As far as her needing to "get over it" and "move on" , that's easier said than done. There are things that happened in my life that I haven't "gotten over" and may never "get over", but I have put them in perspective and not allowed them to rule my life. I used them as learning oppportunities and as motivation to do better going forward. With prayer, soul-searching, and the services of a licensed professional, I hope Janet can do the same. I will give her credit though for at least waiting until her son is out of high school before writing the book. (That might be a major reason why "she took so long to come out with this book.") And I really hope she didn't run into the arms of a white man just because her black ex-husband, black male co-workers, and other black men whom she felt wronged her made her sour on all black men. That would be a shame. (Tina Turner and Halle Berry come to mind...)

Name: Closet_Nerd_Girl
Comment: >khufu- YEP!!! I can totally see her on "Surreal Life" or any such show where has-been celebrities go off to pasture.

Comment: Again as I predicted the other day, this woman is nuts, bitter and over the top. If Will wasn't an A-Lister then she would have never came out of the woodworks with this garbage. Talking about being happy, yeah right. She won't be happy until Will Smith crumbles.

Name: Reds
Comment: So there you have it. The lady is not just a hater trying to hurt Will, she just wanted to give her side of the story and release the pain. She also was blacklisted, so no one would publish the book so she did it on her own. Good for you Janet. … “ When asked by Lee Bailey why she did not tell her story earlier Hubert says, "Because I didn't think anybody really cared. I kept saying 'why would anybody care. They love him. They love him…They're going to think 'what a %*$!(, she's just trying to take him down. That's how Black women are…just hatin'… I've always been such a private person, [but] it's too much to bear. I'm healed. I'm totally healed because I've got love."

Comment: Good post closet nerd>>> and Yunvme you were the only one to mention it in that context, yes some other posters did mention that she was married to a yt guy......my point is that is the least of her worries and it should be the least of yours, she was talked about before the second part and the revelation of her yt husband. Who said he was yt anyway?, he could be biracial like you yunvme, but just be of Irish Ancestry..but most likely he's yt, but I'm okay with it

Comment: I suggest you re read what I said. I was speaking of the people here who will now have a problem with her white husband. What context did you get out of that, and why do you proclaim to know anything about me? You sound foolish.

Name: JAXXIE
Comment: LOL, she didn't publish before because nobody cared: we still don't care. In a time when we are in desparate need to wise elders, we get exposed to people like "Aunt Viv" who are too egocentric to pass the baton with wisdom and respect.

Comment: If she is only selling this on her website, no one will be buying it. I can see if it was at a bookstore or something. Will it at least be available on Amazon.com? Something must have been going on inside her head during those years because EVERYONE deserted her (her opinion) even her husband. Did she ever stop to wonder why?

Name: Grace12_34
Comment: WHATEVER ... NOBODY who appeared on that show is starving. They are ALL, including Janet, STILL collecting royalties every single time that show flashes on the screen. I never watched the show in its heyday, but I watch it now and then for an occasional chuckle. She's still getting paid from that show. She may have been replaced by a different actress, but they are still running episodes of that show with her in them. I am going to buy and read the book because I'm just curious like that.

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: Will is NOWHERE NEAR Tom Cruise status. Tom did not start off in TV having a show wrapped around him. Tom has been and stayed in movies for his entire career. I still remember watching Tom in The Outsiders. He's a relatively decent actor. Will may/could become the first Black actor to surpass race in entertainment, esp. if he continues the pattern of pairing with non-Black co-leads. Apparently Will isn't worried about losing Black fans to reach that goal. And he knows if any audio/video the "yo mama so black jokes" said in front of a white audience, Will's Black fan base would evaporate. What Janet should have done is gotten some evidence of Will's unpopular rants from back in the day to trump/support her story. Now Janet just looks like a jilted thespian due to some wet behind the ears youth from Philly. I hope she finds her peace.

Comment: Anybody get the sense that this woman is just 'victimized' by everybody. I tire of folk who don't feel the need to claim any personal responsibility for anything. In her mind Will Smith is the devil... 20 years later, he's still putting on a "charade." Her husband left her. Her friends left her. Quincy Jones didn't want nothing to do with her. Producer Stallworth did her wrong. The baby took all her weight. Her friends left her. Tom Joyner did her wrong. NBC's lawyers did her wrong. HER lawyers did her wrong. None of the "Fresh Prince" cast stood up (for her). The cashiers in the stores gave her scorn. Oprah don't like C and D Listers. Writers didn't want nuthin to do with her. The Burbank police 'jacked' her. Ebony Magazine sucks because they've got no readership. Joseph Marcel for thinking he had a "close friend" in Janet. Yada Yada. When does JANET HUBERT take some damn responsibility in this?

Name: queeniebunz
Comment: >Dove - You can say that if you want but I believe Smith is in that category. There are a few guys that are pretty much type cast now. When they want "a cocky white guy" Tom Cruise was the one they went for - for the longest time. Now they have Smith - "the cocky black guy" - he does the same stuff only he's brown. He IS in that category of actors they go to when they want that kind of actor. Say what you want but that's that. I also put him in that category of actor because of all of the producing he does and because of the fact that He and Jada are considered "Hollywood Royalty" - just like Tom and Nicole were and Tom and Katie are now. And I don't even like Smith that much. I don't hate him or even dislike him. I just find his movies to be somewhat formulaic except for the few he's done "out of the box". but that's me. TV has nothing to do with it. He is powerful because he produces. He is one of the few who can probably greenlight a movie just by him starring in it - just like Tom Cruise, Denzel, etc.

Name: JAXXIE
Comment: Well, she does say "I'm trying to do my projects but I can't get past it until I deal with [this]," . This passes by pitiful into an entirely different realm of pathos.

Name: queeniebunz
Comment: >Exmun - you had me laughing when you had her blaming her kid for being skinny! That's funny!...I caught that "jacked by the police" thing, too. What the ham sandwich is she talking about? How do you get "jacked" by the police? I thought "jacking" applied to cars. Does she mean they hemmed her up? Gave her a ticket? Had her face down w/a foot on her neck and a gun to her head?...

Name: McNasty
Comment: No matter how it pans out for her - she had a right to tell her story. Because we all go through serious situations in our lives and deal with them differently I'm not sure why she has to be nuts or bitter. Talking about an old situation you never got closure for brings up old emotions and its coming out in her interviews. Something happened and I believe Will was at the root of it. However even before Will came into the picture Janet Hubert exhibited the same arrogant attitude that Vanessa Bell Calloway displays such that she treated Cheryl Underwood like dirt when she ended up on Oh Drama! That couldn't have helped her on a show that wasn't about her but about the boy. Hopefully she will purge through this process and her book will be successful enough for her to continue her forward movement and Will - well if they are chickens he sent out from his yard they will indeed eventually come home to roost!

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: Queeniebunz>>>true...true...esp. the cocky black guy.... But Hollywood is just NOT that colorblind.... He wants to get to that status and he may be the first to actually get there, esp. due to the "Obama Effect" (Ha! I got Obama into this convo!)

Comment: er, sure dede...You can pay in 3 EASY installments...*(leave it to NEE-GROWS to ask for layaway)>Ex, she IS a victim...You knew the "butler' wasn't gonna collaborate her story...This poor woman has been fucced over by the Will Smith machine...Her only hope may be to become a scientologist...Will wouldn't dare go against one of his own...I hear they're a real tight-close-knit group...

Name: Exmun
Comment: @Queenie. [snickering about the baby taking her weight]. I believe Janet wanted the 'Fresh Prince' to be a second iteration of the 'Cosby Show'. If you recall, at the time Fresh Prince came out when the Cosby Show was going out. I think that's what she wanted. Her heavy hand in the contract negotiation suggests someone who believed they had more power than they did. She azzumed that she had parity with the star of the Show, Will Smith. She azzumed wrong.

Name: TGen
Comment: Reds, she lied. She absolutely wrote the book to "hurt Will." That's blatantly obvious. The problem is she's pyscho. If she was a level-headed person who just wanted to write an auto-bio of her experience as a Black actress and just mention how seasoned actors sometimes clash with newcomers, that's one thing. But it's clear the book is CENTERED around how she was "victimized" (yes Exmun, you were right, I was wrong) by this young kid. Based on her rant, she has no more credibility, at least not in my book. McNasty, the problem is this book will do anything but close that chapter in her life--and I don't think that's what she even wants. She wants to keep that chapter open as I guess those were her glory days (career-wise.) What she's doing is making things worse, she's not only keeping the wound open, but PICKING AT IT, which means it will stay sore longer. Tell-all's are for attention-seekers and weirdos. The lady needs SERIOUS help!

She sounds and likely was jealous of Will because Will is still to this day doing his thing. If he was at fault, he wouldn't be where he is now. She sounds very confused to me...unstable problems......One can see why her husband left her....too much

Comment: >TGen - "She wants to keep that chapter open as I guess those were her glory days (career-wise.)" For this to be her "glory days" seems kinda sad. This is the kinda thing they make comedy movies about. They'll have a washed up actor/actress dwelling on playing the walk on character who had 2 lines and now he/she is washed up but gets another chance. LOL

Name: Dante
Comment: I don't think she's nuts, from what I heard back then she was black listed and couldn't get a job. Will Smith is responsible, it's so easy for people to say get over it and move on, It just like saying to a young man in his twenties who was raised up by a single parent home to go on and forget about never having a father in his life but he goes on to be a woman abuser. For all you who taking the Will Smith train you better get off it before it wrecks, It doesn't matter if he is mega rich, we all one day going to be accountable for our actions.

Comment: Will somebody PLEASE give this woman a hug, damn!!! Oh wait, then she might accuse you of sexual harrassment or at least wrinkling her shirt....nevermind. This chick really needs a big dose of "life is not fair". Yes, she had the pedigree and if the world were fair, the show would've been called Aunt Viv in Belair. But, alas, in the real world, youngins with no training whatsoever are salivated upon by studio execs instead of those who lived, breathed and perfected the craft over many years.

Comment: I hope Ms Hubert reads this: LET IT GO!!!! Trust me, I have been down the path of being a woman scorned...you have to forgive and let it alone. Unforgiveness is like drinking acid and waiting for the other person to die. And I see that this has messed with you on so many different levels. Will's life is not as perfect as it seems to everyone; he experiences all of the ups and downs that we do, he just has a different mentality on handling it. Ms. Hubert, you HAVE TO LET THIS THING GO...it is making you look deeply troubled.

Comment: "Hollywood negroes are afraid to not eat...No one stands up for Black women period...(it is difficult watching Smith on interviews) pretending like he is Mickey Mouse...I've had sisters' sit behind me at events and talk about me like a dog...I was blacklisted by Black people...I love Oprah but I don't think she's there for the sisters that ain't on the A-List...I had lunch with her best friend Gayle (thinking) she would like this, because its quality. [Yeah] Right!...I got jacked after leaving The Fresh Prince by the entire Burbank Police Department, and I completed over 390 hours of community service in the river bottom of Riverside county with convicts...Who the hell reads Ebony magazine? I don't!" I think it's clear that this woman needs help. All her problems are everyone else's fault, from Will to Gayle to Oprah to the Burbank PD to every Black person. The dilemma for me now is this: Do I buy her book out of pity's sake? Hmmm. Guess not, as it sounds like that big strong Irish lad of hers has got her back (my condolenscences to him, by the way).

Comment: The women needed to vent and release all that pent up anger. I'll read that damn book cause I love good juicy gossip. Although she has alienated Oprah, and Tom Joyner and their friends, hey Aunt Viv, I know who'll have you on their show---Wendy Williams. Yep and her show is fresh off the block too and this would be the perfect venue for you sell a hellava lot of books. And, Wendy gonna enjoy every minute of telling that story.

Name: dcdouglass01
Comment: Yeah she was blacklisted, but her own attitude and actions took her there. I could sense her greater-than-thou attitude through the TV screen during the show's original run. What did Will say? "She's mad now but she's been mad all along. She said once, 'I've been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.' No matter what, to her I'm just the AntiChrist." I believe that was her attitude and it got her jettisoned to the blacklist. And she probably would have gotten there eventually anyway, with or without Will's assistance.

Comment: So Janet isn't pragmatic? I just read both days coverage of this remain confused by the comments. The consensus is that she should "get over it" or better yet, "grin and bear it." If speaking now about something that happened over 15 years ago, it seems as if she did grin and bear it. We believe that Will probably was arrogant and an azz in his youth. Even DJ chimes in validating his constant lateness. I'm wondering "why" that is accepted as an excuse or "understood" when the same stated about any number of current "rappers/actors" is likened to NRB (Negrodian Regressive Behavior). Understandably most are looking at this through the lends of simply entertainment..much like basketball. Imagine Jordan's (in his prime) reaction to the Bulls accepting Kobe's (as a sub-par rookie) youth and all that entailed. O'Kelly as a writer vs. EUR's "sultry." Janet was the "Phd" on the set and while her ego may have gotten in the way, SHE was the trained professional. Maybe she should have known her place. But SHE was the trained professional. Maybe speaking out 16 years later is tacky. But I am inclined to believe that most of the negative reaction to this is 100% situational

Name: bannedntheusa
Comment: Had the players been switched to Angela B%*$et/Beyonce, none of this remarkably great advice on pragmatism would matter. Hell, Beyonce is currently blamed for something that happened when she was what 18? She was blamed for her father (Quincy-Benny) making DC (Fresh Prince) her (Will) vehicle to success. Will was 21/22. Need I say more? Yes, Situational at best. ****I should add the the reaction also has much to do w/the rollout. Nothing wrong w/contacting EUR but when the article written about you is similar in tone to a Karrine "Superhead" Steffans "I skd and fkd a million dycks and now I"m stuck w/Eddie Winslow" then this is what you get. Did anyone even "read" Monday's article? It was meant to elicit the responses it did thanks to the National Enquirer-like feel it had and unfortunately being a woman and mos def black often unaffords you the opportunity to appear disgruntled. This case is classic...as well as the comments. Interestingly enough, many of YOU have talked about hollywood "any old production will do as long as I'm working" negros and are taken aback by Janet saying so. Is there no truth to it or you just don't want "her" saying it. Sounds like Jeremiah Wright meets Star Jones redux.

But, as a consumer I will only support, in this case books, that will benefit my own personal growth. Times are too hard for merely entertainment. It's not what you say it's how you say it. It's not what you do it's how you go about it. And regardless of the level of truth which may or may not be within her words, I believe her manner going about this opens herself to more criticism than the person she is criticizing. Nevertheless, people want the dirt and she will sell books...but at what price...pun intended.

Comment: bannedntheusa "Imagine Jordan's (in his prime) reaction to the Bulls accepting Kobe's (as a sub-par rookie) youth and all that entailed." Your comparison is an unequal one to the Will Smith-Janet Hubert drama. She may have been a "seasoned" actress, but she wasn't the "star" of the show. The show was designed around Will Smith (the Fresh Prince). Everybody else was the supporting cast from jump. She wasn't the "Jordan" of this set. At best, she was a veteran player who was the paid supporting cast of the new guy. And if she didn't figure that out at the outset, SURELY by year three when this all went down she should have damn well realized it. SHE and SHE only is the cause of why she didn't remain employed on that show.

Is it bytchy to complain about the star of the show being late, inappropriate, and immature? You can say so. I don't have a problem w/nething Janet has said. I only wish that she had not allowed herself to be put out there like this. I don't think she's crazy, loosy-goosy or anything like that. I believe she is speaking candidly (like we often do) and people are playing shocked to hear it. What she did was speak to her principles. But having principles won't keep you employed. She learned it the harder way. That said, it seems disingenuous to suggest, after revealing how they cut her out of shows and banned her from doing any other work, that SHE is the SOLE reason why she isn't employed. Tell u what, let your company (after hiring a fresh out of law school lawyer who hadn't pas.sed the bar) cut back on ur hours, prohibiting your income, and come back and tell me that u understand it was SOLELY ur fault..lol BTW, u can choose the Angela/Beyonce comparison if u like that better..

Comment: Bannedntheusa, great posts. But I have to say you underestimate the posters. Yes, this article and its sister on Monday were written in tabloid-style (after all, this is seedy stuff! lol), but some of the posters here are actually able to read past that provocation and dissect this "situation" (your word) objectively. You imply that we are saying there is "no truth to" what Hubert says. I don't think anyone (or at least not most) has implied anything of the sort. On the contrary, most admit she's probably telling the truth, as far as how events went down. But that's not what makes her "nutty." That label comes from her reaction to the "situation." The tell-all is one thing, tacky in and of itself, but the dialogue she uses to accompany it, at least in this interview, is just...wow. Imo, it is clear from this interview that "bratty, spolied, egotistical" Will Smith is not the source of her angst, he is the scapegoat. She feels that she was railroaded. Fine, that sucks, take it to court. Oh, you did? Nothing came of it? Time to keep it moving. Your success is all the vindication you need. Oh, but you can't get success? Why? Because "they" won't let you? All your showbiz friends left you? Your hubby left you? You ask [in the article] "Who do you turn to" when that happens? Hint: It ain't Lee Bailey, Janet! lol

In a situation like this, you remain still, you get on your knees and pray and you wait for God to work for you. This is the scripture I used to support that. As far as no one standing up for her, people do like to eat. Of course the older cast members weren't going to support her - Will and that show were their bread and butter. They know how hard it is for black folks to work in Hollywood. They had to save their azzes, and like she stated, the cast members probably would've thrown anyone under the bus that would interfered with that. Support you? Hell to the naw. Support Will? You betcha! Her comment about, "No one stands up for black women" is SO ON POINT. That's all imma say about that. I'm glad to hear she is married to a man who has her back and loves her regardless of his color. Olivia, I cosign and concur. If this wasn't about Will, people would be saying something altogether different.

Comment: Janissi, if this wasn't about Will Smith, it wouldn't have made news. But rest assured, most who've labeled this lady a nut have done so because of HOW she is going about this not simply because she is speaking out. She is certifiable. See my initial comment to this post waaay above about all of the various people that she complains of in a brief interview. Nuts doesn't even begin to explain this woman's victimology.

Comment: Queeniebunz: “>Reds - Rachel got in that azz like a bike with the seat off last night, .. “ … Last night? They knew from then. They say the affair was discovered five months ago. But who actually knew? … BTW QB, on “Was out at lunch so I had to catch up….” … I feel you. Knaw a mean?

Comment: I liked Mrs. Reids character better. She did not fit the role.

Comment: BrotherSlade: “I liked Mrs. Reids character better. She did not fit the role.” … You got to be the first person I heard that feels that way. But to each his own.

Comment: That's really strange, BrotherSlade, since "Aunt Viv" was CREATED BY Janet. Amazing.

Comment: IS SHE CRAZY? Slamming 'who reads Ebony?' She's a 'piece of work' (as what I always hear white men say when they want to show distain, like in the movie with Sanaa Lathan)
