Comment: Well I know the promoters of he music festival that's held in Cincinnati every summer said Jill was difficult to work with the first time she was there. But they brought her back a second time last year. On stage she was great of course. But after her set, she came out into the crowd with her bodyguards to watch the rest of the show, but had the nerve to not want to be bothered with people talking to her. She could have stayed away from the crowd and watched from the side of the stage like other artists tend to do.

The writer throwing that tidbit in there implies the breakup is a result of Jill's difficult nature -- unless the writer has proof, it should have been left out the article.

She was quoted somewhere as saying she will not give a concert in Houston anymore becasue "the fans just want to sit down. They won't stand up." I'm like, WTH????? If I'm paying good money for a concert, I will sit if I want to sit, or stand when I want to stand. And no, I DON'T want to sing the chorus to your song while you hold the mic out over the audience. I paid my money to hear/see YOU perform, not to have to work myself. With that said, I still LOVE Jill Scott! LOL!!!

Comment: I guess I'm the only one not surprised to hear she's [allegedly] "difficult to work with." I can so see that, lol. Maybe it's her "Gettin in the Way" song or something that made me think that. Or maybe it's the bravado air she has in interviews. Or maybe it's just because back in the day one of my best friends and I used to argue over who was "best," Badu or Scott, and he looved some Jill Scott and I looved some Badu, so maybe I'm jaded from those days, lol. That said, Kevobox, you're right that sometimes that "difficult" label just comes from people who think you're supposed to kiss their azzes, so I can see how any strong-minded person (myself included, lol) could get that label. But whatever. Re her relationship, maybe her and babydaddy can patch it up for the child's sake. I wonder what could have happened at that supposedly joyous moment to cause a break-up, kinda like Nas/Kelis divorcing while expecting their first child! So bizarre! Then again, as someone else stated, JScott's relationship started on messy ground, ala leaving hubby for drummer, then getting knocked up. Comment: They aren't together now because they didn't take the time to really get to know each other - they just skipped to to the good stuff and then reproduced. Jill needs to revisit her character in Why did I get married. Her character stayed in colorado and got her shat in order and then married the sheriff. Jill jumps from one relationship to another like she's scared to be on her own. I pray that's not it cause there is nothing good in store for her if that's the case.
I hope too that Jill doesn't think thinking she's in love is where her talent for writing good music comes from. If she is she is sadly mistaken and its time for her to find out rather than look for another man to come temporarily into her life.

I know when I went to the Sugarwater Tour back in 2005 at Merriweather Post in Columbia, MD, we weren't rowdy per se but we were a good audience by her standards, I guess. That was a good tour - Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Floetry, Queen Latifah - nice. I think she maybe doesn't "get it" that her audience isn't the same she'd find at a Lil Wayne show or a Beyonce concert or whatever. LOL We are older and not as off the hook.

While I agree with you that reproducing before a long term commitment, preferably for me marriage is not a good idea, I don't know about the getting to know each other part. Isn't it also possible that they 'did' get to know each other and have determined that they don't work? Now I'd be the first person to say that it woulda been better to find this out before reproducing, but their split could just mean that they've found out that they are not right for each other just as well as your hypothesis.

Comment: Unfortunately I heard a local DJ who hosted one of her shows describe her experience with Jill as not being good. She went into a long explanation about the encounter. It kind of surprised me the DJ put her on blast on the radio. That was the first time I heard of her being a difficult person. I did find it strange the way the writer threw the comment into the article though.
