Comment: Debra Lee needs to apologize for that bulls#!t. Debra should watch the upcomming espy awards to see how award shows and tributes are supposed to be done. I know it's a sports awards show, but they do a great job.

Comment: I agree big10..BET had a shy*t load of viewers and twitters maybe, but a tremendous number of those viewers and twitters had very negative comments about the show and Debra knows that. She can be happy about those numbers for now if she wants because she'll never see them again.

Comment: Was this info provided to EUR by BET? I ask because I just read that the Jon & Kate + 8 was the most watched show for the week of Jun 22-28. Are they trying to justify all the coonery that went on during that show by proclaiming themselves a ratings winner?

Comment: I caught last night's (Tuesday night) show and must say I was impressed with this years show. The performances were all great except for that of Kerri Hilson, Ciara and the shading out of the minors dancing with the rapper Drake. Jamie did a good job as host. My fav performance was Neyo on Lady In My Life.

Comment: I agree, I thought it was unfortunate that the show was so poor given the fact that the eyes of the world were on it -- however, I've come to expect that from BET. I think the even sadder part is that with the show paying tribute to Michael Jackson, and playing his music, it really underscored how far black music has sunk. From Motown to what we have now. That was also obvious during the Ojays' performance. There are some ominous signs out there for the state of black music, such as the fact that Vibe has quit publishing.

Comment: dport, the only saving grace for that show was Maxwell, Tevin Campbell and The O'Jays. Lil' Wayne and Drake stunk up the joint with that disgrace of a performance along with Ving Rhames. I don't know what show you were watching. 10.7 million viewers watched that coonfest. Michael deserved better. TinLA it hurts my heart to see how really in the gutter our music is now. I remember when we had music that had been anticipated; wanted to see who was going to drop what jewel now it's all a sham.
