Comment: JCP: If/when we ever reach a point where there is more "reverse discrimination" than racial discrimination against minorities, holla @ me. Because until then, you're saying that the reason there are a higher percentage of Blacks and Hispanics incarcerated, unemployed and undereducated is due to some pathological defect in us and not systemic racism.

Comment: I think the reason for the high number of Blacks & Hispanics are to fold. I think it's part racism for some and part stupidity on others who think crime is their job and education don't matter. Those people need to take some responsiblity for their actions. I'm tired of us, passing the buck. The buck stops here, we decide our outcome!

Comment: Bravo...Jazzfan -- ITA. Ladybyrd...to a certain extent I agree with you. But, you can't argue that with little opportunity for gainful employment, substandard educational facilities, discontinued afterschool and sports programs -- folks are left with few options. Ill begotten means begin to appear attractive. Not condoning it, but I can see how it's tempting. Not to mention, some educated and well-off black folks consider those less fortunate in our community as subhuman and don't want to lend a helping hand. My point is -- I think systemic racism is more of a culprit than the so-called pathology of the less fortunate not taking advantage of opportunities because in many instances there aren't any.

Comment: WHAT A PIZZ-OFF! The concept "post racial" is bullsh!t. JCP knows it. Lead by the conservative activisim of the US Supreme Court, call it what it is: status quo ante with regard to race relations. The "ante" takes us back to the "real" America before 1965 when manly men were white, women knew their places and black men could be hung for sport. A country like America with a 233+ year history with racism built into its original Constitution and with classism over arching everything, racial distractions are heavily counted upon as the opiate for the masses. When America becomes post racial, there would be nothing to stop human events based on socio-economic introspection followed by nonretractable upheaval. Reminder: originally, the only people permitted to vote were land owning white men. That group of people has morphed into the mighty corporations with legal "personhood" status that manage us through our elected officials.

Comment: Example of systemic racism with regard to the incarcerated: there is tougher sentencing for crack cocaine use versus lighter sentencing for powder cocaine use. Crack is consumed by blacks/hispanics while powder is consumed by whites. These days there is increased recognition of the lack of judicial fairness in this area, but that won't increase the likelihood that the prison industrial complex will become post racial. There's mega bucks made in the criminalization black/hispanic behavior.

Comment: JCP, you say you have two sons. What the h.e.l.l. are you going to say and do when one or both of them are racially profiled in your 'post-racial' society? They actually give mofockers huge grants to study our behavior, not to feed, cloth, house, or educate us, but to study our behavior. How focked up is that? Comment: Double edged sword here. Racism does exist, many reasons too many to get into but here are a few. Affirmative action or lack of it. White women benefit the most, imagine if the programs were truly beneficial. Wow, black men and women owning their own companies and going to work, truly independent. But people like JCP would tell you, the reason you are not succssful is because of a lack of hard work. Riiiiiight. Okay, number two, in the executive world and even on a smaller scale, whites still hire individuals they are comfortable with. I know in Chicago blacks are "redlined" meaning when you submit a resume and have a "black name" or a "black address" your resume gets tossed, immediately. In my line of work, IT, agency calls you up, based on your resume, they tell you we have a immediate fill. Fine. Go for it, but the catch is, you have to come in to the office. So what this means is, you got past the first round (your name is not ghetto, your address is not in the hood and you speak well) but once you get in the office and they see you are black, it is a no go. You get told the job is filled or the company does not have the funding. Now you may ask are there black IT agencies? Yes but check this out, they REFUSE to hire blacks as well. Sure there are a sprinkle but not enough. Now I am not bitter I just figure out ways to upgrade my skills, beat the system and still get paid. But some of what JCP says makes sense but most of it, man please.

Comment: Everything affirms white people but none of it is labeled affirmative action. The closest that I am aware that whites have been treated the same as blacks is with regard to subprime housing loans which were extended to whites on a massive scale as part of the housing bubble. In a US cultural scheme that thrives on hate including and especially religious based race hate, this country is not going to be post racial, ever. We are going to experience the protection of white status when it slips into minority because of the rising tide of the latino population.

Comment: JAXXIE, a good two-thirds or more of the Latinos entering this country today are dirt poor, illiterate, illegal Mexicans, with multiple babies, who REFUSE to learn English are adopt some of our american values. They want our money, but do not want to become a part of our culture. What the various states are going to end up with is just like a broke-azz California. When I lived in Northern California, a family of five Mexicans received over $1,000 in cash grants and $500 in food stamps, monthly, not to mention the free medical care -- people depleting a system where more revenues were going out than coming in. Is it any wonder California, one of the two largest states in this country is broke? It is not over, expect to see it happen in other states as well. I say all of the above to stress that I am not afraid of Latinos taking over the political systems, (shyt, some of their LEGAL brothers and sisters are pizzed off at them) but depleting the states, one by one, until we're all going to be living in a shythole third world country. When I first moved to California, the ONLY landscapers you saw were Japanese and believe me their landscapes were beautiful, a true art form. Not only have the illegals eclipsed the Japanese landscapers in California, but EVERY landscaper I see in Georgia is Mexican. Make no mistake, the illegals are gleefully working for a fraction of the amount legal americans would get for these jobs, but because they come from a place where their government have kept them barefeet, illiterate and pregnant, once they come here, they think they've died and gone to heaven!

Comment: Conrad, you have presented many truths. The US has a Consitutional (?) law that permits citizenship for everybody born in this country. As of this note all of those latino illegals are exponentially producing latino citizens. California is broke for a number of reasons including footing the bill for an unknown number of legal and illegal latinos. This is spilt milk. 'Merica is gonna suck it up and deal with it on the road to banana republic status. White interests will coninue to receive primary status even as it becomes the largest minority because they will continue to be in charge of running everything. Is this JCP's true the post racial focus?
