Comment: "Joe’s fierce drive paid big dividends with the Jackson’s. The fame, dollars, and adulation rolled in. They boys did not do drugs, join gangs, commit any crimes, and they could not be accused of educational or professional underachievement." ... Thank you Ofari. I tried to make the exact point yesterday.

Comment: In an age when most Black children have not grown up with a father in the household (that’s right MOST – check the stats), it’s hard for many to understand that at one time a Black father’s word was the law in most Black households. And the law was enforced by a belt that he seldom had to remove from his waist because none of the kids in the household were foolish enough to intentionally cause him too. Any father that didn’t run his household was seen as a bad father in those days, because “Spare the rod, spoil the child” and a passage from the bible stating that any man that didn’t beat his child when the child gets out of line doesn’t love the child were widely held beliefs by most at the time. Did Joe Jackson take it too far? Probably…if the words of Mijac and LaToya are to be believed. But you can’t deny the outcome – all his kids turned out to be productive citizens. Since the time that getting a “whupping” has been changed to mean “being physically abused” and “beaten” have our kids been better off? Again, check the stats.

Comment: They may not have been in drugs, but all of them seem to have self-hate issues. Have not all or most of them had plastic surgery? Somewhere along the line, between all the "strict discipline to succeed" you applaud, the kids seem to have missed the lesson on love. Could it be papa only seemed interested in "love" when making money was involved? Hmmm I'm not sure, I'm just saying that plugging your damn record label as the world mourns the death of your son doesn't make that possibility seem so far-stretched. I'm not making a definitive opinion either way cuz I don't know any of the Jacksons. I'm just giving you something to think about...

Comment: True he might not have been what he is today, but maybe he really didn't want to but forced into it. They all should have stayed together like the OJays and continue to make music. To most people on earth, its all about the money...the root of all evils. True, back in the day your parents didn't play with you and demanded respect and we all gave it. Today's children are cut from a different cloth, that being very disrespectful, conning, murderers, rapist, you name it. And we have to look to the generation that borne them......

Comment: "allegedly shopping a record deal"? I saw it live on CNN, and it's on tape. That man didn't say ANYTHING about losing a son or a child, just about losing a star, a superstar.

Comment: ...at what cost? Michael would'vd probably given it all back for love. I've seen JJ up close and personal. He's a demon. No other way to put it.
