To get shot and killed by a 20 year old waitress from Dave and Busters? On your couch? Shot 4 times, that looks like a personal thing, she was not happy. Dayum.

Comment: McNair's death is messy as I do not know what!smh I bet old girl was angry because he was about to quit her and take all of the stuff back. They were recently involved in some type of traffic stop, so McNair was probably scared that his 20 year old would heap bad press upon his already married head! What exactly is a role model?IMO, athletes should not be put on pedalstals and called role models because now his own sons will live with the stigma of their father's brutal and senseless murder by someone! Also, these guys need to stop toying with people's emotions because that is a sure way to end up in a pine box.

Look at him now with folk speculating about his lifestyle as rolemodel and a family man.The NFL should stop "picking and choosing" the players that they claim are nice and kind for the sport because some of them are straight up trife. Comment: Barnone if there are exceptions it wouldn't be Ali - he invented the definition of man whore. We should admire people for their good works cause none of us do right all the time and we certainly can't expect that out of pro athletes and especially in light of the fact that somebody isn't raising their daughters right. Seems they all grow up and aspire to be uneducated jump offs, groupies and video ho's and none of them have any morals.
These guys can't do this shyt without the help of some dumb as.s female looking to live large on someone else's dime!

Comment: EUR, why did you 'erase' my post on this last night? Censorship? I thought we lived in the land of free speech. My mistake. I didn't cuss or threaten anyone, just posed some facts and ONE speculation. When you're double dipping your dyck outside your marriage, be very careful it's not some crazy goldigging Arab who just might have a crazy Arab boyfriend. MOTHER, last night I posed the exact same thing. Steve met this goldigger waitressing in a restaurant; she and her boyfriend (whom she'd been with since she was 16!) moved from another town in Tennessee TOGETHER; old girl had been stopped by police two nights before the murder and/or suicide. Old girl, according to the police had bloodshot eyes, yet told the police she was not drunk, but high. WTF? Steve was a passenger in this vehicle, and get this, Steve put her on the vehicle as a co-owner. Anyway, the police did not even give old girl a breatholizer, but they did give her a pass and let her go. WTF! Now, like another poster said, Steve was tired of what had become old puzzy and wanted to move on to the next whore, old girl saw her big pay flying out the window, so she took him and herself out, or, her boyfriend staged the crime scene to look like old girl shot Steve multiple times, then shot herself so that it would look like a murder/suicide. EUR you can 'erase' this post, too, but you can't erase the facts! It really pizzes me off that you removed my post from last evening. Shooting the messenger does not change the facts!

He was still married to Belinda, his 2nd wife. He even took Veronica with him to meet President and Mrs. Marcos. Legend has it that Belinda, who was a martial artist, flew nonstop to the Phillipines, went directly to Ali's hotel and beat his azz, then went back to the airport and flew nonstop back home.

The death of a person and the imprisonment of a person??? WTF?? And the nonsense about the "the Titans knew of this guys whoreish ways...." What did you expect the Titan's to do about that?? Why is it so hard for people to accept that people can be good people in a general sense and still cheat on their spouse?? He could've very well loved his wife very much, but had a lil something on the side. My point is that he was a human being with the same ability/right to have faults. We don't know if he and his wife were having problems. Hell, she probably knew he was doing his thing, as she may have been doing her own thing too. All I know is that a man is dead for a b.s. reason and instead of saying silly sht, I'll ask The Father to comfort the family and friends at this time. McNair was no different than the rest of us. Comment: This was quite a fourth of July wkend, losing Steve McNair in such a tragic manner. You got to be careful when you are dealing with those fatal attraction Bs. I’m pretty sure she went psycho after McNair suggested that they cooled it off, because his biz was about to be out there as a result of the DUI. But I had quite a 4th of July wkend on the EUR myself. It seems that talking about Obama the “wrong” way on the EUR could end up being dangerous for your health also. Called a racist, yt, one person even took issue with my moniker… “if you are indeed Black (and I question the moniker REDS -- is that to set you apart from Black people)” … Wow! I really didn’t see that one coming. But as I said then, folks need to be less stressful on themselves and be thankful that we have a forum on the EUR that is, so far, free of any racist infestation. And believe me, I know what that means. I Remember years ago, like twelve years back, when I used to be on USENET, soc.culture.african.american. Now bear in mind that was not a moderated newsgroup. Well, just like here, we had the same like minded collection of black people, trying to engage each other in dialectic interaction, with one major exception. Every discussion was interrupted with anywhere from subtle to the most overt racism. The internet back then was not as “advanced” as it is today. There were far fewer, if any forums on the web for discussions as we have here, so you really didn’t have much choice outside of USENET. So believe me, I’m really thankful for this forum (and a lot of you need to be also). Actually, that’s where I heard about the EUR, from scaa.

Comment: My condolences to the McNair family. This is almost like losing Michael. Most of us have followed McNair’s career from Alcorn. That’s why folks need to stop stressing over a moniker. But what a long way we have come, from having to deal with racists on a daily basis on scaa, to being worried about the name of another poster. I mean, for real. OK, it’s really just a name. As I told Conrad, who questioned the moniker Reds – “is that to set you apart from Black people?” … If I had given it that much thought then, I guess I would/should have used ‘Blacks’, instead. Not that it should matter, but it doesn’t’ have anything to do with my complexion, or my political leanings. I actually had to explain that during the campaign, when someone was insinuating that Reds had something to do with Republican, as in red state (some a y’all need to switch to Prisonplanet.com). … Basically, around the time when the EUR required posters to register a name, I chose reds, it being one of my favorite colors. Around that time, I also had just got a red car, so I was really in a ‘red’ mood (lol). But seriously, my favorite combination of colors are red, black, and white. Most of my shoes and clothes follow that flavor… Hopefully, no one else out there has given it that much thought, but just in case, without being too exact, since it shouldn’t matter anyway, I’m not as dark as Puffy, but darker than Ja Rule. So there you have me analyzed to a t.

Comment: MelodyCool, I STILL have questions as to why MJ's father pulled off to the side of a dark road to sleep, when everyone in this country knew that any hotel in Atlantic City would have gladly comped him a hotel SUITE overnight because he was MJ's father. Something fishy about that too. I've come to learn that athletes are indeed NOT role models for our kids, from Dr. J, whom I adored as a person who did the right thing, then having his yt daughter conceived outside his marriage to Turqoise, appear in a tennis match some years later. And let us not forget MJ, who had a yt wife and family on the other side of town from his Black wife and children. I've learned to give them their props on the basketball court or football field, but that is where my admiration stops. These kneegrows just keep the stereotype of hot Black bucks alive, by dipping their 'dycks' anywhere but home. And let's not speak on the Lakers who were having orgies (and still might be) with these nasty hoes in the damn, sweaty lockerrooms. I'm told that when Magic announced he was HIV positive, many of the Laker girls cried and prayed they weren't infected. Damn, I read that Arsenio Hall cried, but not because of his concerns about Magic, but about himself. Mo-fos holding Roman-style orgies in a freaking, funky locker room.

McNair have disgraced himself and his famly as well. I do not see how his friend say thta he did not know he was seeing this girl when people say that he frequented the place so often that they thought he stayed there. I have no personal beef with you, but ALL of your posts about Obama are negative. Seems to me you could find something good to say about the man once in a while. And as I posted yesterday, Obama cannot fix the problems of 300 years of wrong done by these former azzhole presidents. We need to stop coming down so hard on our own when he is trying to make a change and perhaps levelling the playing field for all americans, not just yt people. That is going to take some time and we know it can't and won't happen overnight. As far as I'm concerned, the slate has been wiped clean between you and I and this is a new beginning. I will not compromise when blatant wrong has and is being done. I will compromise and offer you an olive branch, because that is important to me. I consider myself a pliable person and can usually see both or all three sides of a coin. I value balance and fair play, despite the fact that the yt powers that be have never been fair and balanced with us non-yt americans. Comment: Truly sick about this..Steve McNair was the "MAN" on the field which is where I grew to love him. The only Quarterback I knew, with probably the exception of Brett Favre, that played the game like a damn warrior. I remember the day he beat the sh*yt out of my Steelers with broken ribs. He played the game indeed..With that said, I need to know why he chose to pick up this mole faced, Iranian looking heifer at a Dave and Buster's? Must have been some good azz service for him to go there with his wife and kids one night, then return to pick up the slutty waitress who waited on them. I'm completely disgusted by it all and quite frankly fed the Phvuck up by men who step out on their wives for what they think is some nookie on the side, then find themselves caught up in some fatal attraction shy*t when you decide you had enough fun with this one. He had no idea who he was phucvking..What if this heifer decided to stalk then kill his wife and kids instead.

Comment: Not too long ago, I was thinking it would be cool if he could come play for the Falcons, replace a Black QB with another one, but it was not to be. I had no idea he had the reputation as clean-cut "family man," but as happens so often, that reputation turns out to have been a farce. Someone on this site the other day was deifying the president about how much of a "family man" he was, and I cautioned them to slow down. Best not to label folks because more times than not, they will disappoint you. That seems to be a big part of why this story has hit some so hard, they thought he was one way ("they" including apparenlty his family), but turns out he was another way. I think the story is tragic, but I'd be remiss to not admit that I've heard more than one person admit that some of the overall tragedy of the situation is tempered because he was such a Dog (not Dawg as in he was a Q, lol) but Dog as in a cheating azzhole who not only had an affair, but appears to have been unashamed by his philandeering ie getting a car in HIS AND THE HOMEWRECKER'S NAME (wtf?), going on vacations and TAKING PICTURES WITH HER (TMZ has pics!), and even having his own apt [probably[ outside of the knowledge of his wife. These details make his story more seedy than sympathetic in some respects. All thoughts and prayers belong to his family. For his soul though? Hmmm, verdict still out on that one. But I digress. PSA: Men with roving eyes, ARE YALL PAYING ATTENTION???

But none of these feelings will cause me to not remember and accept Steve McNair for his good works. He was a man's man on the football field. As a fan of the game, I've long admired for how we played the game as a damn gladiator... the kind of man that other men would follow, block for, protect, and win for. You can't just erase that because he has a lapse in judgment. He wasn't god. And off the field, his leadership in responding to Hurricane Katrina victims is the stuff made of legends. You can't erase that for a lapse in judgment. R.I.P. Air McNair.

Comment: This is one of those "you reap more than you sow" kind of moments. You put bad energy out into the world and sometimes it comes back on you two-fold. The problem in this case as with others is that the "reaping" or karma or whatever you want to call it sometimes punishes the loved ones, the innocent parties. As for the wife, I hope he had a good money situation and a good life insurance policy that pays out double if it's murder and if all of that is the case, Mrs. McNair is bout to get PAID! That may not ease the pain and maybe even the humilation but it can help. That's a f--- you, hubby for every dime she spends. But not to put her down at all, these wives know their husbands step out. They know when they take the marriage vows with an athlete that he is going to cheat. I mean, come on. They all do it. ALL OF THEM. You name me one athlete who doesn't cheat and I'll counter with - he hasn't been caught YET or it hasn't been publicized. All the p---- thrown at them. Come on. It would take Jesus's favorite baby cousin to resist all of that and having the ego of an athlete who feels entitled to all that extra p----, come on. Really. This time, he bit off more than he could chew. You mess with crazy and crazy will get you. Having been harassed by an ex's crazy jump off - I know first hand how crazy can jack up a relationship and a situation period for the man and the innocent parties. I can imagine how bad the wife must feel but I can also say that she may be glad his azz is dead because she probably wants to kill him herself for doing all of this to her. Hell hath no fury applies to the one who gets cheated on as well. Remember that chick who ran over her husband and then backed up and ran over his azz again a few years ago? A wife done wrong. Nuff said.

Comment: This is so very sad. Another black man cut down in his prime over some bullcrap. The real tragedy is that his good works and contributions to the community will be overshadowed by the trifiling way in which he died- all because he couldn't keep it in his pants. Be that as it may, I don't beleive McNair deserved what happened to him. (He deserved an azz-kicking, but not this.) I feel so bad for his family- they lost a husband, father, son, brother and friend. His sons will probably have to fight every day at school, because you know the other kids will tease them. *sigh* When will folks learn that when they make bad decisions, it affects those around them and those who love them? Lord have mercy on his soul.

Comment: I'm not going to call names at the moment, I'm just going to say that I find "some" posters' excuse-making offensive. It is NOT out of line to mention McNair's wrong deeds, as they WERE WHAT LED TO HIS DEATH, ie THE STORY! YES, he was a person with wonderful qualities and deserved some of the accolades he received, BUT it was his affair with a woman other than his wife (he was not divorced and his wife says they weren't separated) that led to his demise. Someone pointing that out is NOT insensitive or vindictive or whatever. FACTS are what they are! Geez. "Some" posters (some of my faves btw, which really sucks!) would do well to admit that and while they ask that people accept the good of McNair, realize that folks can also comment on the not-so-good, which is really the CRUX OF THIS STORY.

You DO reap what you sow. You do. It's a fact of life. There is no "he got what he deserved" in saying that. Does a person deserve to die for adultery? Comment: Conrad, it’s all good. I may have gone too far on my criticism of Obama over the MJ situation, but as someone said, yts have still continued the negativity towards MJ, even in death. All of this taken into consideration, I really didn’t have much patience for anyone not being in Michael’s corner at this time, as Obama seems to have been initially. If anything, this should be a chance for him to stick it to those yts who are still dissing Michael. … As far as me coming down hard on Obama, you will notice that I’m not the one to say Obama should have accomplished this or that already, in terms of things that’s on his agenda of what needs to be done. Like turning around the economy or passing health care reform. I don’t even stress him about those. The stuff which irks me, is when Obama does something that disappoints me, when compared to what he campaigned on. Stuff which Bush did which we all thought would be discontinued under an Obama admin. As we speak, Obama is hesitating on releasing some CIA memo before redacting a bunch of stuff, while he campaigned on transparency. I could go on, but you get my drift. I just want the man to do a complete reversal of Bush, prosecute those criminals and let the country get its name back.

Perhaps the reason she shot him was because he wouldn't kiss her after she sucked that dyck dry! On a more serious note, yt athletes, h.e.l.l. yt men, from my personal experience, cheat just as much as Black men. Now before you get it twisted, I didn't sleep or date a one of these yt mo-fos who tried to holla at me. I even told one yt, executive mo-fo, I don't do yt men. Two hours later he came back and said that was some stupid shyt to say. I countered with it took you two hours to come back with that retort, you pill-popping, needle-dyck mo-fo. Now report me, so I can contact, ABC, CBS, and NBC and tell them about your drug habit and sexual harassment. Mo-fo never bothered me again. And I worked in entertainment law, so mo-fos flying in from the west coast thought I was fair game. I quickly dispelled that illusion. See, yt men seem to choose their hos a bit more carefully (perhaps with the exception of that European basketball player in Texas, who was screwing one crazy yt %*$!( who is now in jail and pregnant with what is supposed to be his baby, and whom he has petitioned the court to have sole custody of said baby), and when the shyt is over, they pay them off or, G-d forbid, with all these missing yt women, have their azzez sleeping with the fishes. I have to wonder if this shyt has been going on to this extent forever, or with the information highway, the dirt is getting out their more quickly. Bottom line is Steve's dyck has allowed his legacy as a great Black quarterback to be eclipsed by a nasty, ugly Arab ho.

Comment: Another thing that few are talking about is the girlfriend's age. I know it's commonplace these days for grown men to be fooling with young girls just out of their teens, but honestly it's just silly. Even the most mature 20 year old is not mature enough to handle grown folks business. A youngster's performance in the sack might be porntastic, but once you have to actually deal with the mentality or a 20 year old, who lacks sufficient life experience to be a true match for a grown man, you understand why a relationship like McNair's was a no-go. A 15 year age difference might be ok if we're talking about a 75 year old and a 60 year old... or perhaps a 60 year old and a 45 year old. But 36 (McNair's age) and a damn 20 year old? Come on maing... who was really being fooled?

Comment: TG..(and some of this will apply to QB)..there will always be varying degrees re: the extent people think one should go in discussing the recently deceased/bereaved. I don't think there is too much negativity about Mike only because there's a 9/1 ratio of his greatness. Some believe otherwise. I was more affected by the coverage of the near "seconds" after Sean Taylor's death when you had noted black journalists and the expected white media intimate what caused his death. In that instance it was way TOO fast for that..only to be proven wrong. That said, I look at QB's "reap what u sow" the same as Taylor. I'm not really a karma person because karma has lil precision and kinda out of sync from christi..well..i don't know about karma. We're taught that when it's ur time to go..u go. Steve's death could be a result of having reach his time..albeit under not so gud circumstances.

Comment: >whynotme - I tend to agree with McNasty but I see what you are saying. All involved should honor the marriage vow. You see a ring on a woman or man's finger and keep moving. If you don't see one, you ask. The married person should honor his/her vows as well, and that's a matter of course. But I think what McNasty is saying is that too many women allow themselves to be jump offs and disrespect other women by being jump offs and that is part of the problem. A jump off IS responsible for adultery just as the married person is. You DO owe that married woman respect just as you owe anyone respect - including yourself. Being someone's back burner chick shows you have absolutely no respect for yourself and it shows that the man has absolutely no respect for you either or he wouldn't have put you in that position. Many times when all is said and done, the man will portray the jump off as a trick, not his lady love. That governor is an exception to that. Apparently he was ga ga in love with her. If that's the case, he should've left/divorced his wife and then gotten with her. By making someone "the other woman" you are disrespecting her as well. I don't think women realize that. If a man doesn't consider you worthy of marriage and keeps you a secret, he is disrespecting you. Period. And that's on the woman. He is disrespecting you as much as he is disrespecting his wife.

Comment: @barnone ---> "but as 4 2 many brothas this nonsense is like clockwork...we know when 2 expect it." <---- Yes, it's almost like clockwork. You can almost feel when it's time for another scandal of this sort. I've always believed more Black men will go down in similar fashion like McNair. One got taken down in the jungles of Brazil and I expect more incidents down there in particular. They're easy prey. A Black millionaire in NJ picked up a drug addicted latina...took her in and cared for her as his woman. She got two of her homeboys to ambush and murder him as he sat in his own car. Just before he died he hit the speed dial to his former girlfriend, and you could hear the latina screaming in the background "kill him!"...all this captured on voicemail. The latina lied and said she wanted them to rob him only. It's to the point most non-Blacks feel Black men are very easy marks for "whitish" azz. And I expect more non-Black men to actually work with their women to set these guys up.

This morning I listened to Peter King (R-NY) talk about how ridiculous it is to cover MJ as a hero when he was a "pedophile, child molester, criminal" as well as other stuff. He had no sympathy..so although I couldn't imagine not feeling something about both these deaths...I realize that people "feel" differently about things. Lastly, I do hope that you poorly paraphased wut u said to your 17-yr old son. As a man and IMO, I would rather FIRST finding out what the investigation concluded because as w/Sean Taylor..u don't know what happened. As a black man, he will know what it "feels" like to have your every motive questioned FIRST then find out the facts but should know when to call a spade a spade. 2 minutes of the 1st quarter? Comment: Such sad news, especially after MJ death. No one know what really happened in that house, I feel sorry for both of them. It may have been the old ex-boyfriend to do this since the guy was found under her. We have to wait until. He was an p standing guy, but the temptation out here today is hard for men and peole can say what they want until it hits home. For him to take his family to the restuarant where she worked is strange...why would he want to do that. That young thing freaked him out, something he wasn't use to and he fell for her and she for him for what it is worth. They have been dating for 5 months and he already bought her a SUV. He had strong feelings for her, she was much to young for him and he told her that he was leavinghis wife and knew he wasn't and even if he did she was way toyoung for him to marry her. You see guys, if you are going to cheap, be straight up from the start and don't be leading these women along, becausenot all will take it. I know some married women will just jump all over this, but its in a man's nature, not that you are not giving him at home, he just want something else, and if it wasn't her, then he would approach another woman and some would be able to deal with his situation but when you start lying from the start, you have trouble on your hands.....

Anyway, REDS and I are cool now, cause I ain't about to lose my intelligent Black friends in a chat room. And since we went off topic already, did you see Rev. Al last night blast the media and speak with that fine-azz Don Lemons on how unfair the press has been to Michael by bringing up so many negatives when Elvis and Sinatra had as many if not more negatives in their lives, but the yt media gave them a pass. How, when Elvis died, they omitted all shyt and drugs he'd been doing for Lord knows, how many years, even when he had Priscilla living at his complex in Tennessee when she was only 14? Or how they gave Frank Sinatra, a wannabe mafiosa, and the main one to make sure Sammy got sloppy sixths on the yt hos they passed around like a joint, including that drug addict Peggy Lipton that Quincy Jones married). Elvis and Sinatra were okay, but Michael was the MAN and it's going to take me a long time to get over his passing, despite the fact that I am conflicted that Michael went to such uber extremes to change the beautiful Black skin he was born in.

To all the sisters on this board, I understand that we have been through this scenario far too many times and we are tired. Maybe it was her but until further investigations prove differently, I do believe her crazy azz Arab boyfriend did it.

As far as as the Steve McNair stuation, it's really hard for me to believe that she shot him like that. Didn't they find the gun underneath her? Was she shot on the head? I'm no CSI person, but when you shoot yourself in the temple, doesn't the gun go away from you? But I'm sure when they finish the autopsy on her, I will know more. Again, congrats on your son. That is wonderful.

I was saying how this seems to be a new breed of dog these days. They have NO shame! BLATANT disrespect of their wives and families. It's mindboggling to me. Those in Atlanta know a few years ago, the convicted former mayor Bill Campbell was seemingly PROUD of his homewrecker, took her around the world on vacations, TOOK PICTURES (just like this McNair guy), the whole nine. Didn't back in the day it was considered WRONG to have a mistress and dogs tried to hide their homewreckers? lol But now, you look here at this McNair thing and then that bizarro SC governor giving public interviews calling his mistress his "soulmate" and admitting to other affairs, unabashedly humiliating is wife and kids. smh I just don't get this newfound blatant disrespect. I mean, it's almost hostile, like the INTENTION is to humiliate the fam. Just wow.

Comment: TGen, I'm in Atlanta and years ago when Campbell was mayor, an acquaintance of mine who was married to an ex-Atlanta cop told me how her ex-husband told her they were regularly called to the mayor's mansion because Bill used to beat the shyt out of his wife. However, the police would QUASH it, not even making a report because he was mayor. I believe it because everytime I'd see that woman she looked like she had been beaten down. Thank goodness, for the last 8 years, Shirley has kept that position drama-free. Now that mental midget of a DA in Fulton County wants to run for mayor, and I'm fighting it with everything in my being. Atlanta is in enough trouble, economically and corruption-wise and we don't need that fool pushing it over the edge!

"Even CLINTON had the 'decency' to LIE!" lol He was not out there blatantly philandeering and he didn't give interviews disrespecting his wife. Yes he was a dog, but at least he showed discrestion, well er um, if you consider getting a bj in the Oval Office discreet (which it is if your pudgy little mistress keeps her trap shut, lol), but you get my point. Even the doggiest dogs AT LEAST showed some modicum of respect for the family THEY created. But nowadays, it seems different. I'm just tripping that married men actually take pictures (ie create a RECORD) with their side pieces? In what world is that okay? Is it different now or does it just seem that way? I don't remember that kind of bold cheating in years past.

Comment: "....maybe she shot herself in the head and then stuck the gun under herself." I don't think so, because she would have fallen immediately and perhaps the gun fell and she fell on top of it. Though from the murder mysteries I've read and watched, the gun is usually in the hands of the suicide victim or at the side on which the bullet entered. Still it is possible. "maybe the friend did it, he did find them and then called another guy who called the police.....why didn't he call them when he found them? this situation is just weird." I agree with you there. I had to go back and read that part a second time, because I would've run out the house screaming like a bytch had I been the one who found them. Calling another party before the police is just strange to me. Yet, maybe that is how he handles things. I'm really not a conspiracy theorist, but maybe the first guy who found them had beef with Steve and it escalated into Steve being shot multiple times. Given that scenario, the girl would have been shot because she would have been able to identify the shooter. I do believe that if a third party killed Steve and the skank, be it her boyfriend or Steve's roommate (that's strange too, to my way of thinking), it will come out, because people really cannot keep secrets!

Her - "But you told me we'd get married!" Him - "Well, I'm not and you need to stop all that." Her - "You're not going to do that to me!" Him - "Whatever. You need to stop all that sh*t before I put your azz out and take my d*mned sh*t back! You need to stop trippin! I'm not leaving my wife for yo silly azz!" She leaves the room and he thinks it's over. Her - (comes back in the room w/the gun, points gun at him) "You're not doing this to me! You're not just gonna drop me like I'm garbage!" Him - "Put the muthaf*ckin' gun down! You ain't gonna shoot nobody!" Her - "I will! I'll do it!" Him - "Gimme the GD gun!" Her - "No!" (shoots him). He's shocked she actually did it for the split second it takes him to register that she really did it and then he dies from the fatal wound to the head. She's distraught having just killed the man she wanted to marry, puts the gun to her head and kills herself. Can y'all see that with me?...

Because his story and his behavior just doesn’t seem normal. … McNair was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest, so didn’t he noticed that initially, before he walked into the kitchen. There got to be visible blood stains on McNair. …Then he went and called a friend. I don’t know what or why, but this guy is definitely hiding something.

Comment: Queenie,TGen, Kev didn't so much say it exactly, but intimated it in one of his posts about women's "independence." What I agree with is that people, in general these days, seem to be more "independent." We don't know how to deal with each other. Many folks would rather text you (on even serious matters) than come to you in person. Any adult man in the dating scene has to deal with getting past the whole "I'm an independent woman, I don't need a man" routine that is commonplace on the tongues of many of your sisteren. Men, too, are growing more selfish. Many men of means (believing they 'know the deal') willingly sleep with and impregnate women women who said men know deep down are in it just for the check. They view paying support as the entry price for the whirl in the hay. I agree with Keve from the standpoint of a sideline observer... that men and women are INCREASINGLY and selfishly "independent." And that infidelity is yet another aspect of us expressing our "independence." Got me?

Comment: Hmm, Exmun, I guess I understand your "independence leads to cheating" meme Exmun, but I don't know if I agree. Personally, I think even before the "indpendent woman movement," men cheated just as readily. As I stated up top, my issue is that it seems to be a lot more blatant and disrespectful, esp as it relates to public figures who play with fire KNOWING they can find themselves on the Internet with a compromising photo of a sidepiece or whatever. The 'shame' factor seems to be missing, as if the culture has become desensitized to adultery, which is really heartbreaking. So to clarify, you and Kevobox12's suggestion does not hold water in my opinion. Men cheated on their dependent wives as much as they've cheated on their independent ones, lol. That is my contention.

I would have backed out the front door if confronted with such a ghastly scenario, and would never have ventured all the way to the kitchen area. Understanding the situation, I believe he was more interested in damage control at that point. This reminds me of a Korean family in my area finding their daughter and her lover naked and dead in a parked car. It was very hot so the lovers got the bright idea to go into the garage, turn on the a/c in car and commence to doing their business. Comment: The gun recovered at the scene of the deaths of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi was purchased by Kazemi recently, Metro police have confirmed.
Kazemi, 20, died Saturday of a single gunshot to the head alongside former Titans quarterback McNair, who had two gunshots to the head and two to the chest. The gun was found under Kazemi’s body.
“We believe the pistol recovered from the apartment was purchased by Kazemi,” Metro spokesman Don Aaron said.
Police said the possibility of a murder-suicide is still on the table, but there are several other theories of the crime still possible.
Kazemi’s ex-boyfriend, Keith Norfleet, was questioned for several hours by police yesterday. Aaron said he is not a suspect, and there are still no suspects being actively pursued.
“He was cooperative during questioning, then he went on his way,” Aaron said.
Norfleet told The Tennessean on Saturday that he went to police headquarters on his own Saturday, looking for answers on whether the woman he broke up with five months prior was the one who died alongside McNair. He was not questioned that night, but asked to leave his contact information, Aaron said.
“We know Norfleet was a former boyfriend of Kazemi’s, and he obviously had his opinion of the relationship between she and McNair,” Aaron said. “He was a person who needed to be interviewed in detail.”
Aaron said the testing to see if gunshot residue was present on Kazemi’s hands has not yet been completed.
Federal law prohibits anyone under 21 from purchasing a handgun from a licensed dealer.
Kazemi did not have a carry permit; Tennessee requires a person to be 21 to have carry permit.

They're like teenagers who never think they'll die in a drunk or wreckless driving acccident. It is not for a 36 year old grown azz man, or an even older one like Sanford. But I gather what Exmun is saying is what comes along with the women's more independent attitudes are men who believe their "strong" women can handle their philandeering, or maybe not even care if they cheat, or men who will applaud their indpendent women on one hand but keep a dependent one at bay, so the side piece can fulfill his ego needs. I won't disagree with that, though I think it's sad, that women aren't allowed to take care of self without being mistreated or misunderstood by their significant others. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. *sigh*

Comment: MelodyCool, your kneejerk reaction is proof positive of basically everything that I'm saying. We (men and women) do need each other, and our acknowledging this fact at least gets us to the place where we can actually deal with the truth. If I, a man, was greeted with the object of my affection saying every day that she can do the damn thing by herself, I would let her do it.... by herself. I'm not saying that the woman's attitude is the reason for a man cheating. But what I am saying is that IF we want in tact relationships and families we've got to acknowledge that we (both genders) NEED each other. I NEED a woman who builds me up lovingly, even when I'm not at my best and vice versa. But if we're too busy saying things like "any woman had better be "independent" else she's shyt outta luck..." there ain't gonna be any getting together... at least in permant relationships.

Comment: Whynot you read no where in any of the posts that I've ever made where I excuse anyone's behavior.
What you have read is that I believe women have given all their power away to keep a no good as.s man or to get one. Even at 20 her stop sign should have been the fact that he still shared a residence with his wife. NO he shouldn't have been trolling and if she'd said no and stuck to it they both would still be alive. Say what you will or may but don't mis read my post and keep coming back with the bullshyt about what he knew or did. They both fukked up - by him putting her in his condo and putting her as a co signature on the truck she believed he would get a divorce. He on the other hand should have checked out what her real state of mind was before he stretched out like that.
Don't blame the whole ball of wax on the man - I said it before and will keep on saying it - NOTHING happens when she says NO!

And I've been through so serious hellish situations with men but I still believe that. I'm sure there are men on this board who treat their wives/SOs well and all of this mess doesn't reflect on them at all. I have friends who are happy as pie with their husbands and I know it can happen for me, too. I just need to wait for him, is all. All men aren't damaged like the men we are speaking of just as all women aren't either. And there are men who appreciate and respect their wives for taking care of business and having their own lives. I do not like to use the term "independent" because it has such a negative connotation in this type of discussion. It is okay for a woman to have her own life, friends, career as long as she doesn't go so far in the other direction that her man doesn't feel needed or wanted. It is possible.

It doesn't matter if he gives you a deadly disease or makes a child with another women...just take it for the privilege of being able to say "my huband..." I feel that Black men in particular want to feel as if they, too, can treat women with impunity as men do in other parts of the world. For the life of me, I do not understand why they won't remain bachelors or completely unattached...just play the field. I guess it's not as exciting unless you're cheating tho???

If we 'want' to work it out, we approach things a bit differently. If we both want to be talking wrong and strong, we get what we get.

Comment: No Queenie, I did NOT paint that picture. I HAVE a "good" man, so I'm well aware that there are plenty good ones out there. I've never been one to limit God re "There are no good men" because I know words are powerful, and I've always cautioned my friends and peers on that as well. I know that God is a God of abundance, so that "there's not enough" talk never flew with me. My post was my attempt to translate what EXMUN painted as a possible explanation for the more blatant cheating we've been witnessing the past few years. Please re-read my post.

Comment: Exmun I get what you're saying - when women wanted the same sexual freedom they allowed from some of the men they dealt with turning into a jump off was just the next natural step. Its not acceptable behavior for a man to cheat on his wife and no men aren't wired so differently they don't know how to be monogamous - that's just bullshyt! When women stop accepting bad behavior from men and stop taking them back after they've cheated - we'd vastly reduce the number of dogs we created. Yeah, I said we, meaning any woman that continually takes back a man knowing he's just gonna do it again.
Until there are real consequences he has no reason to change.

You are so right in your azzessment of how some men (too many men, esp those of higher profile who know their wives don't want risk being publicly humiliated) expect their wives to just accept their bullcrap with no ruffling of feathers. It's among the worst forms of emotional abuse. I think of that basta*rd SC governor when I think of that, how he almost dared his wife to leave him, blatantly telling the world "she's not enough for me," and expecting her to accept it, daring her not to. The audacity of it all is mindboggling. Truly...

So I just do not understand his wife. She has no excuse for remainig in that marriage. I had an ex who tried desperately to train me to accept his "friend". The idea of it turned me completely off and I lost all feelings for him...thank GD! I can now be platonic friends with him cause there's no residual love lurking around. Once I shut down, he couldn't understand how I could laugh and talk to him so he kept trying to rekindle things. I learnt my lesson for the last time and there was no going back. Even his mama tried to reel me back in until I told her a few choice things that he had done.

IMO, dependence is just as much of a turn off (typically over time) as an overabundance of "independence" is (typically more instant) to a man... at least men that I know. And honestly, sometimes I just don't get why I 'try.' If you'll read my post above, praising the way that Queenie went about saying what she said, you'd understand precisely that I AM saying that there is an in between and that we're not talking about dependent (clueless) women versus machoesque independent women. But instead you 'choose' to focus on a woman giving up all her power to a man. SMH.

Comment: Sahel Kazemi bought gun found at McNair crime scene, police say By Kate Howard • THE TENNESSEAN • July 6, 2009 The gun recovered at the scene of the deaths of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi was purchased by Kazemi recently, Metro police have confirmed. “He was a person who needed to be interviewed in detail.” Aaron said the testing to see if gunshot residue was present on Kazemi’s hands has not yet been completed. Federal law prohibits anyone under 21 from purchasing a handgun from a licensed dealer. Kazemi did not have a carry permit; Tennessee requires a person to be 21 to have carry permit.

You know what he told me?? "My wife obviously doesn't love me because she's not upset by what I do". This is another example of...d.amned if you do and d.amned if you don't. I don't know what their relationship was like but as his wife shes got to live with the way he died, knowing what he did and then being killed by the hands of another woman who happens to be of another race and many years younger. Plus, she'll be the one making or a least overseeing the arrangements to bury McNair after all of this. Tragic. And its killing me that the woman who shot McNair is being painted as an innocent young woman believing him to get a divorce and marry her. Puleaze! I saw pictures over the weekend of her on Mediatakeout. She was a skank who got lucky enough to get hooked up with somebody that could do something for her. Dave and Busters don't cut it as far as earnings go. Plus, purchasing a gun days before killing someone seems premeditated to me.

Her whole world is shattered." …“McNair was also seen so often at Kazemi's apartment that a neighbor thought he lived there.” … So what do you think he was doing with his time? Look how Jayson Williams told his Black wife he sucks white girls' twats. What was that all about? I simply believe that Black men feel they are precious commodities and Black women had better be ready to roll with anything to have one of them around. That's a natural turn-off in and of itself to me at least.

He was constantly telling me all that he provided for her (a latina with 5 kids...3 different dads)and tried to act as if it was a bother at times. He'd routinely bring her name up at the oddest moments as if he wanted her fixated in my mind. He wanted me to worry and wonder about the true nature of their relationship. When I'd let it pass trying to give him the benefit of the doubt...he'd repeat the process. Once I dropped him, he never invoked her name during conversations and would fall silent anytime I mentioned it. He knew that strategy backfired...bigtime.

Comment: Sad day for the McNair family but it is POSSIBLE he would still be alive had the Nashville PO followed the law. On that thursday when "she" got arrested for DUI McNair SHOULD have been arrested as well, for the vehicle was co-registered in both their names, making McNair liable (TN law); however, the cops let McNair go home in a taxi while they kept the girl. Had he been arrested, he would've had to face public scrutiny again (it would've been his 2nd DUI I believe), but I think he would still be ALIVE.

Comment: Dean32, I know it's sounds weird, but McNair would have been legally liable because he co-registered the SUV with the girl, and was IN THE SUV. It has happened to him before; someone was driving one of his vehicles while he was in it; the driver was stopped, took a test, and was over the BA limit. McNair was also arrested that night, because it was his car & he was IN IT.
