Comment: May you rest in peace Michael Jackson. Thank you for the Legacy that you left for the World to enjoy. BTW...never believed the lies that the hater's said. And the melody still lingers on and on.

Name: Janissi
Comment: Very well said, soulmusic101. Mike, I still can't believe you are gone. I know today we will remember such great memories that you brought millions around the world. We love you! Farewell.

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: I CAN'T SAY GOODBYE. I'll never understand this day. Long as I live, so will Michael. I loved and respected his genius. I reveled in it. He brought me joy and made me so proud. He threw the earth and the world off it's axis. That's how I roll and what I always understood and appreciated. I can't and won't say goodbye. As long as I ever live, so will he. Michael Joe Jackson set this world on straight up FIRE while he was here. And for the next millennium, into infinity. He will always shine. He put it down so hard, it will never be able to get up again. It's not a mark he left, he stomped the world with his God gift. That can't be touched. I salute you son, always have, always will. You'll never leave me. I know the world's greatest.

Comment: May God's peace let your soul finally rest Michael. I will remember the Michael Jackson we in the black community grew to love before Motown 25 and before the leeches got to him to help make his life one lonely and sad existance. I never believed Michael hurt any child in anyway and I do believe the ones that made false claims for money will have to answer to God. I hope Mrs.Katherine Jackson will hold up through the loss of her precious son. I was upset with Michael when he started altering his looks not realizing how joe jackson made him feel about his looks, another thing I don't understand. Michael was a gorgeous little boy and an attractive young man before all the alterations to his nose and skin. I will miss Michale and what could have been.My regret is never meeting him which I could have done years ago.

Comment: im just glad justine timber-fake aint invited after claiming to be a michael deciple and then turning around an selling janet down the river. she dont even speak to his bytch azz anymore.

Comment: Well, I better go get my exercise on early cause I know what I'll be doing the rest of the day, today. Man, I still find it hard to acknowledge that he is not among the physical anymore...although make no mistake, he his reveling int the love that we are giving. Mothership, don't worry sis, his stamp was indelible in his legacy left behind. Truly this man was gifted. Ad Jermaine said, never took a singing lesson, never took a dance lesson...just felt it and gave it to us...

Comment: FUC FUC FUC!!! they just said justine timber-fake will be in attendence,,,why why why...

Comment: RIP, Michael. This should be a nice send-off for the King of Pop. Speaking of King, Peter King will pay dearly for his assinine comments. We won't forget them.

Comment: Justin Timberlake is gonna be there. Either Janet and the rest of the family let that incident go, or AEG is having him there. I would rather have Justin than that annoying aS$ Miley Cyrus. (LOL)

Comment: Here is an article that I hope everyone can read, when they have a chance. The Media played up the false accusations because, well Sex and Lies sell. And so what it may destroy this Man's heart, reputation, hard work, and career ....Money is more important.

Comment: Do MJ proud yall! I hope all the performers bring it. I sooo wish I could see the ceremony! I'll catch some of it during lunch by I wish I could see it all. I so disagree with some in the msm (Morning Joe crew) who complain that there's too much coverage. This is one time in which I think the wall-to-wall coverage is warranted. There will NEVER be another like MJ, never. That said, seems that a lot of "folks" (read racist blowhards) don't get that. I turned to Bill O'Reilly's show for a quick second yesterday (WHY DID I DO THAT??? lol) and caught his hate-filled quips about MJ, speaking of him as if he was the lowest scum on earth. I turned the channel eventually, but it looks like I wasn't the only one taken aback by the disrespect he poured on the deceased. Huffpost caught it apparently: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/06/gretchen-carl son-michael_n_226707.html. The tone he used reminds you of the hate-filled tirade that Congressman, Rep Peter King gave the other day calling MJ everything but a child of God. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/06/michael-jacks on-fans-rais_n_226532.html *sigh* RIP MJ--in spite of the racist haters.

Comment: TGen, I turn the channel when the news starts reporting their hate. That Sentor has crap in his background dealing with IRAN, so he needs to give up trying to get 15 minutes of fame. HATERS!!!!!!!!

Comment: Faretheewell my Brotha. The angels had the "Man in Mirror" all along. The journey was well worth it Michael..You gave us all you had and oh how we are so much better for it. WE are the ones with the lasting memories. Naysayers knew so very little of you; WE had you! Though I "Never can say Goodbye" and "I want you back", I am glad the most high has embraced you and taken you aflight. You were one "Bad" azz "Dancing machine", my "Rockin Robin"! Comment: aaaaaww man, I'm gonna cry. The Harlem Gospel Choir just did 'Will you be there' on GMA...one of my all time MJ favorites.

Name: olskool4life
Comment: As it has been stated many times before, there has not nor will there EVER be the likes/talent of Michael Jackson (in my lifetime) EVER AGAIN !! In my eyes, Michael was already B-I-G with Off the Wall !! After Thriller he reached and SURPASSED the mountain top. What point was it to go ANY higher? No one could touch you, Michael !! You could had set sailed to a deserted island and no one, and I mean NO ONE, could/would take your place as NUMBER ONE!! Now, here we are on July 7th, 2009 laying you to rest. Man, I just can't BELIEVE this ??!! I was sooooo ready & waiting to see you AND YOUR BROTHERS re-unite on stage. Now I (and many of your fans) will have to reminise (sp?) by viewing old videos (Thanks YOUTUBE)

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: ...Did any of ya'll really THINK Timberlake wasn't gonna be there?...I just hope Latoya doesn't get up there and tryna sing...I'm glad Steveland's gonna do something but please somebody bettah be on hand to pull his azz away...*have the wrap it up music on cue...Imma try and watch some of it...I would be cool for Boys II Men to sing: It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday...They ain't gonna have animals parading are they?...I really would have liked to get one of those tickets...Yes, I woulda sold those muthfuccers...I read the asking price on EBay was 150 large a pop...Sh1t, I got the CD's, I'll be OK...

Name: Lorraine315
Comment: lol BOOT, I say LaToya SHOULD go up there and try to sing- thats her brother. I'm more worried about Joe sitting on the sidelines trying sell MJ t-shirts and signing folks to his record label. Love Ya MIchael! RIP

Name: Lorraine315
Comment: Oh yeah another thing BOOT you mentioned animals well here ya go- LOL elephants will be marching in town hours before the service is to begin: Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey starts a run at Staples Center on Wednesday, a booking long planned in advance. In the pre-dawn hours before Jackson's memorial, the elephants will walk from the train station to the arena.

Name: goldengirl2
Comment: Love ya Michael, Thanks for the incredible musical legacy you left the world. Rest in Peace- Job Well Done.

Name: olskool4life
Comment: With Michael's unreleased material he may very well become #1 again and be awarded posthumously.

Name: JustTellingTheTruth
Comment: LOL @ Lorraine & BOOT's comments! BOOT-- The circus animals are being kept in a barn. They won't be apart of the memorial. And, if you had sold your tickets to the memorial, you would've been faced with fines and jail time. Folks look forward to you being out here clowning every day, so selling the tickets wouldn't have been worth it.

Name: njmd
Comment: Micheal Jackson....thank you. You were loved. You walk past people in this life and dont tell them how much you were appreciated. He is the end of an era..where a person was their music. You are your music and we thank you for letting us share it. Peace and blessings...Peace finally and always

Comment: BREAKING NEWS: L.A. police chief says Michael Jackson casket to go to Staples Center for memorial

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: TGen...After reading the article it makes you really feel the injustice and how the Media ignored the evidence or at least another point of view. When you listen to the track's "Scream", "Money", and "Tabloid Junkie" they may have a different meaning. All tracks written for the "History" CD, the CD made after the trial. Mike didn't do it....I am a Man but my heart is heavy for what M.J. had to go thru.

Name: MzTee
Comment: The memorial really brings this home to me...MJ is being laid to rest. I know everyone has to die, but this was so unexpected. I refuse to watch the hatemongers. They don't want to acknowledge the impact a BLACK man had on the world. The CREATOR blessed MJ with a gift anylike any other and nothing they can say or do will ever change that. He's been called back home to assume his rightful place as one of the CREATOR's angels...RIP Michael Joseph Jackson.

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: TGen...if you google Jackson, Memorial, and Video you will be able to see the video when you get home.

Comment: MOTHERSHIP that was so heartfelt tht my tears starting rising up again..I am crying because of the lost but how they (the media, the racists, etc.)won't leave him alone..since his passing they have attacked him more..It seem like there is no justice for my people, we always got to prove ourselves...*sigh*

Name: 1VAsweetsexy
Comment: I LOVE YOU ALL UP HERE TODAY..(crying) we are all we got..we all up here understand..Our brotha is gone and the media won't leave him alone!! (crying) you are right soulmusic101- and they wouldn't even listen with reason just more and more hate..And that hateful Senator Peter King sd he heard frm his Republican base that they are tried of hearing about MJ..Senator King sd he also made a YouTube video about some of the other government policies but no one cares to hear that..but now that he has said something about MJ- he gets heard..Yeah, perk like the other Rethugs you talk nonsense and cause noone is listening you and the rest of your Klan start shouting HATE!!!

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: Wow MOTHERSHIP, all I can do is cosign your post. You said it best. RIP Michael. Thank you for your gift of music.

Name: 1VAsweetsexy
Comment: And I was thinking..the pain of the lost wouldn't hurt as bad if the media wouldn't be so nasty and mean-spirited..I keep saying if this was Elvis, Frank Sintara even whn Ronald Reagan died -I don't recall reading any bad press..this country's race relations will nver mend..Even with my man in office - race relations to me have worsen or at least stayed the same

Name: jlove
Comment: I hope MJJ is at peace now. Part of will never forget some of the great music he contribute. The other part of me will not forget how he barely wanted anything to do with his people of color & trying to "ERASE" his ethnicity! His music will live on forever though.....

Comment: Support for MJ based more on politics (racism) than race. … For people who considered themselves Michael Jackson fans, 73% were minorities and 42% whites, 63% were Democrats but only 35% Republicans. But when the political support was broken down by race, 58% of white Democrats, but only 34% of white Republicans considered themselves Jackson fans. … So the racist Republicans just don’t like Michael. No wonder a Republican congressman called him a pervert, even though he was never convicted and there was no real evidence, just the word of his accusers.

Comment: I'm watching a live-stream of the procession as it arrived at the chapel and I saw Ms. Katherine and the children go in.

Name: TGen
Comment: Okay, I must be a glutton for punishment. I decided to go to each major news website and see how they decided to cover MJ. Cnn-check. MSNBC--check. ABCnews--check. WHY DID I GO TO FOX NEWS AND SEE THIS HEADLINE? "Family of U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan on the same day Michael Jackson died decry the King of Pop's wall-to-wall coverage in the media." Yep, looks like FauxNews went there, decided to be the sour apple and throw the rednecks a bone. *sigh* P.S. Unrelated, Reds, are you still in here? I have a question for you regarding Joe Biden.

Comment: My co-worker was one of the fortunate to get tickets to the memorial. I hope she brings in the program tomorrow so I can make a copy.

Comment: goodnplenty1957> I hope they don't act that way. This is a funeral service. I hope everyone keep their composure and see the bigger picture. This is to say goodbye to Michael Jackson.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: Reds> Where did you get the percentage breakdown? There has never been a survey nor a questionnaire when you purchase an Michael Jackson eight track, album, c%*$ette, cd,dvd or mp3 download. I'm the only black person at my job and there are only two democrats and a total of 65 employees but we have Michael Jackson music in common. The oldest employee is white, 71 year old female who told me that she remembers when it was Jackson Four. She also said that she for the first time tuned into BET because it was advertised that they would do a Michael Jackson Tribute, but was turned off by Jamie Foxx beat it routine and the profanity. Who knew that I would share a music interest with a 71 year old white female. Music is awesome! Long live THE KING Of POP!!

Name: Janissi
Comment: Hi EUR family! I just woke up (I've been recording all the coverage today) and turned on the TV only to see Mike's casket being rolled out. My heart just sunk. Man, he's really gone! What really comforts me is that we will always have Mike with us via his music, videos, pictures (boy I wish I still had those posters from the early years), etc. Fluck the haters because those who love him will always trump them!

Comment: I have read and heard many people's opinion regarding Diana Ross an MJ. Many people want to hold Diana culpable, some kind of way. But, curiously, I haven't heard anyone say anything about his very curious relationship with Elizabeth Taylor. Liz introduced MJ to happy dope. She connected him with a dermatologist which she herself had been using, to get him the dope. I wonder why she and her relationship with MJ aren't vilified the way his relationship with Diana is.

Comment: JamerDelta, we're all here together, hun. We'll hold it together, okay. Huey, I'm out of the loop. Was Tre Songz the one who just sung that horrid version of, "I'll be There?" I remember Mariah's performance on MTV "Unplugged" and she sounded much better then. No offense to Mariah, but...

Comment: Thanks, Janissi...you're right, Mariah didn't sound too hot, but Lionel was good.

Comment: I think none of the performers will be without emotion and it will come through in their singing. It's an overwhelming mourning experience. Very well done - classy respectful and very much a tribute.

Name: 1VAsweetsexy
Comment: That should be when Lionel starting singing

Name: TGen
Comment: I saw a glimpse a few moments ago when it was starting and the brothers carried out the casket. Jermaine bent down and kissed the casket of his baby brother. WHY DID HE HAVE TO GO AND DO THAT? lol That was ALL I needed--and before I knew it, the tears came. Aaah! I can't believe I cried, lol. smh I had to leave the TV and go back to work, but I'm sure I'll lose it when I get home and watch the repeat in full. Btw, I also caught Mariah Carey and Trey Songz perfomorming. Mariah has lost her talent, I don't think it was an A+ performance, she does not have the voice she once did. What a shame. But I guess for today, it doesn't matter, it's the thought that counts and just being there is a big deal. So kudos to her and Trey Songz.

Comment: Pop superstar Michael Jackson has confirmed his conversion to Islam, according to reports in the Middle East. The Arab-Israeli newspaper Panorama claims Jackson has announced the move and revealed plans to move to Bahrain, where he has purchased property. The singer’s Muslim brother Jermaine Friday claimed the “Thriller” hitmaker had taken interest in the religion since Jermaine converted in 1989, and had been considering converting following his acquittal on child abuse charges in 2005. Jermaine said, “When I came back from Mecca I got him a lot of books and he asked me lots of things about my religion and I told him that it’s peaceful and beautiful. See Also Michael Jackson is building a mosque“He read everything and he was proud of me that I found something that would give me inner strength and peace. “I think it is most probable that Michael will convert to Islam. “He could do so much, just like I am trying to do. Comment: kevobx12..that is another tabloid that is distorted- because isn't that media format (Arab-Israeli)interpreted incorrectly sometimes-that is why Obama went straight to there Arab TV channel to address the Arab world for his first press conference..I am going by info frm what the MLK children were saying and frm what Mama Jackson sd she didn't want a secular memorial but a spiritual one..You could be right as well though - who knows only GOD ALMIGHTY

Comment: Great service. Here we go with Fox and thier hate, talking about who's gonna pay for the service, the custody situation, the ongoing medical investigation, the MJ coverage getting more news than Iraq, etc. F--K them! Al Sharpton came with it today, great performances by all and I "nearly" lost itwhen Paris Jackson spoke.. I can remember back in 1990 when CNN carried Sammy Davis Jr's memorial service. What does that tell you about these 2 brothers who broke down barriers and was loved by millions worldwide. You're damn right the coverage was necessary.

Comment: When Paris spoke stating that Daddy was the best Daddy in the world and how much she loved him, that's when I lost it. It broke my heart. Michael, despite all the bullsyht in your later life, you've made us and the majority of the world proud. Thank you for the music you left us. Perhaps one day your music will help to heal the world. Rest in peace and love now, 'cause I know G-d done craddled you in his arms and told you how much he loves you!

Comment: Hey, y'all, can I share a personal story with you concerning Michael Jackson? All of my life, some members of my family saw me as their cash cow. Not only that but they make fun of me and call me all kinds of negative names which somehow got back to me. Can you imagine how alone I felt, when no one called to ask me how I felt, but that they needed money? My pain was great and my anger was huge, yet I sent the money, just in case! Then Michael sang "You Are Not Alone" and I took it as my personal anthem, and knew that I was indeed, not alone, and I knew, despite the pains I've suffered, that G-d will be there with and for me, and I was not alone. I hold on to that thought every day of my life. Michael spoke the words handed down to him from G-d, and I hold on to the fact that everyday, despite EVERYTHING else that happens in my life, I am not alone. Thank you, Michael, thank you so much for being able to put into words that, whenever everyone else turns on me, G-d will not forsake me. I am not alone, and neither are you, Michael!

Comment: The Service was beautiful!!! I had tears from the beginning to the end. I wasn't too into Michael towards the end of his career, but looking back on and reflecting on all his early music made me realize how much of a genius he really was. I will be listening to Michael's music more and more now, and I know the tears will be many. I love you Michael..you were a big part of my growning up. We are the same age. You were definitely a light in this dark world. You cared about humanity and gave not only of your time, money, music, but shared your loved also. You will be missed dearly....The world has lost a bright star. MsWhitt
