Comment: Hmm, hmm, hmm. Little did anyone know, they'd both be dead two days later. I wonder why he let her drive under the influence.

Comment: Was pretty much consumed by M.J. but what a way to leave this earth. RIP Steve McNair....

Name: Sactown
Comment: My prayers go out the family. I was taking notice of something that happen on ESPN during a sportscenter broadcast. They had just finish showing video of Steve's funeral where Eddie George and his coach talked about their love for steve. It wasn't even 2 minutes after that when ESPN ran a commercial for "Buster and Dave's". I felt that was insensitive, since that's where Steve met the woman that killed him. WTF SMDH

Comment: McNair’s 911 tape …Tennessee state officials say they had been preparing a youth suicide prevention public service announcement featuring former NFL quarterback Steve McNair before he was shot and killed last week: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9787660/McNair-tape d-suicide-prevention-PSA-before-death?gt1=39002 … The psycho’s arrest video: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/22825103/vp/31829769#318 29769

Comment: They aired his memorial service live on tv last night in Nashville. They pre empted Big Brother 9 and CSI. My sister was in the choir singing. I found Ms Smith's comments distasteful. She was mad because it was closed casket. She didn't get her show. She apparently arrived so that she could see how they put his head back together, not to pay her respects. He dumb azz allowed herself to be quoted saying that ish.

Comment: Janissi: “I wonder why he let her drive under the influence.” … Because he was more fvcked up than she was. Why would he have to take a cab home, when he had a car right there that was registered in his name?

Name: JustTellingTheTruth
Comment: Reds & Jannissi...aside from that...he occassionally drove under the influence, so why would he have a problem with her actions? He felt right at home with the situation.

Name: JustTellingTheTruth
Comment: Dave & Busters PAID for the air time to have their commercials ran on ESPN and any other network that's running their commercials. Business is business, a contractual agreement is a contractual agreement. Steve McNair's personal life i.e. him choosing to cheat on his wife & sons with the minimum wage waitress @ D&B is NOT their problem! I guess next someone will say the McNair Family should sue D&B because they are indirectly responsible for Steve's murder.

Comment: I'm glad that they didn't have an open casket...I attended a funeral of a friend who shot himself in the head and his parents had an open casket...it was not a pretty picture and not how I wanted to remember him...that image is still ingrained in my brain and that was 20 years ago

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: Wow... sometimes the entitlement of the fans is sickening. >>> “I wanted to view him — I didn’t want to view a casket. I think everybody expected to see him,” said Smith, who stopped by before going to work at the U.S. Postal Service.<<< What kinda mess is that? SOOOO DISRESPECTFUL to the family. So goes the ordeals of public figures (e.g., entertainers, athletes, politicians) and their families when they wish they could have their private time.

Name: CRENEEJ
Comment: i watched it too, and was glad it was a closed casket. it's nobody's business what he looks like now. people really need to get over themselves.

Name: TJthemilitant
Comment: Imagine what his wife had to see when she identified the body!!!There's not too much an undertaker can do to put someone back together. One of my brother's fraternity brothers was killed on a motorcyle; why they had an open casket was beyond me..it was horrible!

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: There's no way he should have been on open display in open casket for the masses. I hope his mother, wife and sons are getting all the support they deserve.

Name: Gurlfrand
Comment: I would never have an open casket for myself - I don't want people to remember me that way from the final time they would see me - they can have a big picture of me up there on a stand, but, no open caskets - that always made me so nausius when I would go to a funeral - every one is different, I guess.

Comment: I watched the service yesterday. That choir was off the chain, and so was Bishop Walker. I recorded it right after the Michael Jackson memorial. Since they're calling for rain Sunday, I'll probably view them back to back one more time while eating some Oscar Mayer (another person we all enjoyed RIP).

Name: FreakyQue2U
Comment: Although I was unable to make it to the service, I watched the memorial on tv here in Nashville. McNair made Nashville his home (he lived in the Green Hills area), even after he went to Baltimore, and was one of the most accessible and giving pro athletes that I've known. Aside from his personal faults/flaws (which we all have), he did alot to support the North Nashville community (da hood/TSU)with his football camps, fundraisers, food drives, etc. Being a fraternity member,I had a chance to meet Steve on several occasions and he never seemed "offish", always had something positive to say any really enjoyed working with the inner city youth. Peace and blessings to his wife Mechelle and his family. You're in Omega Chapter now Que!! R.I.P. Roo!!

Comment: ...Wait-a-minute, wait-a-dayum-minute, did they pre-empt Cheaters to show this?...If they did...That's a STRONG-AZZ message to send muthafuccers...From what I've been reading- Folks knew 'bout Mc's drinking and driving 'no big deal...Folks knew 'bout Mc's NUMEROUS jumpoffs, 'no big deal..."THEY all do-it"...I've never been to Nashville, but dayum...Yo, I read somewhere that the chick wanted to be like Kim Kardashian...She looked up to Kim...WTF?....Seriously, I really don't think they shoulda shown the memorial services on TV...

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: B00T, did you read this article? It's quite revealing: http://www.nypost.com/seven/07102009/news/nationalnews /qb_gave_gal_a_goodbye_diss_178565.htm … >>QB GAVE GAL A GOODBYE DISS<<

Name: FreakyQue2U
Comment: I really wonder if this sad tell of events woke up any of those who are steppin' out on their marriages (esp. in the entertainment/pro sports world)?? I wonder how many (if any) "jump offs" received pink slips within the last week?

Name: Closet_Nerd_Girl
Comment: Ms. Jackie Smith you are one cold, cold woman. The man was shot in the head. TWICE! Why would ANYONE want to see that? It was a funeral, not a freak show. Sheesh...

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: ...>Yeah MC, I just took a look at it...That seems like some cold-azz sh1t...

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: FreakyQue2U, what happened to McNair won't change a thing, even if other tragedies follow.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: I'M not gonna even ask if there was a will.

Name: Exmun
Comment: FreakyQue2U, It's good to hear this about Steve. When a person dies, they should be remembered for their good works--especially when their death was so untimely and horrific.

Name: cerebralassassin_01
Comment: McNair's house: http://www.showcasebyagent.com/sba/index.php?sbo=m3704 08 I may drive over there and check it out. I haven't been in the Green Hills area in a while.

Name: cerebralassassin_01
Comment: It is amazing that people here at work are calling MJ a pervert/sinner, condeming him to Hell whereas McNair was a great human.

Name: cerebralassassin_01
Comment: I have no problem with either but I would like a little consistency from the people here.

Name: Juicebox
Comment: Cerebral, humans will never provide you with consistency. That is why you just accept them for who they are and make sure you put no stock in their acceptance and approval.

Name: TJthemilitant
Comment: Cerebral how about taking a page out of Bernie Mac's(RIP) book and "grabbing a hammer and slapping the PHUCVK outta 'em"!. lol

Name: Reds
Comment: Thanks Melody. That article and video explains everything. I really wanted to know exactly what happened during and after the arrest to make her flip out like that. She was pizzed at McNair.

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: Reds, yes she was livid! All those little pieces makes one understand her state of mind now. She was acting like a ride or die chick the night of the arrest. But Steve totally underestimated her.

Name: cerebralassassin_01
Comment: @TJthemilitant - I would love to use a hammer right now. Three people are talking about this right outside my office as I type this. @Juicebox - I agree.

Name: Reds
Comment: Melody, this may be going back against what I said, but I’m not sure about their %*$essment of “McNair gave her the cold shoulder again, cutting her off with an abrupt "bye." … Once McNair realized that he was on speaker, he wanted to get out of there. … And this exchange gives me the impression that she knew the routine, keep it on the down low. It seems that McNair was used to keeping her in check. …. “Kazemi interrupted to say, "I know, baby, you're on speaker phone . . . I'm not letting him know s- - -." McNair then harshly ordered, "Be quiet." … So in a way, I’m wondering if there was much more to it for causing her to flip.

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: Reds, yeah being on speaker would make you want to split. Seems like he was trying to keep their relationship on the downlow to avoid further publicity and leaking. Look how she had to call someone else to come get the escalade (the old boyfriend possibly). Steve was already pulling away from her, she already knew about another woman and it seems like he was only giving her some D as you said yesterday. She felt used and knew their relationship was petering out. I think it was a combination of things that came to a head that fateful day. Look what she told a Black woman (Vera Mosley Buckner two weeks before shooting) visiting Dave and Buster's with her daughters for the first time on a day trip from another city...photo included: ...http://www.timesdaily.com/article/20090709/ARTICLES /907095033?Title=McNair-s-girlfriend-bared-soul-to-Dec atur-mom-before-shooting- <<... McNair's girlfriend bared soul to Decatur mom before shooting

Name: StephBlake
Comment: Like I said before in an earlier story about McNair, He would still be ALIVE had the Nashville PO done their job arrested McNair for DUI (even though he wasn't driving, he was legally liable because the vehicle was co-registered in his name & he was IN THE VEHICLE (TN law)). He had been arrested before back in '07 when he let his brother-in-law drive his truck and they were stopped by the cops; but this time they let him go in a taxi. Had he been arrested, he would've faced public scrutiny, and of course, his wife, but I think he would be ALIVE.

Name: cerebralassassin_01
Comment: @StephBlake - The question would have been how much longer would he have been alive. Ol' girl wasn't playing with a full deck and quite honestly she probably would have done the same thing when he moved on to his next lady.

Name: StephBlake
Comment: Cerebral--Maybe; but I someone told me today that the "other woman" was his wife. Apparently McNair had enough of his jump-off & was ready to return to the "married life." Ol' girl wasn't having none of that, however. Also, his wife says she had no idea of the affair, but I doubt that. A woman knows when we're doing stuff we're not supposed to.

Name: MelodyCool
Comment: Steph, seems like Kazemi would have known what his wife looked like since they'd been to Dave and Busters with Steve. I read that Kazemi followed the other woman to her home but didn't confront her and the police also spoke with the second woman. Plus I wonder if Steve's wife knew where his ho pad was located. You'd think he would have been more comfortable taking care of marital business in that big azz house rather than a small condo he shared with another male knowing Kazemi could show up.

Name: Conrad
Comment: It wasn't even 2 minutes after that when ESPN ran a commercial for "Buster and Dave's". Sactown, programming, including which commercials will run in a certain spot (the shows make their money off commercial time bought by sponsors) and are set up way in advance. I just think it was bad timing, and nothing intentional. You must be down south too, 'cause I've never seen a Dave and Buster's in New York or California.

Name: Sactown
Comment: No I'm from Cali. They just advertised it on ESPN. It wasn't a local commercial. I don't think we have a Dave & Buster in Sactown.
