I don't know the rules of engagement when it comes to starting beefs but I assume that if you don't want someone coming at you then you would keep their name out of your mouth.

Southernbelle if this is truly what JayZ said Game didn't have anything to come back for. Game was only relevant when he first came out - since then the majority of the press he's received has been negative. I mean, the man did turn around with a quickness and try to bite the hand that was feeding him. He was dumb to think he could go at 50 and still be more than a pimple on the butt of hip hop/rap. The fact that 50 up to a point got a cut from errythang he made should have kept him in line at least for a moment.
What better way to make your bones than going after the biggest fish. Too bad he doesn't have faith in the product he puts out otherwise he'd know to let the product speak for itself and not alienate himself in the industry.

Comment: I just know that Jay has an ongoing beef with two of those he listed, Jim and Dame (I don't know of a beef between Jay and Game) and maybe they took the lyrics as an insult. I never heard a rap artist mention someone else's name in a "positive" way. Well there is the frequent reference to Obama in a "positive" way. Never the less, The Game is way of out Jay's league so I doubt that Jay will lose a minutes sleep behind this. @ McNasty regarding 50 cent. I almost forgot about the Game/50 feud . Comment: Southernbelle - no one was even fired on but Game did have to step way back and regroup cause he went after the king of beefs. He should have talked to JaRule and Fabolous (who is just now back on the video circuit) before he tried to chow down on Fiddy.
None of these beefs make sense but its what they began to do to gain more notoriety for themselves and I too miss when music was real and you didn't need an ebonics dictionary to understand what half these mush mouths are saying, when it actually meant something.
Since the inception of these beefs its all been down hill - its the day the music really died.
