"I went to the Image Awards taping and I was so disappointed. The show (tonight at 8pm E/P on Fox) was probably one of the worse they've had. The star power just wasn't there. Well, some were there, they just didn't perform.
Cuba Gooding Jr. sucked and his blackness isn't even strong enough to emcee a show like that, I don't know what they were they thinking? It was boring and full of lackluster. I hope they can edit the show and make it better than what I experienced.
And on another note: What is up with the these Black Gospel Plays? I saw 'Man of Her Dreams' and it was the 'Play Of My Nightmares!' It had so many plots and it was just ridiculous. No solutions, just stuff going on all over the place. AJ making fun of 'serious scenes' ... it was just awful. Everytime I go to one of these plays it always reminds me of why I hate them.

I just read Les Dixon's (02-24-06 EUR) comments slamming Tyler Perry's 'Madea.' How could you be so cruel?
My hat is off to the man if he is able to make us laugh at ourselves. This is about 'all of us and our' families.
With all the evil corruption going on in this world, we should be glad to laugh and smile. Of course, one man doesn't speak for us all and every man/woman is entitled to his/her opinion.
I don't like to see Blacks 'hating' on other Blacks because we are all in this together! Be happy that we can laugh and have a choice to do so. P L E A S E!"
*Richard Reed, actor from both Tyler Perry films:
That was about the most insane assessment I have ever read. This person doesn’t represent educated black Americans. When were they elected?
They (Les Dixon) keep commenting on how embarrassed they are by these other people’s accomplishments. Why? And in what way could any of Tyler Perry’s work be considered the equivalent of drug dealers in the black community? The analogies that this writer is attempting to throw at these Artists are inaccurate and clearly based in hatred. Why can’t some of us enjoy this art form without it being detrimental to our success? Shouldn’t we judge what is good for us in our own lives? Or maybe we should consult with this writer to make sure it’s the proper black thing to do. What a joke.
The whole write up lack credibility from the opening as all this author can do is insult Tyler Perry with names like Coon. These insults are the equivalent to black vs. black bigotry. It is a shame blacks have to sink to that level just to be heard. Envy is a bitch.
I personally support black actors, authors, and film makers. It doesn’t matter if they wear a dress and act like a grandmother or write stories about homosexuality. I don’t read some of this stuff, but I don’t doubt that there is an audience out there for it and it is there choice to purchase the material or not.
Last, notice how people never hate until someone is doing something extraordinary. Envy is a bitch."
