*Joss Stone is denying reports that she is dating British R&B sensation Lemar. Rumors of a romance between the singers began with a spotting of Lemar dipping out of Stone’s home in the south west of England last weekend. Despite reported public canoodling at the Brit Awards last month, Lemar's rep explained that their friendship is strictly platonic; the two are actually working together. "It's all above board," she says. Meanwhile, Stone has teamed with NASCAR driver Greg Biffle to launch the 2006 Tour for Life, a movement to reinforce the importance of adopting shelter cats and dogs. The tour runs March 29 through April 29 and will stop in more than 20 U.S. cities to help save pets across America.
*Jennifer Lopez and her hairdresser, Oribe, have parted ways, reports the New York Post. "There was no fight; she just stopped using him," said a source. The stylist, famous for his tantrums, preposterous demands and $10,000 hair bills, will now focus attention on his Miami salon.
*After 24 seasons as the head basketball coach of Temple University, John Chaney, 74, is announcing his retirement. "I have said all along that I would know when it would be time to step down and now is that time," Chaney said in a statement. "I want to thank Temple University, its fans and community for allowing me to do what I love for so long. It has never been a job for me, but a passion." Famous for his sideline rants and desire to mentor his players, Chaney leaves the game having coached the Owls in five NCAA regional finals and 17 NCAA tournament appearances. He was twice named the national coach of the year.
